In case any of my fellow scouts wonder, if you become accustomed to its quirks and get operations up, the Bolt Pistol is a very manageable and effective weapon. (At least, it has been so far for me.)
Yes, other sidearms might outperform the BP, but it's hard for some of us "Gunslinger" bastards to pass up CCP's version of the "Most powerful handgun ever built."
This is the Kaalakiota Bolt Pistol- the most powerful handgun in New Eden.

Honestly, I was playing a few games, people would look at me. Then they would look of other red dots, then they would just walk away.

Cal-Scout +shotgun = not fun.
Caldari mini-Assault + Shotgun = still not fun.
Minmatar really hasn't changed. Same problems, same advantages.
Gallente does't feel right. Like the bonus to range amp isn't working. Because I should have had a 54m scan radius, but a piece of equipment eluded my scan from within 30m

The adv Gal scout's bonuses and slot layout is probably my favourite.
The adv Cal scout has been great for finding other scouts.
Killed a couple of people while they were cloaked.
Later going to see if level 3 magsec improves recoil.

Ion Pistol, really, some of you like it? The dispersion, even with sharpshooter, is crazy. Not enough damage to take on the tanked suits. And the charge is still super dumb.
Bolt Pistol? Hate it. Full Auto, charge up time, no. Breach ScP is better.

1.8...I never had to watch out for so many scouts before.
The cloak+sprint scouts are easy targets, but the other scouts on top of them...
Lets hope it's just a phase...but still, I'm gonna have to brush up on my scout v scout skills - it's not all about murdering dumb, slow meds and heavies anymore.
In the meantime I better get round to making an ALL CAPS POST ABOUT THE G1+VALOR STATS!!1!1 somewhere.

Tried cloak for a couple minutes and not impressed off the bat. May be good for escapes and ambushes but we shall see I guess. Anyone have Proto cloak yet able to comment on its usefulness further? |

The Proto Cloak is far better than the Standard IMO (of course... what other way would it be? O_o). It lasts for a good amount of time, and being able to cloak and decloak at your own will makes it very useful.
Also, the cloak regen time is really fast for the Proto Cloak.

Ok played some more and only went up to ADV cloak since I wanted to max out a couple other things instead. Its "meh ok" I guess. It helped in some situations, HOWEVER, I just had a match where EVERYONE WAS A HEAVY WITH A HMG... DA FUQ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Talk about face melting... died so many times I went starter suit. I can now see where CCP was coming from nerfing the Heavy. Geeze... oh and lots of tanks. Yay? |
