Played one match, and I am rusty, but I came on here to say this.
I am skilled into Flaylock, and at the end of the match switched from the ScP to Flaylock after having much problems with shotgun scouts and trying to kill them with an ScP.
I am now making it my Fav fit.
I came around to one, put two rounds at his feet, and he died. HE DIED
FU sneaky shotgun scouts, no more will my knives be a detriment!!!
I haven't tried cloak, but I did notice "cloak delay" while switching from REs to knives.
WTF?
The rest I will reserve judgment until having played more, and shaken off some rust.

Oh right, patch comments. I really like the daily mission idea. I don't like that half of the ones I got require me to use aurum. The kill feed seems a bit clustered, maybe ranks should be shortened, so like Lt for Lieutenant. Does killing people (and getting killed) seem significantly slower to anyone else? Seems like everyone is soaking up more damage.

I only have one question: (and I ask it with the utmost respect to you, sir) If you are fitted with the shotgun, what reason do you need to switch to knives? Let's say you are sneaking up on a lone wolf, you get within 5m, and switch to your weapon. He's got his back turned and maybe he's even walking forward. What weapon do you use? The TTK on shotgun is faster/easier than knives because you don't need to close the distance fully.
I can understand wanting a weapon to quickly finish off opponents that survive the knives, but if that weapon is outright better than the knives to begin with, why use the knives?
EDIT: I should also mention I haven't tried using the shotgun yet, so maybe there is something about it I do not know? |

@ OEK
Try this:
Scout M/1 (49.9k) HS: Cmp Precision, Enh Shield, Cmp Shield LS: Dmp Damp (x2) PW: Std Combat Rifle SW: Pro Knives EQ: Adv Cloak, A-19 Active Scanner
AM Scout scans are out; GA Logi Active Scans are in. 21dB is the new 18dB. The precision enhancer bumps your outer ring to 37dB; you pick up undampened Meds this way. The A-19 is easy to fit and recycles super fast. Ping your mark before takedown to get a feel for his jumpiness and orientation.
PS: Don't tell me its too expensive; check your wallet :-) |

AM Scouts are out; Active Scanners are in. 21dB is the number to beat; 1 Cmp + 1 Enh damp gets you to 20. Even when you do everything right, you're going to lose suits to BS (OP HMG Heavies, OP backpedal speed and OP Breach ARs). But to be fair, you're going to lose suits to these no matter what you run. I actually didn't have a problem being scanned, to my knowledge.
All the suits I ran had 2 damps, and my fittings screen said I was getting down to 18 dB.
The first game or so I didn't bother running a cloak, and that seemed to help more than anything, but I still encountered the RE delay switching to a weapon, which is freaking annoying and hopefully a glitch and not a stealth nerf.
But then I was dying moving around a lot because I was at 250ish HP.
I don't think I ran into any Amarr scouts. Most were Gal with a few Cal and Min thrown in. The rest were Heavy/Logi/Assaults. And I swear I knifed one Heavy twice with Ishukones and he still had 900 HP left when he gunned me down.
Mostly though, it was the team balance. If we were dominating them, there was nothing for me to infiltrate or stealth hack unless it was the sole Red objective, which is just suicidal. If we were getting dominated, it was 16 guys scattered all over the place and driving vehicles looking for something to kill and converging on anything I tried to hack.
I think if there were some sort of balance I could deal with the other issues as I had in 1.7 and before, but all games are so unbalanced now that its just too much. Too many frustrations and not just one or two big ones I can work around.

Way back when the HMG was broken I'd occassionally run Scrambler Rifle and Scrambler Pistol on an Amarr sentinel. Really wasn't very good. Back in the Flaylock spam days and Cal logi it was pretty useless not that I minded.
There's a reason my KDR didn't go positive until 1.7.

It provides no dampening, and when trying to use it to traverse open areas, its duration is so short that you end up becoming uncloaked halfway to your destination. Adv would be more useful, but really even then you end up gimping your suit unless you have Lvl 4 in a racial scout. I would reiterate that I think the cloak is in a place where you might as well just reduce the fitting costs and open it up to everone. Let whiny Assaults that think the cloak is a "win" button try it out and see how much it helps.
Why not normalise the duration for all tiers, just providing increased dampening at ADV and PRO. I would then prefer to have two different types, standard and tactical, where the standard have long duration (for traveling long distances) but hardly any damps, and tactical with short duration and larger damps.

What is the point of being less visible if you can still be seen, but are unable to retaliate when shot at by larger HP suits for several seconds? With the delay, they really should get rid of the shimmer animation.

The boxes are piling up fast! Wish they were color-coded by loot quality, so I'd know which to spend my keys on first. Forgot at the time of writing, but I'd been running Minnie Sentinel with HMG for all matches to get as much kills in as little time for the daily missions, so that may have factored into it. The scan changes are actually a huge buff, but mostly when fighting mediums and maybe undampened scouts.

1. My biggest gripe is back peddle speed. This seriously irritates me.
2. Auto-Activating Inertia Dampeners are really frustrating. It's IMPOSSIBLE to stealth into an area from on high. Really dislike this.
3. Decloak animation has been brought down to 0 Frames again, this is good.
4. Weapon swap from cloak now changes equipment and decloaks asynchronously, YESS!! Finally people will not be able to complain about being shot from cloak anymore. GREAT !
5. Sprinting during equipment swap STILL cancels out the swap. Trying to decloak and then sprinting results in you becoming visible but not switching to your weapon. Very frustrating.
6. I love the scan fall off and everything that comes with it, including the super powerful inner scan circle. I appreciate that I show up as a red blip before taking out a target with Nova Knives and I in turn appreciate being able to see a red blip before getting shotgunned. This was done well.
7. I am happy to see directional arrows still work for Active Scanner. Why wasn't this mentioned in the thread for feedback on the subject? It would've saved a lot of discussion.
8. The fitting screen says 3000.00 meters when it in fact means 30.00 meters or 3000.00 cm (either would be fine).
PROPOSAL: When the concept of fire-delay from cloak was discussed, Rattati started out with a 0.3 second delay, confident that it was enough time to give people a fighting chance.
It made NO difference.
So it was buffed up to 1 full second, and became painfully obvious WHY it didn't work at 0.3 seconds. The switch from equipment to weapon and the actual decloaking were not asynchronous. Regardless of the delay, it was still possible to fire from cloak.
Right now, the switch from equipment and the decloaking animation are properly asynchronous. GREAT JOB FIXING THIS !! Can we re-evaluate the delay? Originally it was felt 0.3 seconds was good, then it was bumped up to 1.0 seconds because it apparently wasn't enough, when in fact it wasn't working properly.
What I want the MOST: for the glitch where decloaking gets canceled by sprinting to be fixed.
This is why I come here, thanks!
