awesome! You guys set a date? Negative. Locale TBD, Date by Locale. We intend to elope. Here is where you guys can help :-) Anything this side of the Atlantic is off the table. We've done Greek Isles and United Arab Emirates already. Must be appropriately "exotic" ... nice beach is a plus. Currently considering Socotra Island (Yemen) and Casablanca (Morocco). Help me find the perfect spot :-) The Cairns suggestion is awesome but no beach.. Unless you want to be a crocodile dinner. They have a cool public pool though. The diving is fun. My girl and I always go to Kona side on the big island of Hawaii as a go to for chill atmosphere, good weather, and nice beaches. It's pretty romantic too. Congrats again! Would love to pick your brain on rings in squad some time. The newly or nearly wed squad . If you are going to the Mediterranean region, Croatia is cheap and nice! Easy jump to and from Italy.. Yummy food. The Cook Island or some of the other Polynesian islands and beautiful, and also very relaxed if you're looking to chill out.
@Mollerz, if you're looking for ring ideas, I'm a big fan of these http://m.mokume-gane.com/index.php#home. Same technique used for crafting the traditional katana blades. Each ring is unique, and can be customised through selection of materials. It's what my partner and I got for our wedding. |

You could always try somewhere in ireland. Despite the wind an rain places like Galway, Donegal, Mayo and Cork can be quite nice in the summer.
On the other hand, I've heard in New Zealand you can have it on a glacier.
Edit: Also, the south of France is always lovely, Tolouse could be an option, or d'ya want more exotic?

Those are hard bands to beat, actually.
Mollerz may be looking for an engagement ring specifically though... My best friend's bride got him one of those bands for their wedding as a surprise, first one on the top left, actually. It was very nice looking in person (as I'm sure you know). |

Help me find the perfect spot :-) Nice one mate - fully stoked for you. Similar things on my mind lately but probably not happening for a year or so yet - still, I've got my the ring my dad gave my mum on stand-by for if/when.
Went to a lovely wedding in Cyrpus last October - beaches aren't generally the best but lovely place and not too blazing hot that time of year. The Canary Isles are also good but I'd avoid Tenerife if you're looking for somewhere nice and quiet - maybe some areas of Gran Canaria, though again, not great beaches. If you're willing to sit through a fairly long flight, I'd highly recommend the Seyechelles. The most beautiful beaches in the world! However, pretty pricey and quite far and a slightly closer more reasonable option could be Mauritius.

Those people who rely on proto to do well quickly find their wallets running dry. If you have the skill to stay ISK positive running proto all day (like kingbabar or myself) there is no reason not to. If you play this game in squads it really sucks to be the only one is basic gear as it seems everyone steals all your kills. Solo, 30/0 in a dragonfly isn't that hard, but put at least 1 more competent person in your squad and it gets a whole lot more difficult to get those numbers- exceptions to when you are in vehicles. Though I personally get bored with that stuff fast, the only time you'll see me in proto gear in a pub match is right after I've deleted all my fits and forgotten to make new ones. But I can also keep up with my friends with like 5.0+ KDRs while in a dragonfly scout with basic shotgun The abysmal difference in skill level in this game is also why I can run around with a Plasma cannon for a light weapon and Nova Knives for a sidearm and still have a positive KDR at the end of the match

I like Babar's idea of smaller squads (at first I was like "whose the elephant?") but if you're running with proto friends and stomping the **** out of the other team again and again, my view is if you're gonna whine about it like he is, you first gotta step down your game... his idea of smaller squads was fine but he's refusing to give up the proto, running 'tests' in ADV gear, and then claiming it doesn't matter.... that's pretty weak right there.
Nah, I can't get on board with that.
o7.
And I'm talking about proto-stomping, not just wearing proto gear. I've seen plenty of us in squad wearing proto and fighting even matches or getting creamed.... and I've seen plenty of us stomp in standard gear. It's the stomp that matters, I'm not saying never wear proto.

The idea that running basic or starter fits and still doing well, if you are actually a good player, and have all the benefits of well spent sp is simply does not translate to the reality of many other people who are not in the same situation. I can do well in my dragonfly and go up against Proto squads, still having fun. With my other account that has considerably less sp, i do not do as well. While my skill as a player is one factor the amount of sp on that account has an effect through passive skills. Not easily being able to get under scanners, limited passive scan, base EHP, essentially the passive boosts that the sp gives a character does make a difference. The problem I have with what was said is essentially the false representation that it is a level playing field, which it is not. I am not saying that it necessarily should be, but it is misleading to say that it is all personal skill, or all gear, or all sp, all these factors do play into it. It reminds me of when people say "This 'insert racial minority' is successful, so the ones who aren't are just lazy" which ignores the inequalities of opportunity that the majority of the 'racial minority' faces. It oversimplifies the situation, to validate the point.
