I think they decided not to give us a precision reduction because I believe they want the recon dedicated to the gal scout, because their suggestion for the cal scout was definitely out of the box (not very useful though), and I think they did this to avoid giving cal scouts detection bonuses which competes with the gal scout (despite the fact that a high slot cal scout would be great at detecting other scouts)

evidently the sidearm is being killed off the scout suit. I can not part with my Scrambler pistol. Perhaps I could waste it on light frames all the way and wait for another light frame addition
But choose my next suit! I was thinking Amarr Assualt. It's gonna have a repper bonus and I just tested my super repped scout today. It had 4 complex reps with the skill bonus. It was by far the fastest recovering suit but it's low overall HP prevented it from being too useful.

Edit: although my personal, FULL preference, would be to have a 'light logi' suit, rather than muck with the scout.
The 'light logi' would be exactly what was described as a supposed scout suit:
A light suit, with 2xEQ slot, and no sidearm. Just looking at the description of layouts, says "logi". |

It'll have 4 equipment slots after the update still, and you can speed tank it whilst still having 4-500 Shields.

A grenade slot is a lot more useful than you guys are thinking, and once it is goen it is gone.
A basic flux is 9CPU/2PG.. after maxing out the explosive skill that goes down to 7/2 (if memory serves). It is one of the few items a CPU/PG starved suit can fit. Any new scout clawing through the grind will find fluxes invaluable. Even locus which is another option for the same cost.
A flux barrage will:
- Clean objectives of enemy REs (by far the most important use) - Sets up enemy squads to get swept up. - Can take out a tanks shields - Can make mercs back off when being pursued - Probably other uses I'm not thinking of.
IMHO, there are better ways for CCP to fix us. There is no reason to lose a G slot.

I would, personally, suggest giving Scouts a second equipment at Advanced (Logistics suits with three equipment slots at Prototype get their third at Advanced level) and, of course, Proto, but also let them keep the Grenade slot.
If this isn't easy enough, then just give it to them at Proto at the very least, like they did for the Proto Assault in beta. |

Mmm.. that IS a good point. REs are very resource hungry compared to fluxes.
It's sounding like a "light logi" might be the best alternative after all. Leave scouts as-is, but add new light logi dropsuit, that gets multiple EQ, but loses sidearm.
