Shotgun isn't really balanced. Alpha strike weapons in general aren't. Each weapon increases from STD to ADV by 5% and from ADV to PRO by another 5%.
In situations with a DPS rifle the effects are very noticeable. But in alpha strike weapons, it's all about the number of volleys to kill. A 10% damage difference really doesn't offer a change in the number of shots to kill
Swarms and Forge Guns are fine though, because their lack of progression is matched to the vehicle's lack of progression.
CreoDron is hitting where it should. Allotek is way off the mark. Shotgun is OP. Breach Shotgun in on par.

Actually, I think a good compromise would be to seriously reduce the scan radius when the cloak is active (something that CCP Rattati hinted will be coming, perhaps in 1.9?). This would mean a scouts role would be to provide Intel to its squad, but have to be uncloaked to do so.
I have to admit I sometimes run a Caldari scout (proto) with boosted precision and shotgun for the giggles. Running around invisible and 20/20 vision on everybody else (even some cloaked scouts) is fun.... Broken, but fun |

Thanks for the heads up, I might have missed it but is there a list of talking points you're wanting ideas or suggestions on for 1.9?
Is it possible to get a fluctuating market set up? Where things like supply/demand can alter price but have it all calculated server side?
I'm not an EvE player but I understand something like that already exists. Or am I wrong?
What I'm thinking of is a situation where running a prototype RR or CR would be more expensive than a Proto Laser... until people cotton on and start using the laser and then the price goes up as it becomes more popular. People like me, sitting on massive gear stockpiles could ride this economic wave for fun and profit, buying and selling (this is what I've been wanting to do since before I even first played Dust ).
When you log in you could get your market report, with lots of interesting graphs to poke over and decide what weapons you're gonna buy and sell. Will have to be careful to make sure it doesn't become PC lock down levels of exploitation.

That's complete bullshit. The cloak is easy to see in all lighting conditions. If you think lighting condition effect visibility I suggest 2 things: Change you're settings to 720p and play on a monitor larger than 10"

Sad that I don't have the 3 strange coins to purchase Truth. Best Rocket Launcher in the game. And I prefer Rockets to HMG. Too often in PvP to I die with ammo left, too often do I die in PvE because it's too inaccurate, due to recoil, to have better DPS than an Auto Rifle

Yes, because any scout that uses any HP mod is instantly brick tanking. . . If dampeners were more powerful more people would use them. If they're dedicating low-slots to dampeners, they are incapable of brick tanking.

One of the suggestions that keeps coming up here is removing shared squad sight, but keeping it for active scanners. The problem with being scanned by passive EWAR (as I see it) is that you got scanned by a scout sitting over to the side but all his heavy friends can see you too.
By removing shared passives, if a scout has to sacrifice mods to see you it reduces their combat capibility, sure they have the EWAR advantage but the assault has the HP advantage. None of us are happy with 900hp scouts running around. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone here running >550 hp on a proto suit, and there are some believe >350 hp is too much.
I for one dropped running a Shotgun (my bread and butter) in 1.8 when it became apparent it was the weapon of choice for FotM chasers and I refused to be part of that group.
Whatever you seem think this place is, it's not. I don't know what conversations are going on outside of here because I just dont care, the Dust forums sit slightly above 4chan levels for impotent nerd rage for me, so I don't bother. If people from here are coming out and trolling you, they are not representative of the whole.
Maybe some people here would disagree with what I said, we're not a unified whole, we argue with each other just as much as with anyone else. This is not a "circle jerk".

That's why when anyone talks about balance, you guys justifying keeping them as they are in some manner. Most scouts seem to run nothing but scout and so can't really be taken seriously for balance while players like myself have many things at proto, so I can see how flawed a lot of you guys logic is, its always scout perception vs everything else rather than how everything plays out with you guys for the most part, one sided logic........
There's even someone in this thread saying shotguns are awful?, you guys never cease to amaze me. If you want to be in a clique, you'll get tied with the same brush.
I'd say there's a handful of you who know what you are talking about at best.

Bad Juju, Invective, pocket infinity, supergood advice, gallajahorn (random drop), Suros (XUR), lucky raspberry (exotic engram from xur- *******!), ice breaker (nightfall strike drop), and arkhams young spine is what I carry.
I also have the thorn and another invective bounty in my inventory.. both at the crucible point of tasks. I'm just waiting to get a good void weapon.
If RNG sucks it can also suck the wrong way. IT really ruined playing the game for me.. not only did i max my char out, but i can't play a game without getting some awesome legendary or exotic. Attaining exotic weapons was the only thing left I had to grind for.. oh wait.
grinding for shards is just silly.

It was always one of the most skilful shooters ever. That's why my cousin who never played fps until cod was so great at it, very high skill ceiling.
