Pretty close to what I'm looking at Mollerz, but I'd change the cardio to an advanced for the asymetric recharge bonus (takes full recharge from 3.75 sec to 3.125), and I see no reason to go beyond the advanced cloak. Admittedly you're not struggling for fittings anyway, but makes it a little more isk effective

Seems pretty solid to me. Stealth - check. Situational awareness (within 30 feet, assuming you have the range skill at max) - check. Speed and capitalizing on the stamina bonus - check.
For the EQ it just seems like you may want to add an armor repping nano-hive. Then the other slot could be cloak? RE? This is my kind of fit... .well, I'd probably swap one of the biotics for a range extender but given my small tank I need to really stay on top of where people are.
@Llast - next time dude! I saw you, me and Arbiter were all randoming in the previous match so I invited you both. He jumped in and we had some epic games with a full scout squad (Me, Arb, Denak....)

I just can't see the use of 1 precision enhancer. It looks like most of the vets are using a complex dampener, It just doesn't seem worth it.

I will do this to catch the suits under the 36 db threshold. Scouts not running dampeners, assaults using 1 complex dampener with max skills etc.... I don't think I'd be without a precision enhancer, honestly.
It won't do much for a scout using a complex dampener or cloak, but it will catch a lot of the stuff in between. Or scouts using lower level dampeners with less than max skills.
There is a whole realm of grey between 36db and 28.8db that using that complex precision enhancer buys you access to in 1.8.
I will be calling that place my home.

Why is it 4 pg over if I'm only using specialist weapons, a basic cloak, a non-pg intensive equipment, a GODDAMN SPECIALIST FLAYLOCK, and shield mods (supposedly cpu intensive)? I only fit two kin cats, which should be fine since i fit a 0 pg item in my third low. This is why shield extenders need proto fitting stats changed to 60cpu, 6 pg (also perfectly balanced with armor plate fitting stats). Also, can anyone tell me why the caldari suit has more Pg than minmitar?

Question is, what is really the minimum tank that is necessary? If you're going to do it at all, what amount makes it actually worth it? Would this be enough to stop me being one-shot by things like scrambler rifles? Shotguns? http://www.protofits.com/fittings/shared/0/1562 Minimum tank for me in my proto suits are 5-600 hp. Any less than that and I know ill just die a lot in 1v1 engagements. Minimum tank overall if you're a scout should be 450 hp. Any less and you can be killed before you can even react... Maybe that change in 1.8 though with nerf to rifles
I'm not too different, unless I'm running a cheap fit. My cheap fits (2 - 30k ISK) can be stacked for hacking or whatever, but if I'm pulling out Proto I expect to survive and I'm unlikely to run <500hp.
In saying that could this be a reasonable counter FotM scout build? http://www.protofits.com/fittings/shared/0/1616 I've built it with running with other scouts in mind. Letting the minnie stabbers and what not use my passives to find the idiots. I'm assuming they're not running with dampeners and my passive should be able to pick them up if they both round up.
When 1.8 drops I'll be deleting and recreating all of my builds. Though actually when 1.8 drops I'll be away on a diving trip out on the Great Barrier Reef for a week diving with sharks etc, so you know, that's cool too. |

I finally actually trained the passive scan skills up to 3 and I mounted the scan modules on my Dragonfly suit. My understanding is that the Dragonfly is indeed a scout suit and gets the bonuses. However, I also use an advanced scout suit.
I feel like I was right not having worried about them before. I don't think I'm getting the mileage I should from the skills and mods. I'm not really picking up other players unless they are, maybe, right there at me.
I'd assume it is latency and they need to be near me for a certain amount of time. It seems from time to time this may be the case. I'm not going to believe that many med and heavy suits are dampening that much.
I'm still getting blindsided the same as running a no-scan med suit.
Seems like they are picking me up too when they shouldn't be.

Seems like they are picking me up too when they shouldn't be. You really want to max out both the gal scout and scan range skills to get the full useful effect, then add complex mods. At the moment, you're probably only scanning around 35m, which isn't that useful unless you're already right around the corner. Players can easily kill you from outside that distance or close it for a CQC (<20m) kill in a second or so.
With my base 36m scan, I usually only catch unexpected people in my scan range at the last second and survive by the skin of my teeth. On my passive scan suit, which I've been using as my primary suit lately, 2 complex precision enhancers (for non-dampened scouts) and 2 complex range amps, my scan range is something like 70m and I can see trouble way before it's anywhere near me.

Make sure your math is correct. your base stats are 45 precision and 45 profile and 16 range (until Tuesday!). If you have level 3 in precision enhancement, profile dampening, and range amplification, you'll have 42.3 precision, 42.3 profile, and 20.8m range. If you have skilled into Gallente Scout your range increase by 10% per level and profile reduces by 5% per level. So if you have level 3 in gallente scout operations you'll have: 42.3 precision, 35.955 profile, and 27.04m range
So you put scan modules on it? let's say you put 1 enhanced dampener, 1 enhanced precision enhancer, and 1 enhanced range amplifier. Then you'd have 35.955 precision (basically the ADV scanner's precision) 28.764 profile ( you can be scanned by prototype active scanners) and 36.5m scan range.
Fun facts: that first circle on your tacnet is 25m radius. See how small that is? that's one reason why you may feel like you don't see anyone in time. In this game, a single step while walking is 1m, that means that at 36.5 meters scan radius, they are 37 sets away from you! You also won't detect anyone that is using dampeners to hide from ADV scanners.
Being a Scout is a very large SP investment. You need all the skills of the other suits and the 3 scanning skills to level 5 to get the most out of it. I'd also say that any passive scan under 50m is unreliable, simply because it doesn't give you enough time to scan them and react unless they are on the other side of a wall.
