I run by a new mode of thought I lost my gungame for some reason so to help I've been running Range Amps My ranges with X Module
52.2 Meters Complex Rane Amp 48.6 Meters Enhanced Range Amp 45 Meters Basic Range Amp
So with my Exile AR to shave ISK and the new AR (optimal?) range I can see anything in it's optimal range and then some and it's pretty helpful to operate like that, a good crutch while I limp. I recently got my profile dampening to three so now I can avoid prototype scanners. However I just recently came across a dampened Min. Medium Frame so I need some points in precision now. I guess they finally caught on.
I also recently trashed all my tanked fittings and that is hurting my KDR but I'm trying to get my movement speeds up (after some precision enhancement I will go into biotics). I am also trying to ween myself off of ADV scout and stop shield tanking.
I'm going to try G-I with dual ferros and my G/1's will be treated like they have only one high slot. There I said something.

Plasma weapons get a 10% boost against shields and a 10% decrease against armor.
Appia Vibbia wrote:Until Uprising 1.3 or 1.4 Hybrid Weapons (Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, ARs) did equal damage to shield and armor. In one of those patches they changed it to Blaster vs Rail. So you did (36-40 (depending on Weaponry level) *[number of pellets hit body] + 36-40* [pellets to head] *1.55) * [(percentage from weapon falloff) / 100]
So there is a large range of possibilities as to how you did 500 damage and a headshot.
I actually did not realize that differentiation came in so late, (I know large rails turrets are still convoluted)
in the 1.2 dev blog they had the numbers posted http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/07/weapon-ranges-in-uprising-1.2-and-beyond/

So I just got my first Recruiter reward. It is a MLT Caldari Medium BPO, 2 highs 1 low.
I've been running 1 complex damage mod & 1 enhanced damage mod. plus a basic armor repairer, with a Templar scrambler pistol a locus grenade, compact nanohive, and STD rail rifle. HIHIHIHIHIHAH So fun to wreck face in a MLT suit. Dmage mods aren't very fair, but letting people know they got taken out by a MLT suit is just so much fun.
@ Bojo yeah those proto min assaults have been using both low slots for dampeners now. It helps a lot for them, but still doesn't let them stand up in the shotgun arena compared to Gallente scout :D

Hot dang those guys can get below an Advanced scanner with one complex (and skill). Luckily for me if I max out precision (that's going to be a *****) I can get below them with a Comp Enhancer. Lucky me and by a hair. If they stack Comp dampeners and if I stack comp precision enhancers, they will beat me out. *sigh* this is precisely why I avoided skilling into precision but it's doubtful if medium frames even use dual complex dampeners (unless hella intense match with Proto scanners pew pew)

The grind to get precision and range enhancement up is pretty frustrating. Most of my fits forgo all tank mods to make room for precision, range and biotics. And sometimes I still get wrecked by organized squads, hardcore scanners or people running around with dual complex profile dampeners.
It's in those games that I think: man, why don't I just throw on some shields and armor and just spend more time being paranoid and looking around more often?? Or just run a scanner myself.....?

Not this month. Really, the people putting out those posts right now are just going to have to repost them later when people actually go "huh, I guess that is happening soon." Right now, just having it in my signature is enough to get people to think about me and relate my posting on the forums and what I've been like in game as a starting point.
Also, I enjoy writing to the point that whatever I post people will mostly ignore because it will be too long. I mean, I just made a post here about Shotgun vs EHP that was very long.

So, how about those new racial bonuses?
More specifically, the new Gallente logi bonus: +10% to active scanner visibility duration and +5% to active scanner precision per level.
I'm hoping I'm remembering some numbers wrong, but if I'm not, this means that not even a fully skilled scout would be able to escape a Gallogi-wielded proto scanner without equipping at least two profile dampeners.
The Gallogi with the suit at proto level would get 28*0.75= 21 dB scan precision.
A fully skilled scout would get a scan profile of 45 * 0.9 * 0.75 = 30.375.
Adding a complex dampener would lower this to 22,78125, still well above the Gallogi scan precision.
I would assume that adding another dampener would get it below 21, but since I can't remember how they stack, I couldn't say what level it would have to be at. In any case, having to pile on dampener upon dampener to achieve what's supposed to be a scout's main forte - even fully stealth skilled - is just preposterous.
And to add insult to injury, the scanner's visibility duration gets a hefty 50% hike, meaning we'll be on the enemy's radar more or less permanently.
I really hope either of the following is true:
- The numbers that Aeon Amadi has pulled are bogus or temporary, and will change before released
- These changes come with a lowered base scan profile for scouts, still allowing us to hide from most proto scanners
- The scanners get a significantly longer cooldown period
If not, we have yet another indirect scout nerf on our hands. The Gallogi isn't exactly an unpopular dropsuit to begin with. |

What I mean is that the "total damage" done is usually not calculated based on how much damage you actually do. It would be based on total HP of the target. I have not done any testing, this is just from EVE experience. Basically eHP /=/ damage done.
New racial skills comes as not big surprise that scouts get "forgotten".........again.
I hope CCP is nerfing the scanners into the ground a bit, so only GalLogi can use them well. Basically I hope they nerf them so that a proto gal logi gets what a scanners stats is currently.
I would hope they give a respec as I wouldnt want to have SP in gal logi any more. I would actually want to put that into Winmitar logi and go full winmitar form now on.

Can't remember what the e in eHP means at the moment, but it is referring to total hp amounts since we have both shield hp and armor hp. It may also consider resistances.
Edit: e = effective?

But surely if someone would refer to just the one they'd specify armour or shield, making the e redundant in specifying your are talking about both

Yea effective HP. It has to deal with resistances to different weapons.
So if you stack shields and someone is hitting you with CR you have more eHP than if someone shoots you with a AR.
Thats why its nice to have a shield weapon and armor weapons (AR/SMG) fitted. Get though shields with AR then switch to SMG once you hit armor. You do 10% more damage this way....a free dmg mod. Source: http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/11/weapons-of-uprising-1.7/
Edit............huh, rail rifle is bonuses to armor.....I thought it was shields....

Yea I donno why I thought that TBH. Probably cause its caldari tech. But even in EVE rail ammo is therm/kinetic, so mostly armor dmg.

As others have mentioned, if this is the final 1.8 skill and suit list then my concerns are:
1.) The Gal Logi scan precision and scan time bonus (without scout re-tuning this will make scouts less effective)
2.) The commando weapon damage bonus - I always get nervous when high HP suits talk about damage bonuses as it makes them harder for scouts to kill and further widens the gap in effectiveness between scout suits and the suits in question (at least they are not putting this on an assault suit like many assaults have suggested)
2a.) Same as above related to sentinel damage resistance bonus. Guess I need to use that one high slot for a damage mod now.... don't sweat it though, I got so many slots to spare!!! (On my logi-suit....)
3.) No light frame suits
4.) No talk of any scout tweaks in the previous post from Saberwing
I'll reserve judgement until we get 1.8 patch notes, but it sure looks like this is par for the course.... scout mode goes from challenging -> hard -> superhard -> near impossible -> LOL want to help the enemy team? Use a scout suit.... |
