I also like the small rail, same reasons. But I suck with small missiles =/
All my party tanks run STD small rail, though. Workin on Proto large rail, then complex shields, then proto small rail, then complex armor and proto large blasters. missiles are for much later for me.

All this talk about vehicles got me thinking I'd like to join in.. so I had created an alt for my little brother a year ago or so jus tin case dust got to be bad ass he'd have a toon to grab. But sadly, since that isn't happening I may as well tap into it.

Any tips on wha tI could do with that with vehicles? I never even looked at the vehicles skill tree.
I started getting the hang of flying a derpship... but how is ADS to ADS combat? lame or good? They are quite costly I saw.

ADS v. ADS is pretty lame, imo, but then I suck at ADS, so... From what I've seen of it, whoever has the higher skill (thus, higher ROF) will win or drive the enemy ADS off. Also, altitude wins.
As for tanking, fitting optimization and complex tank mods (shield or armor) are massively important. Armor repping tanks seem to have much higher survivability, shield tanks with hardeners chuckle at missile tanks... until the hardener is on cooldown, then that missile tank will instagib you.
For my alt, I'm at ADV and ENH on rail/shield skills, working on getting the PRO rail, then the complex shield mods. Going to go for the skill that lengthens duration of active modules so the hardener stays on longer and I think there's a skill that shortens cooldown too.

Still can't land well though. My typical landing consists of slamming into a wall with hardeners on and jumping out.

Line Harvest is probably the best map to practice dropship piloting. You can use the pipes and table top to refine your skills by trying to fly under them.
you can get really technical and try flying underneath the trapezoid buildings
And there are always forge gunners to practice dodging those as well.

In PC, that's the second best way to do it.
The best way is for the dedicated ADS pilot to drop you off without slowing down. aka the hot-drop

When I had dreams of flying the Python, I practiced flying and landing and such in a Myron for like, three weeks. When I finally felt comfortable with its flight characteristics and the concept of vector thrust, I went ahead and bought 5 Pythons with ISK I'd saved up.
I was not prepared.
I see people lighting up the killfeed with MT-1 missiles in a Python... I think I got maybe three kills by the time the 5th Python got shot down. ADS is not for me.

I managed 3 mil to buy skills on my new tank alt. I was able to go super duper blaster tank, and am set up to open up missiles next. Just need to earn a bit more ISK to buy a couple more skills and then!!!..... I have to save up for tanks. lol.
And lo and behold! I was able to redeem all those mailing list goodies- 3 day omega booster! After I cap mollerz I'll switch over and cap dis dude.

sorry, no. dirty little rust buckets just pop all the time. They don't even need to be fired upon before they explode.
I want to start some smack talk, because Minmatar ships are terrible, but it's been so long since I flew a frigate that wasn't a stealth bomber I have no clue if my old fits are even valid... I haven't flown a frigate since before Rigging was a thing.

I only ever cap one toon per SP event, have a life/job etc.
Since I've now hit 30 mil SP on my main, I'm tempted to use my vehicle alt, last time I checked (pre FF) she had 14 mil SP. I rolled Proto Rail and Blaster HAV (both maddy and gunni) for PC and also had ADS though not protod out. Missiles I only have at ADV. Might do some party vehicles if anyone wants a ride.
I make no promises regarding your safety as I am out of practise. Like, 6 months out of practise.

I am confused with fluxing RE's. When you flux them they explode and from my experience they kill the team mate standing on them. Seems to happen when I flux RE's in pubs too. Am I wrong and just happen to flux them at same time they are being set off?

In FW/PC flux grenades detonate red and blue REs alike. So you can go trolling by fluxing a point right as a team mate tries to lay some REs there for defense
