Shotgun hit detection feels slightly better. Didn't get a chance to play around with Nova Knives much, but there was a delay between when I landed a stab to when the damage was applied of about two seconds from what I saw. Will play with them more later when I get a chance to sit down for an hour or more. |

In solo play I average around 1400 WP... mostly from a very aggressive installation hacking habit, dropping uplinks like a fiend and whipping out a swarm scout whenever I see a tank or two. I act as an autonomous unit in my squad, which typically consists of myself and two friends who run logistics fits.
I rounded out the last battle with approximately 400 war points. Not because I sucked too terribly, though it was by no means my best play of all time, but because most things were killed, hacked or controlled efficiently and quickly and were defended well enough to keep them from being brought back to red. I was out-scouted.
I hope one day to pull 23/0 or similarly outstanding matches as effortlessly as Shotty makes it seem. For now I will be content to go 12/6 and call it a good match.
Maybe next time I squad with a dedicated scout group I will have a properly functioning mic and won't be at my girlfriend's place... having to hand over the controller before you're done is no fun. At least I can backseat hack while my girlfriend plays on her account.
Thanks for the rounds, scouts! Playing with other scouts is a blast, and it really helps you see how important certain aspects of scouting are. Playing with Shotty made me realize that learning how to cook nades is paramount when playing as a scout. They are excellent ways to start an engagement with an enemy, as it will either kill them outright, or horridly wound them. It's really the only way to engage an opponent that knows you are there. Run around a corner, get some distance, cook the nade, then jump out and toss it at their feet. Playing with Lightning vXv showed me how to run a shotgun. You gotta know when it is okay to rush em, and when you should run away or flank. He knows when he can rush the target, which is why you see those huge killfeeds with him. He will see three people, and only one will see him. He sprints up and takes out the target that is aware of him, and then gets the other 2 afterwards. The list goes on and on.
Yeah Gh0st C0de, I was in there with you, trust me you're not the only one humbled. 12/6 is a good match for me too ;-)
The last match I played, I was like 2-1-7. Got owned by some proto-suits in a city before we changed objectives and got out of there. Did a little better in the latter part of the battle, but when I looked at the kill boards at the end, I wanted the ground to swallow me. I'm at 2-1-7, and most of the others, Shotty, Bojo, etc., were all at the top in the 20s for 4s. Luckily I was soo bad that you couldn't see me in the list without scrolling down LMAO.
Pretty sure those guys aren't running proto, so I should have equivalent advanced fits.
Anyway, yeah, I realised I need to squad with all you guys as much as possible now when I'm not running solo, and improve my game - bigtime. My situational awareness needs work - I'm not sure when to rush and when not to (shotgun scout), and I think I probably rush way too much. I can put my finger on a couple of instances where I blazed through three at once that hadn't seen me, but I didn't recognise that I could - I was gonna try do it anyway.
Best thing I can do if I don't drag y'all down too much is squad and learn :D |

Plan to do something similar today, but with a proto SG (for testing) ... will downgrade plates to fit it.

The Gallente FW battles were fun. 30 more battles to go.
I haven't had any blue-shield or 0-damage shots so far, but a lot seems to only do partial damage... like 6 shots at 10m to kill a 500HP suit Might just be lag though. That seems to be getting worse. |

Nope. Was still having problems with the NKs earlier. Damage not registering, damage that did register was delayed by two to three seconds, blue shield strikes up the wazoo, unable to damage moving targets even if I stab them directly in the eye socket. Pretty much the same complaints as usual with the knives.
Shotguns on the other hand feel more fluid to me. Could just be imagining it though as it is very subtle. |

I've noticed slight improvements to the Shotgun; fairly certain it isn't my imagination. Interested to hear if you guys have similar observations ...
Stationary targets seem to take damage more reliably than before. Backpedaling or distanced targets seem to take damage at slightly longer range ... not much damage, but enough to finish an HP-critical target. Also, I suspect I'm landing shots on "bunny hoppers" more frequently than before, though I haven't encountered it enough to say with certainty.
I'm still having problems hitting medium-frame "super" strafers at 3-10 meters. Always seem to land the first shot, but whiff every shot to follow once they start their little hipfire jig. |

I don't have proto suits yet. But I do field one hell of an advanced suit. So don't take my ADV fit lightly
My mainstay suit as of today:
1x Complex Shield 1x Basic Shield
1x M209 Assault SMG 1x GN-20 Specialist Flaylock
1x C-17 Flux
1x Enhanced Kincat 1x Enhanced Stamina
I also swtich out the Flaylock for knives when I need to. I have to drop my basic shield for it though |

It's me again
OH BOY, ANOTHER BOJO THING OH BROTHER
So this LOS thing has been sucking the life out of my goat related thoughts for a while now. Why doesn't profile effect it!? I think I have come up with a solution, a simple equation:
LOS Scan Range = 80 (Basal) x (1-Difference in Profile/Precision Divided by ten) *Note* Differences can be negative and would thus result in addition rather than subtraction Here are some example scenarios:
Scout vs Assault 80 x 0.9 (Scout Profile 45, Assault Precision 55) =72 meters
Scout vs. Heavy 80 x 0.85 =68 meters
Assault vs. Scout 80 x 1.05 = 84 meters
Assault vs. Logi 80 x 1 = 80 meters
Heavy vs. Scout 80 x 1.15 =92 meters *Note* The scout is a Light Frame, with no dampening/precision skills.
Basically this gives scouts an edge in LOS detection while leaving Logistics practically unharmed in fighting mediums. However I can't say that this is a sure fire way to go about LOS detection. I wanted to incorporate weapon ranges somehow so snipers could see down their scope but I couldn't come up with one on the top of my head. I also was thinking that Scan Radius should have something to do with this but in light of the Gallente Scout Racial Bonus, I believe it would be too biased.
All I know is that this would be a step in the right direction. Most weapons don't even compete at 80 meters so why should the average doo-dah pick someone up at 80 meters? I just wanted to run this by scouts for some peer review. |

A few thoughts on range:
- There is unscoped versus scoped... perhaps use a ratio of worst scan precision to precision worn for adjusts?
- I do think people should be able to see further than their weapon range. It's useful. |

For those too lazy to read, it will be 6v6 domination with 80 clones.
I think a good 6 man scout squad can win in Domination if we play right. Vehicles AREN'T allowed, so we will always get the hack first.

Pretty much my observation. My shots were connecting but if latency was a problem there was a much noticeable delay. Shots on target ALWAYS connected but sometimes connected w a delay. That I'm just chalking up to latency.
Now, for the KB/M ADADADAD super strafers. A lot of people say there is no difference in strafing, as I've used both over the last few builds this is entirely not true. ADADAD spam may not put you in a linear direction faster but will allow people to change directions faster than flipping your thumb. With this super jig it definitely seems to break hit detection like the speed tanked suits of pre-1.4. Very very very annoying with heavies that you know you should have taken down.
I've gotten so used to just putting the SG away for the rest of the match after running into one of these that I generally don't try a second time. I just switch to SMG and pistol. However I also run into the problem of these shots not connecting at first either. Both the SMG and Pistol will also give hit indicators and no damage for the first part of clips but you at least have more distance and ammo in a clip with these.
Overall the SG has gotten better from my observations but we're still suffering from a few minor problems now. This is very good in my opinion as there are even less bugs to iron out, thus less situations that we can get mad that we get robbed of kills. Now when I die I can chalk it up to getting out played, a bad decision on my part, or me just totally wiffing my shots. |

Absolutely loving the scan assist WPs today - got at least 600wp from one ambush earlier.
Sadly I'm away for a week from Saturday, so there's no point in even trying to do the FW event, which is a real shame because that sounds like you guys are having a blast.
But fully up for getting a scout squad in the tourny - we'd kick ass by beating the enemies to the objectives and then chasing to rehack anything they did manage to get. |
