It put a lot of people (Mount of people who chose Amarr scout being relative) in negative SP because of the way CCP chose to correct the problem. On a case by case basis they are doing respecs for people who submit a ticket because they do not agree with CCP's choice to place them in negative SP. KRRROOOOOOM

For the way I use it, Basic is good. Still scouting as normal, engaging cloak for exposure when I have no hills, and getting away. Basic functions great due to limiting use. I find this most effective when Knifing, because the cloak disengage messes up my stabberyness. Also find disengage to be cumbersome with charge weapons as a whole. Anyone else? I'm not even running a cloak on my caldari build. it's just not necessary since I can basically see everything coming. But on suits where I do have a cloak- the basic just runs out of juice on big maps or during prolonged stalking missions. I've got L4 Cal scout although I find that I don't use it for long-range ops... it sort of provides a different function than my Gallente for close-in ops with my pistols. I typically pull it out when the **** hits the fan and I'm trying to defend an objective with a few scouts around. The C/1 with dual precision, dual range and one shield in the high provides 70m of all-seeing-eye goodness. My fellow scouts in squad are like pirranahs when those reds try to close in... just maximum zerg and carnage to the reds. We lost a few games today but defended the home point till the bitter end against six man squads, tanks, etc.... I like the cloak though since I also infiltrate a lot with it as well as defend. Sometimes I end up alone with 5 guys I can see closing in and the cloak helps me bail out successfully. Good games today to my fellow scouts, Lightning xVx, Borm1r, Alaskan (Man, we punished some newbro scouts!), Outlaw, Moody, Aria, Roger P, etc... awesome to run with you all! Totally F'd for work tomorrow but it was worth it.... I still dig the Gallente for maximum sneak and long distance roaming, and hardcore infiltration. The Cal feels a bit weaker... and I don't run shields or armor on the spook at all so it's weird since the Cal has that one shield extender.... For me the ADV cloak is way better... I tend to cloak for long distances and that extra time really helps. It's cheap enough on my dragonfly in cost and fitting as well so it it is way better than the STD. Double posting like a Kaiser.

Didn't really do a lot other than sit under one of the alcoves cloaked most of the time. Got a few hacks on B and the CRU and killed the same scout who kept trying to cloak across the road from C to the CRU. They put up a real good fight and I even ended up getting scanned once right at the end of the match but we won. Only 2 deaths and a handful of kills but good fun was had. Molon Labe was very different. I tried to do what I used to always do and harass the enemy home point. Was very successful for about half the match but then they sent in their own scouts to combat me; either gallente or well dampened so my passive scan gal couldn't pick them up, even with 2x comp prec. Died to those damn CRs far too many times but did well nonetheless. Once a gal or two set up home in a socket, it's really damn difficult to take it back without at least 3 buddies backing you up. Definitely need to invest in something stronger than my pistol for those sneaky bastards; I'm thinking mass driver but then I'd need to get the magsec too, so that I still have both armor and shield tankers covered. Anyway, after a while more or less gave up on the outside point and went to help in the complex, which was much nicer. Could see everyone, snuck in for a cheeky cloak hack on A but a friendly heavy gunned me down trying to shoot through the objective and didn't see me in the way! lol Yeah, so had lots of fun, went up against Haerr once or twice and overall learnt a few things. I'm thinking that I might actually get that minmatar scout I've been eyeing up every since they announced the hack speed bonus but probably not for the reason everyone would think... I want to use it as my passive scanner suit! 3 highs 3 lows at proto if I'm not mistaken? 3 x comp prec would pick up all but the most dampened scouts and 3 x comp range would give me more scan range than the caldari maxed out because they only get 2 low slots. The ability to insta shoot from cloaked by switching straight to weapon without having to decloak first - if that decloak delay was mandatory before any other action could be taken, that would make a hell of a difference to the ability to cloak kill. Because the cloak takes half a second or so to disappear, it's perfectly possible to take someone out before you're even visible and recloak right back up. On the other hand, anyone who says cloaked scouts are impossible to see must have their eyes closed. That shimmer is the easiest thing to spot! I have also found that running a gk.0 with scanning mods is lacklustre in PC, during the first days of 1.8 I was sporting an advanced suit with only scanning mods on it and I was having a laugh in it. Guess people who was trying out the scout without having their electronics skills up have been getting tired of being scanned down by scouts that do have their scanning skills up because I've been seeing a lot less scouts running about. Having been scanned down when I decloaked while only having 1 complex dampener on my suit I decided to try out running with 2 complex dampeners on my suit for that match. A little less hp but being sure that I will never turn up as a red blip on anyones tac-net is pretty awesome and a huge relief from being (quite often depending on who you played against) scanned down by focused scanners in 1.7. I have to say the cloak field is really clunky to use with the mouse and keyboard, that and a mate (that CR wielding Gallente scout :) ) telling me he doesn't bother with having a cloak on all of his builds makes me think that maybe the fitting space could be better spend on other things. I'll get back to you on that one. I really wouldn't bother with the Minmatar if you are looking for a suit with better passive scans. The Caldari is the only choice for a passive scan suit and even then you have to be prepared to never being able to scan down Gallente scouts. As for running a hacksuit (not having tried out the minnie scout) I prefer knowing that I will not be scanned down by any Caldari scouts en route. A gk.0 with a complex dampener (or two) and 2~3 complex codebreakers seems to be working fine since there is little to no warning before the hack starts.
