It is about support, you support them when you can and they support you when you need it.
Right now, in this build you are not in a position to support them the way you feel that you should, though I bet they will support you. It's not about dependence it's about interdependence.
If you say that you can't adapt, it will only make it harder to see how you are adapting. It is not always an active process, we adapt constantly in our lives, often without realizing it.
You are one tough scout, I know because my alt has rolled with you before (we even had a moment in the warbarge. Blink

Hell, 99% dragonfly scout, actually..... I've run a caldari medium 4-5 times experimenting around with medium stealth fits, but it just doesn't feel right. I've got too much need; need for speed....

I die a lot to ARs and grenades but the game is unfair. Anyways, it's how I want to be playing. I like to be not the vanilla, nor chocolate, but the pistachio icecream if you know what I mean. If the Amarr and Cal appeal to me, I'll get those suits too, I'm really liking the 4 L slots though. Let's also remember that a lot of folks are going to die more and more to scout suits. I also predict that we will die alot and I mean a lot less in the future. So keep ya'll heads up scouties.

I started out with a medium suit and did OK with it. Although when I started I was a pretty terrible player. Then I got my scout suit and everything changed. My gun game improved and I became much more adaptable which ultimately improved my in game performance.

Mostly I did about average and burned through a lot of ISK, even in my standard suits. But in one game man I was on-fire... I got 3 pistol headshots on jerks in LAVs.... it was awesome. Especially destroying that logi LAV afterwards. That was the kinda game that makes me think if they ever buff scouts there is going to be much QQ on the forums when our skills combine with effective suits to make a bunch of OP scout players. You guys that do awesome all the time will be seriously infamous.

I couldn't see playing any other way. If you accept your limitations you go beyond them

I'm currently skilling into the Gal Scout, I'm only lv2 atm, but it will probably be my primary focus until I have proto. I'm not sure yet if I'll be using it enough to qualify for the required 50%, but I have been enjoying my Dragonfly quite a bit (although, not without a small hit to my KD). Add me now if you want, I've been using mostly the Dragonfly for the past few days and plan on continuing. I'll have a verdict once I get a chance to run the Gk0 for a while.
