I was originally a pro gal logi for PC games only....since scouts are useless in PC games.
The reason for the hate is because its not in line with what we originally had. I def understand the annoyance factor involved here though. We lose innate armor repair for a bonus to scanners.
The logi bonuses are totally different that what they were originally, which I expected. However, I imagine this will also come with a PG/CPU nerf to keep slayer logis out of the question. Coupled with the loss of innate repair, only the true "logistics" players will use these suits.
Im totally fine with all the changes they are doing as long as people are allowed a respec
At that rate, I think I will start burning though all my proto gal suits in hopes of a respec, last respec they did not refund any "assets" to the player. So most of it will be useless if you move out of a role.

I'm not sure how I feel about respecs.
Players have been able to pad their kdr by using a support fit as a slayer. Now that another option is available, should they get a 100% refund after having benefited from the suit for the better part of a year? Will CCP reduce their kills and WP total as well?
Nobody should be shocked that 1. the logi role bonus is getting changed and 2. there are other slayer-oriented suits coming out. They aren't REMOVING the old logi suits, just finally nerfing it like they did the flaylock.
Am I just wasting my time by NOT going the route of FOTY and then demanding a respec when the new shiny comes out?
Somebody with eve experience in this matter please weigh in.

As a Gallente slayer logi, I feel qualified to answer this question.
They will perhaps be worse of primarily due to the loss of the inherent 5 HP/s. This may mean that some will fit a report instead of a plate and due to the increased fitting requirements of reps over plates this may have other effects on the fit.
However, make no mistake, the logistics will still be an excellent slayer. Every logi is capable of out tanking, out damaging and outfitting the assault variant. The loss of certain bonuses may hurt the Amarr and Minmatar logis if they were being used for specific roles (e.g. minlogi speed hackers) but the equipment fitting bonus and new bonuses may aid them. The 25% reduction to fitting requirements for equipment greatly helps the class fit equipment. I have no objection to this but judging by my Gallogi it eases the resources a lot.
Then there are things like the actual equipment bonuses. You're going to be painted for 36 seconds at 21db in some cases. Scanners on Gallogis are not going to be feasible to avoid without horribly gimping your suit. The others may not affect you very much, but that will be a serious concern.
In conclusion - for scouts, the difference will probably not be noticeable. However, we are going to be scanned a lot more.

As an FYI, when you scan me I'll just move AWAY from your squad and go find another to cherry pick...or target you intentionally. I know how you like to suit on equipment so you won't see an enemy RE... =) The scanner bonus does seem good for a logi supporting a stomp squad, but you can't get scanner bonus AND kill assist, which sucks.

I'm predicting, as others have, a significant reduction to CPU/PG to reduce ability to fit modules and weapons. With the current changes pictured, mods will be easier to fit (especially with the ever PG starving Amarr Logi) as the equipment will cost less PG/CPU, thus leaving more left over for good mods.

They'll still have more PG/CPU, more mod slots, and more equipment slots, so they will still be better than Assaults. As for Commandos, I think we'll have to feel those changes to decide if they'll be OP or not.

Maybe leave PG, and cut CPU by the same 25%. How would that affect your loadout? Those with FW specialist gear may not be affected, but most others would starts running a lot more adv gear.
Scouts currently give up sidearm, grenades and equipment to fit mods, and vice versa. It might bring a tear to my eye to see logi's having to make the same decision.
How does Eve have support ships that don't outclass the others?

I dont think people are shocked about the changes, but when you went into a suit for a specific bonus, when they change that it means a great deal to your play style. Losing 25% hack bonus is huge to min logi. Especially if they treated it as a fast scout suit. Now its a repair logi suit. Huge difference there. I think its reasonable to offer a respec for that change.
Historically I don't believe EVE players have ever had a respec. If skills are removed they get the SP back, but not if new skills or added or bonuses change. I think this is likely because its MUCH easier to move from one role to another in EVE (couple days) as opposed to Dust were it takes months of grinding.

I'd be cutting my Armor Repairer (probably) to Advanced, and I might even have to cut my Ishukone Flux Hives to a K-2 for my PC fit. Worst case scenario- I have to cut out all equipment except my Wyirkomi Triage Nanohives so that I can get those things down, or I have to have little to no tank for my Uplink suit :(

Anyways, thanks for being the logi ambassador to out humble scout thread! Honestly, yes. In this super speed TTK game, I'd much rather have 1000+ HP than have 3 equipment slots. Besides, I'm going Caldari Assault, which will get +5% PER LEVEL of Shield Extender efficiency :D I can get 600+ Shields and drop equipment if I want to. I'm hoping you are right and everyone does the same...because everyone will respond by running SCR which will bump my ehp by at least 30. Yay.

Well I knew few of the changes I did not expect them to change due to time constraints on other missing features. At least one massive complaint of the CPM was well heard at least.

basic shield extender is 22HP, basic armor plate is 65HP I'd say Caldari and Gallente are the most prevalent types within them. So lets Shield tank the Caldari and Armor tank the Gallente.
And we'll say Armor Upgrades and Shield Upgrades levels are equal to the suit's pre-reqs.
STD suit: 189/189 A-1, 220/126 C-1, 126/220 G-1, 157/141 M-1
44 shields, 65 armor, 1 repper. Caldari now has 264/192HP and the Gallente have 170/286.
ADV: 207/207 A/1-Series, 241/138 C/1-Series, 138/241 G/1-Series, 172/155 M/1-Series Slots: 2H2L A/1-Series, 3H/2L C/1-Series, 2H3L G/1-Serie, 3H2L M/1-Series
ADV shield are 33HP(35) and Armor is 115HP(122) +6% from skill
Our Gallente and Caldari are going to use 1 repper and shields and plates of their level. 346/260 Caldari and 208/485 for Gallente
PRO: 225/225 ak.0, 262/150 ck.0, 150/262 gk.0, 187/168 mk.0 Slots: 3H3L ak.0, 4H3L ck.0, 3H4L gk.0, 4H2L mk.0
PRO shields are 66 (72) and PRO plates are 135 (148)
Now I'll be a little more realistic in builds. My ck.0 is 2 complex damage mods and 2 complex shield Extender, With 2 enhanced plate. and 1 complex repairer in the Low. My gk.0 is full Combat, So 3 complex damage mods for that oh-so-fun TTK, 3 complex plates, and a reppairer.
ck.0 HP is 406/402. The gk.0 is 150/706
Lets look at Shotgun Damage. 40, 42, and 44 (with 12 pellets each: 480, 504, and 528)
With +10% to shield and -10% to armor.
264/192HP for caldari vs 480 damage. well, that's more like 237/211 because of the damage type. 237+211= 448. STD shotgun kills a C-1 assault with basic HP.
170/286 for Gallente vs 480. adjusted = 153/314. 153+314= 467 so OHK again.
ADV: 346/260 Caldari modified to 311/286. 597EHP. 2 shots to kill on any shotgun
and 208/485 modified to 187/533 = 720. so 2 shots with any shotgun.
PRO 406/402. modified 365/442 = 807. Again, 2 shots from any shotgun.
The gk.0 is 150/706 becomes 135/776 so 911EHP. 2 shots on any shotty. But, swaping damage mods for shield extenders on teh Assault gk.0 can give you enough to survive 2 shots from basic shotty but not enough for ADV or PRO.
Logi's are pretty much the same on STD and ADV, but Gal and Cal can take up to 3 shots on any shotgun if fully tanked. which happens a lot.
So the takeaways from this are....shotgun tier doesn't really matter much. For just about every situation against a proto suit you need minimum 2 body shots (assuming all pellets hit). Changing the tier of the weapon doesn't actually help that much, though you may OHK a few more ADV suits by using a proto shotgun.
This doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me when you also compare the cost differential between the tiers.
