Since they released stats for the cloaks the main use of them is as an active dampener. Cloak while running is a LOT better than I expected. The inside and outside view of the cloak while moving is very different. While you see the clue outline at all times, it is a lot harder to notice if you are moving around yourself... With max graphics I think I see cloaks all the time... when really it is just the terrible graphics of this game not being as smooth as it should be. Watching a Cloaked Scout run around you is a lot like imagining the Jaws theme play through your head. You know they are there, but so long as you are moving your field of view around, the poor graphics make cloak shimmer and rendering indistinguishable. The big problem only arises when we start getting into the top two suits facing off: Caldari scout vs Gallente scout. My belief is that a large part of the problem comes from the number being really miniscule when you starting maxing your skills and module usage, this in turn results in low number changes due to module modifiers being % based. Why shouldn't the base stats on EVERYONE be increased so that we make the RANGE larger. That means more room to play with and fewer consequences (when balancing) to tweaking one set of stats. As the gallente starts to stack modules they get to a point where you only are seeing a 1 or 2 point reduction. Same with Caldari scout and precision... If I had the time I would rework it (using Haerr's scan table) to increase all base profile/precision stats by 10-15 points. Of course I could just be talking out of my ass right now, if so please be gentle.

I personally enjoy the cloak and it affords me to play as a specialized eWar fitting. If anything needs to be done to the cloak it is LOWER the shimmer for people walking and moving slower. Right now its the same as sprinting and walking from what I can tell.

They killed me pretty close to the Uplink, so they had plenty of time to walk over to the Uplink and wait for a spawn. They were standing waiting for a spawn when I spawned. Edit: Not bull I've been killing a lot of heavies with one these days. Some I have come across do need two though. But my question is why does the cloak deserve special treatment over other gear? It's the only EQ piece that can operate on half charge. Imagine if the Active Scanner could operate with half cooldown. But that's a different story. Why does the cloak need more love? It seems fairly fine right now just let the spam settle.

I might drop the precision mods, cardio reg and dampener for tank in the future. It really doesn't matter - all scouts play their scouts differently. Answer: 23.79 dB It will pick up Gal Scouts without damps, and Proto Scouts with Damps. They both round up to 24, and the tie goes to the scanner. As many of you have started to joined the venereal disease, blue waffle alliance I assume you all will be sharing fits and letting the new scout in on how to fit and the tables and charts the math oriented guys had made. I double dampen my Min and Cal Scout. then use cloak. My Gal Logi has a dB of 21 with cloak. Loss of EQ bonus to cloaks means I downgrade my Boundless REs to STD REs and my Allotek D Hive to K-2 Nanohive and keep the same fit. Gal-Scout just does away with cloak and double dampens to avoid Cal-Scout with 4 precision enhancers. 2 EQ for RE and Hives. Cal-Scout is so useless in PC for its Scan capabilities because it is so easily overcome, even with 4 precision enhancers. I'm done with Cal-Scout in PC. It's just not worth it.
