Say it with me: Scouts are slightly faster and far flimsier than all the other suits, and it doesn't equal out. Unless the cloak allows us to run up and ABSOLUTELY OHK everything this side of a MCC, then CCP can keep it in the closet. If you can't make us better in a FPShooter (see that word shooter?), then just leave us the heck alone.

Oh I see. Well, to be clear. I am not advocating a logi nerf. I am advocating a scout buff. A logi is the only baseline I think is worth working with because they even out assault an assault.

But choose my next suit! I was thinking Amarr Assualt. It's gonna have a repper bonus and I just tested my super repped scout today. It had 4 complex reps with the skill bonus. It was by far the fastest recovering suit but it's low overall HP prevented it from being too useful. Minmatar Logistics. It'll have 4 equipment slots after the update still, and you can speed tank it whilst still having 4-500 Shields. It's what Annie Oakley and Calamity Jane, Shotgun saints, used before they quit.
And it does not have a sidearm and I don't speed tank or have an interest in repair tools.

If it effected both, it would mainly be used to get medium frames in closer to do damage, meaning it would be a squad based scout, which is an interesting concept actually, obviously its not the best bonus, but I don't think we are going to get anything great with such a short time frame. I think they decided not to give us a precision reduction because I believe they want the recon dedicated to the gal scout, because their suggestion for the cal scout was definitely out of the box (not very useful though), and I think they did this to avoid giving cal scouts detection bonuses which competes with the gal scout (despite the fact that a high slot cal scout would be great at detecting other scouts)
What do you mean by "entered their radius"? As in if we are in their active's scan range, the scanner has reduced precision? That would probably require a fairly significant change in how the scanner is coded. I suspect the scanner "pings" a merc as if finds them since this would be the easiest implementation. If the cal scout affected scanners if they are in the scanners range but not necessarily the cal scout's range, the scanner would have to collect all the mercs in the range and check if any of them were cal scouts before determining if they are to be scanned or not. And what if a cal scout enters a scanner's range after a scan has been initiated? If this was what you intended, I doubt CCP would go through with it as it would require a fair amount of rework to the scanners.
If the bonus affected both passive and active scanners within the cal scouts range and the cal scout had a slot layout of either 4/2 or 3/2, then it would suffice so long as CCP promised to change it to a proper jammer bonus when that is available.
If there is no promise, then we would need something on top of it that at least benefits the cal scout in some way.

If there are to be any restrictions, keep out CPU/PG low so we can't reasonably fit two pieces of equipment without sacrificing elsewhere, unless one of them is the cloak.

Thank you sir - saved me more expletives and telling Remnant, Kain, IWS and all of the scouts who are trying to appease them where they can go for the rest of time.
I think I will go and try to enjoy the game until they mess it up anymore.

Yet. CCP_Remnant announced that we were being stripped of secondary weapons. He announced it. Like it was no big deal. This fact alone suggests that the Devs fully intend to demand quid pro quo. But if CCP is deadset on further bloodletting, then I say let them take something we can learn to live without. Does it smell of Bullish? Yes. Will it hurt? Absolutely. Is it reasonable? Probably not. But it is still the least bad option.
The Least Bad Option: * Add a second equipment slot and give us enough CPU/PG to fit cloak in it * Remove Grenade Slot
^ Again, if and only if CCP demands bloodletting. Which they shouldn't. Hugs should be god-d*mn Hugs.
Also, there's a good chance that IWS is intervening on our behalf. Let's not jump to conclusions, accuse him of scheming or hold him personally responsible for today's bad news. If CCP ends up killing the Scout by exacting too severe a toll, then so be it. Let them fail us, but let's at least give IWS a chance.

Someone else mentioned this, so the credit doesn't go to me, the name slips me at the moment too, but he was inquiring about an additional 25% cpu/pg off of cloaks (5% per level), pretty much just extra cpu/pg just to give more leeway with fitting (bland but can be effective). I would image that instead of the "free slot" like min/gal scout get via racial skills, the cal scout would just have more cpu/pg per slot due to its skill instead, I have no idea if this is balanced or not though as this might be treading on the Amarr scout now.

As for the grenade/sidearm thing, I'd take keep both > just sidearm > just grenade but I can live with any outcome as long as I get my 2nd EQP.
As for the 25% extra reduction for the cal scout, it'd work I guess. Not my choice, but still usable. I don't think it would encroach too much on the Amarr's better fitting since it would only be true when both equip a cloak. In all other cases, the Amarr should still have the advantage in fitting.

Unlikely, I know, since CCP really really wants to give logis an advantage with their EQ bonus. But for the sake of careful examination, can we compare possibilities?
The one thing I like about grenade slot just for scout, is that it's always a single button away. Leaving room for "activate IMMEDIATELY at spawn", potentially.
The thing I like about it for non-scout reasons: logis would no longer get a fitting bonus for it :)
Things I DONT like about having it in grenade slot instead of extra eq slot: ... I could do some seriously wicked things with TWO EQ slots on a scout suit. Muah-ahahhaa....

Guys, right now you need to be hard line about not giving up an inch.
I refuse to play as a scout if these changes happen. All I wanted was my Chromosome scan range, a little more speed, and a second high slot. That's it. After July passed last year and the cloak was still just on the backburner, I never wanted a cloak. It is not needed for scouts.
Little tweaks to the base stats of the scout are all we need. forget this talk of cloaks. As long as it is an equipement it is for logistics suits. As long a Logistics suit can use it the Logi will be better with it than Scouts.
All of thses changes will only marginalize a suit that is underperforming with a small playerbase. I said it in another thread, but I love the shotgun so I'll be making the swtch to Assault ck.0 when these nerf new patch notes are released.
