Hi Mossellia, thank you for your reply. I meant to say that regarding warpoints I get allot more playing logi than my scout, can end up number 1 on the leaderboards even going 0/0. As scout this is much more difficult, lots of warpoints can be gathered if only a few droplinks are placed by your team.
And playing skirmish allot of warpoints can be gathered by hacking. I mostly play solo, are often on the receiving end of protostomping which leaves lots of stuff to hack behind the red dots and droplinks placed strategically can break the redline and avoid a boring match. My yellow colored logi will light up and attract the protostompers attention and I rarely get to live long, not to mention scouts sneaking around shooting my logi in the back.
The scout is just my preferred suit playing pubs and against proto squads. Your view is probably different if you are used to play in the proto squads doing the protostomping, I have only little experience with that. |

Thanks for the tips Appia, I've got a corpmate who is amazing with his gal.logi+SCR and he always seems to have a lot of fun with it! Though I am a bit reluctant to spec into an other suit before I see how the new rifles perform.
Currently I've got level 5 gallente scout and level 1 gallente assault & level 1 gallente logistics. I've got 30+mil SPs and will be getting quite a few back from vehicles in 1.7. I think I'll just put the SPs into the few remaining skills I need to finish of my scout suit and then hold on to the rest of the SPs for the time being.
Oh and Shotty I'm running scout close to 50% of the time if you wouldn't mind you could put me back on the registry for posterity's sake - with or without a line through my name.
(Oh and if you are wondering where the rest of my SPs are: AR Prof:3, Sniper Prof:3, Shotgun Prof:4, SMG Prof:4 + Loads of core & support skills at 5.)

Cass Caul wrote:Shotty is no longer maintaining the killboard. The front page has died. Continuing discussion as normal though. Also, this is one of those times (once in a blue moon) that Aeon is correct. Those Shield Extender penalties needed to be in the game since the inception. Right now armor is in favor because all but the shotgun, sniper rifle and SMG do more damage to shields than to armor. Armor vs Shield tanking will be balanced (by frequency, not effectiveness) by the release of the RR and CR. Expect to see the Shield Extender numbers buffed in 1.10 (that should be 2.0, but that sounds like a new build and not just another patch)
Thanks for the explanation man. Still yet to look back through what went down. Glad we're still able to post here - I thought we wouldn't be able to.
I'm so mad right now - but you guys saying you're still here to stay, still gonna play scout, I'm with you. Those brothers who have left us over the months, maybe we'll see them again one day. I suspect they put up with hard-mode longer than I have, and finally this was too much.
As for Aeon being correct, he may be from a balancing eHP-tanking point of view - the problem I have is it's nerfed scouts. Don't really care how much. We're leaving because of balance changes like this. |

Not a math or dust wiz so dont take as law:
16 * 1.3 * 1.5 = 31.2
With Complex Range mods: 31.2 * 1.45 * 1.45 = 65.598

I believe it is
Base range = 16 Base + Gal lvl 3 = 16 = 20.8 Base + Gal3 + Range5 = 27.04 Base + Gal3 + Range5 + 1xCmp Range = 39.208 Base + Gal3 + Range5 + 2xCmp Range = 54.381 Base + Gal3 + Range5 + 3xCmp Range = 68.33 Base + Gal3 + Range5 + 4xCmp Range = 77.03

So, 57.4m for gallente 3
And an aside to Ivy:
Yeah, I was very happy with my valor scout. Then I got complex shields. which made all the difference. Plus TT3 pistol. That made me run ADV suit all the time. Both for the fact that it lets me use 2xcomplex shields, and also that it has the extra power neccessary to run TT3 + adv knives + R9 uplink All The Time. Makes a huge difference to both my longevity, and my battle rankings. Mo' uplinks, Mo' points :)
I still dont have enough power/cpu to run everything I want though. For example, I cant run 2xcmp shields, TT3, knives, 2xbasic reactive, AND ADV scanner. I have to knock one shield down to advanced. sigh.
I have a full-bpo valor fit, with BPO of: suit, AR, pistol, 2xarmor (or 1armor, 1 rep) but even though its free, i dont run it any more. and I still end up making positive ISK most battles. |

I don't like Gallente Assault, because I have a Gallente Scout. Scout is 1 high & 4 low. the Assault is 3 high and 4 low. the Logi is 3 high and 5 low. Gallente is all about the low lots. Having the same number as the scout, you really feel sluggish without much gain. You also are detected by ADV scanners. Better for a Scout or former Scout just run the scout suit as a miniature Assault than get used to being slow and obvious.

It needs to be:

And one per account only.
Towards this end, I have opened a stealth-titled post,

Please note it is not titled : "We are going to bomb support with this". Let's keep it that way.
Please also note the rules at the top of the thread:

I was running new fits yesterday, and I think I've stumbled upon something I hadn't considered before. CPU mods. I never wanted to give up a low slot just so I could have more CPU, but it actually works.
All variations of the M/1- 1L- Complex Kin Cat 2L- CPU Mod - Enhanced if I can get away with it, or Complex. 1&2H- Comp Shield extenders
Flux nades Compact nano
Then I run the following weapon combos: shotty- Duvolle spec + core flaylock subby- six kin + IshNoks
and my personal fav: arrrRRR- Gek + IshNoks (48K ISK)
I have to manage my stamina like a mofo, but in the end I was ripping it up and went positive K/D every game. The sacrifice of the green jar really becomes worth running full slots all with complex as well as proto level weapons.

Since I dont have complex kincats unlocked, its not worth me putting a red pill in a low slot.

Meh. I tried advanced on an alt. I was underwhelmed. militia is good enough. I guess its kinda like shields. Its not worth even unlocking shield extenders (other than the fitting reduction I guess), unless you go all the way to proto. then it's pretty good.
On my main, I have higher priorities. Such as scrambler pistol ops 5, proficiency 5, fitting 5 |

I am accounting for stacking penalty. The difference between our numbers is how multiple modules are handled. I assume multiplicative (like the dust fitting tool) while the wikia assumes additive.
Multiplicative:
16 * 1.3 * 1.5 * 1.45 * (1 + 0.45 * 0.86) = ~62.747
Additive:
16 * 1.3 * 1.5 * (1 + 0.45 + 0.45 * 0.86) = ~57.314

The one thing I really dislike about medium suits is that they are so easily scanned down, most of the time when I get the 'you've been scanned' message I just switch back to a scout suit. I've been considering the gallente-& minmatar logistics suit but I'm afraid that I would only be speccing into one of them to have a "better scout suit".
Once you've played a scout suit enough to have changed play style to match it, it gets a lot more difficult to pick up an other role. At least that is how I feel, it might be that I've simply grown so familiar with the scout suit that I try to play the other suits as if they are scout suit - though I won't deny that having access to a logi suit would really help out with the start of match uplink spam. And not all maps are all too friendly for scouts, maybe just having more options availible would make Dust more fun to play?

Got to the closing announcement a little late but just wanted to throw in my sorrow to the rather over-flowing pot. Perhaps the thread should be renamed to some sort of Scout Memorial?
Scouts United will remain our hangout though, even if the killboard is no longer updated - it will serve as a reminder to how great the scout community in Dust514 is; because it is true, we are the best people that exist in this game.
And moving onto the more recent discussion of CPU mods - so very very useful. I have to use a basic or militia on most of my fits to be able to stack two complex damage mods with either my swarms or pistol/SMG combo and then I can fit a complex armor rep too. With electronics maxed and PG to level 4, I can fit some basic equipment and flux nades too. Love my scout fits and can't ever imagine running anything else.
Peace out to Shotty and all the other fallen brothers and sisters o7

[Title] The Scout [Body] Here lies the scout, a beautiful creature that was doomed from the start. Due to neglect it met it's tragic death. An emotional shaking could also have done them in; it is hypothesized it lost a figurehead to look to. Here lies the scout, a forever rare breed, that was once a curious sight on the battlefield. It was said to be hyper-aggressive, resorting to simple blades, pistols, and other small short ranged weapons. Some were thought to wield a Sniper rifle but due to a small sample size this couldn't be verified. Rumor has it some estranged scouts survived and continue to walk the battlefield in the unseen and it would be hard to prove such rumors true since the scout was rumored to be very slick and hard to detect.

i used to think the logi for uplinks thing.. until I noticed that the ADV uplinks let you have more than 1 active at a time. SO, I use those, drop 2, remember where I put them... then usually by the time I die, one of them has been cleared, so I just drop another one, or two as need be.
As far as maps go... Some maps are more scout-friendly than others. However, I think that all maps have places where scouts can shine.
it just so happens that each map requires different techniques.
Some maps are mostly city, so, you know.. do the sneaky thing around corners :)
Some maps are a mix, so you can select the most appropriate objective to defend, or something.
Some maps are spread widely apart, which means it's terrible when your team suddenly loses all spawn points on the other side of it. Particulary when there is insanely good proto AV or something on the other team... unless there's a fast, sneaky, patient scout who can run around the "long way", and go drop an uplink behind enemy lines. There's almost always some "long way" that isnt being watched. If you can drop TWO instead of just one, then it's even better. |
