Well, since I (barely) meet the requirements and the scout playstyle seems to be in even more danger than before, I'd like to be added to the list. |

Nice, I can't play for a few more days but I see the stats have gotten richer. Awesome effort on this... and I'll chime in as well... I don't care how much changes in the game I'm sticking with my scout come hell or high water.
If I want to play something else for variety I'll use an alt and take the penalty that comes from having to skill into it from scratch. |

How do you run this registry?
I would be interested in doing something similar for shield/armor tankers. Any info would help, thanks! |

You have got to skill into cardiac regs regardless, and it will lessen the sting of a nerf. With 1 complex you'll have over 400stamina given you have lv 5 biotics (a must)

mollerz wrote:hey guys! I posted this in the CPM council chambers Scouts 1.2Shotty- You have become a good defacto community gathererer. I was especially wondering about your thoughts in engaging the CPM better to get scout representation into the developing process. It seems like we are an afterthought.
Reaching out the to CPM is a great idea, Mollerz.
Kudos on taking the initiative; I was really impressed with your tactical approach. Everyone is expecting moaning and QQ, yet you opted to pose a simple, direct question. You'd make a fine lawyer.
Anyhow, I agree 100% that better scout representation is in our long-term best interest. Iron Wolf Saber's quick and candid response would indicate that we currently have ear of the CPM. Let's do what we can to make their job easier.
As we all face similar but different challenges in Uprising 1.2, I think that our best chance of sound representation would involve selecting a Liaison from each of our core categories:
CPM Liaison for Gallente Scouts CPM Liaison for Minmatar Scouts CPM Liaison for Scout Snipers
Ideally, the Liaison from each category should have access to prototype suits, this way he/she can relate to the concerns and feedback of peers at all levels. Further, said Liaison would preferably be a full Scout (not a cross-class), be articulate (not troll or tantrum prone), and be willing to invest a little time in the Forums. I don't think it'd be a huge burden time-wise, but our Scout Liaisons should be willing and able to distill and respond to feedback from peers in order that the CPM may be engaged in a well-informed and unanimous manner.
If you guys think that is a good approach, then our next step is to decide upon who we'd like to represent us in the above Scoutly categories. We have alot of talent in our ranks; a clever lot, we Scouts. I'll be glad to provide each of our three Liaisons an endorsement from the Registry, a front-page link to a his/her Liaison Feedback thread, and any community statistics he/she may require.
So these are my thoughts, Mollerz. Its totally up to you guys how we proceed from here. If anyone's interested in performing the role of a CPM Scout Liaison, please step forward and make your interest known.
o7, Shotty |

1) Community support and feedback 2) In-game statistics 3) Lots of time checking leaderboards and typing into spreadsheets
Seriously, that's all there is to it. No secret API or SDK. It's just a bunch of spreadsheets.

A bit of advice for shotgun scouts that I've discovered while playing today (this may be obvious to some people, but it was never part of my game before): Using your SMG to finish people off is crucial.
The combination of the quick weapon switching, better aiming due to frame rate improvements, and extended weapon range has made SMG (or pistol, if you have better aim than I) usage far more viable in combination with the shotgun. With regularity, I've been able to land a few shotgun rounds on target and then finish the kill with the SMG while already retreating. With the stamina nerd, the ability to finish off combat while already moving to cover has saved me multiple times this evening. I'm not quite back to where I was in 1.1, but I've been much closer.
This extends to general movement around the map as well. Because you can switch to the shotgun so quickly, theres no reason not to move almost exclusively with the SMG to enjoy the extra range and slightly increased speed.
Previously, the SMG was always just my panic weapon for when my shotgun clip ran out and there was no time to reload. Now, I've found that using the two in tandem has allowed me to regain some of the stopping power that I lost by not being able to engage at short range as easily. Hopefully this helps some people until scouts get the sorely needed buff in 1.3 or beyond. |

You see, I have an ADV Quantum Scanner, and I love it! But with so little CPU and PG, I can't afford to run the darn thing without sacrificing what little shields I have.
They are effective in finding the "gaps" in the strawberries defenses, and allows us to track our opponents through walls, and is an invaluable component.
+1. Everyone needs to try this.
Also, @Shotty
I love this registry! I was playing a round today and noticed a familiar name on the scoreboard before heading in. It was WhyCantIDie. I was running around on ambush, and saw 2 people fall to ProtoKnives by him.
So I head to that area (which was clear by then) and see a Scout running with knives.
I pull out mine and melee the air at him. And so it began. The most intense 30 seconds of my Dust Career.
We were both rocking proto knives and Minja's, so one shot was death (which was why it lasted so long). I managed to catch him with a well-timed swipe as he attempted to run and turn. Sent him a message afterwards telling him how awesome it was.
And it was all thanks to your freaking awesome job with this registry. +2 |

WhyCantIDie is the alt of Sontie, one the best Scouts ever to lay a stealthy boot on the battlefields of New Eden. Always an honor to meet a scout of this caliber in combat. Kudos on emerging victorious. Many of us would have met certain death . |

Hopefully this helps some people until scouts get the sorely needed buff in 1.3 or beyond. I figured out this theory yesterday. Basically SMG for some (relatively) long range, shotgun medium to close, and SMG again when things get a little too hot. Now I just need enough CPU to fit both the CRG7 and M209... |

Not sure it will help you if you are running ADV:
STD Gallente:
Basic AR, Militia Scrambler pistol, Enhanced Stamina mod, Basic Armor repper, Basic shield extender, drop uplink, Locus nades
Basic AR, Militia Scram pistol, Enhanced kin/cat, Basic armor repper, Basic shield extender, basic Nanohive, A/V nades
Militia Minmitar:
Militia shotgun, Militia scram pistol, Enhanced kin/cat, enhanced stamina mod, drop uplink, locus nades.
Not sure what race I want to skill into so I use the Gallente dragonfly suit and the Minmitar Militia. |
