So 17.85 is the magic number with 2 complex precision enhancers? I currently have 17.5 with one complex damp without using cloak and 8.75 while cloaked as a proto skilled Gal Scout. Are these number rounded up by chance? Does 17.85 equal a tie to 17.5 in the eyes of the code? I remember someone saying a tie goes to the person scanning.

Numbers round up to the closest whole number value I believe.
And the tie ALWAYS goes to the scanner.

I've gone back to my sidearm scout.
Six Kin SMG tears people to shreds when fluxed pre ambush.
Knives are obligatory.
Combine with the Speed, Stealth, Hack Low modules, and I am a very happy Ghost.
I had a round today where I went 5-1 and got 1500 WP. My WP have gone through the roof with this hack bonus.
Storytime:
Triple indoor letter map of Gal research Facility.
I go into Bravo (Death trap objective) and see the horde of heavies moving to take supply depot (The hack had just finished.)
They all were leaving, so I just kept tabs on them with passive scans while cloaked.
I waited until I saw the gunfight go down over by supply.
I hacked the objective in 5s and ran. I then went to Charlie (Right across from Bravo) and took that as well.
Then I hooked around, took CRU and headed up to Alpha. Stab Heavy guard, hack Alpha, jump down.
Head into the underground supply depot. Hack that.
I notice that they had just started to hack charlie.
So I hack Bravo

Dont get why the cal/gal scan scout is considered to be OP, its very well balanced VS the ability to tank. One has to consider that its a very niche role to be a scan scout also.

A Scout can focus on tank, speed, or stealth / ewar. Those claiming that Scouts are invisible and fast at 1000 HP are mistaken.
Glad to read that Heavies and Scouts are healthy. Assaults will soon be brought up to par and we'll be closer than ever to Chrome-like balance. We've made a lot of progress over the past few builds; wasn't long ago that everyone ran Logi + Duvolle.

The weakness of a shield tank is that it has less health than an armor tank. A way to overcome this is to increase damage output. So if damage mods were moved to low slots, the counter to shield tanking's weakness would be available without decreasing how much you can tank.
To balance this, armor tanking's weakness (reduced movement and sprint speed) will need its counter moved to high slots. That means either cardiac regulators or kincats will need to become high slot mods. |

I need to give my respect to those who use the cloak expertly. Got knifed 6 times this morning and on my death screen I saw them recloak. There's a lot of shimmer when moving but rotating does nothing to it. The battlefield seems to be
40% Heavy (S&C) 40% Scout 20% Medium
So many FotM players but many appear to be trying roles that didn't exist before. I need more sp to adv my scout suits. Amarr, Cal, and Gal all have their merits to me.
Also, does flux deactivate cloaks? It should in my opinion, provided it isn't spammed.

Nothing breaks cloak apart from the cloak user themselves.
It would make sense for fluxes to do it too but I don't think it's an urgent necessity in any way.

I feel it should as well, but the thought of a lucky flux removing my ability to hide and stripping me of my only real defense at the same time is absolutely terrifying.
I like the idea someone else mentioned for the cloak to act as a sort of EM shielding. When hit with the flux, it would drain the cloaks meter first and then damage the suit's shield. |

Rather see a new Nade that disrupts Cloak, Tacnet, Scanner, Hardeners and such. An ECM Nade specific to purpose so it's a choice to fit it and not disadvantage shields.

Cloaks: Are they a Scrub tool for Scrub scouts? Or are they powerful tools when used correctly, and terrible when used wrong?

I actually disagree this build.
My Min Scout has been tearing it up. I run Diverse low slots, and while my eHP is lower, I can still dodge almost all scans, all Cal Scouts not running two precisions, Run Faster than 90% of scouts, and hack in 5 seconds.
On top of running 350 eHP and having 210 Melee with a Six Kin SMG and Proto Knives.
I love my build

Yes but a gal can get nearly the same build with a far better scan range and a REAL gun.
