My loyalty lies with the Intaki. My favorite corporation is Rodan Shipyards. I have broken my Gallente RP when I went Cal-Logi for 5 damage mods with a sniper rifle (Hybrid weapons are hybrid weapons. Saying Gallente only get blaster is like saying Amarr get pulse but not beam lasers).
Today, I am saying goodbye to my Cal-Logi, Cal-Assault, Gal-Assaut, Amarr-Assault, Amarr-Sentinel. Got to get that out of my system today as I'll not be playing them for the foreseeable future.
I totally forgot how OP/Amazing Assault ak.0 was. well, farewell to thee.

I'd like to RP race, maybe even spec in commando for AR/SG lols. The problem is I still have a real grudge against the Duvolle for the horrors of uprising and refuse to use it.
So I'll spec racially for suits but have to be flexible with my weapons.

I have mixed feelings about 1.8 .... Yeah I'm happy all us scouts are getting buffed, and we deserved one for a long time now... But I can't get over the fact that all the FoTM chasers are going to flock to the scout suit and brick tank it into an assault suit. It just sickens me. No intent to be like an assassin, or think like a scout, rendering it into a dumbed down assault suit... I know this is just a petty issue, but I can't shake this feeling. And as soon as scouts become FoTM, we'll be nerfed again and it's back to square one... I ask myself sometimes what's the point in even playing anymore when this game is just an endless cycle of unbalanced buffing and nerfing

My sever suit is being hung up for now in lieu of the dragonfly being a viable JLAV pilot.
I'm definitely going full on minja again. I'd kind of like to also go proto in a slayer suit, but it remains to be seen which suit would be best for that. Perhaps Galsault. Maybe caldari solely for the raven suit.

Does scan precision affect the sniper scope?
it may, or may not, affect whether the full health bar things are displayed, at extreme distance. However, what affects it far more, is having the body hid behind certain materials.
So when you are running it over ridges, run it very carefully. You may have to run the hotspot over the only body part directly in the open (ie: the head of a sneaky damped sniper!) for it to light up.
In contrast, a nondamped, non obscured enemy will light up if they are almost anywhere in the reticule.
Note that this problem is specific to rock. Most buildings do not provide this advantage to snipers. There may be one or two, but from what I recall, your average building wall does not.

You're forgetting about all the existing logi tanks who will add a cloak to their death machine.
But yeah.. it's probably going to be scout514 for a while.
The good news is, people who are dropping their 2mil into unlocking a scout proto suit, wont have enough to also fully invest into the important auxiliary goodies like proto range, proto damp, proto precision. For a while, anyways.

I wish they made one of the EQ slots on the Scout limited to cloaks, that would reduce some of the/lots of the people flocking to the suit for their idealized FoTM choice

Varoth Drac wrote:Ok I'm running out of time. Still can't decide whether to stay minmatar or go caldari scout. For minmatar: - Loyalty to my current suit - Love the speed - Hacking bonus would be great - Knives are fun, even though I usually use a shotgun instead
For Caldari - Great look, seems much nicer than the minmatar - Love the scan range, though I'm a bit worried the bonus precision and any precision mods I may fit will be a waste of time as everybody will be an invisible cloaked Gallente scout.
I guess the real questions are, whether Caldari scouts' precision will actually be useful, and whether a minmatar scout with a range amp will have enough scan range. I currently use an active scanner but I want to switch to passive.
Sigh, maybe I'll just wait to see the new suits in game and base my decision purely on aesthetics. After all, what's the point of being a badass scout if you can't look badass doing it.
Anyone else changing suit or are people staying loyal? I'll be sticking with Minmatar, i was Minmatar in Eve, and I'm addicted to speed. Wait, that came out wrong...
Still trying to decide if i want to keep my Minmatar assault though. The heavy could be interesting instead, or the 600k or so SP would help with maxing my cores to make my scout more effective. Tough choice.

Maybe even assault scrambler, lol? But as for me, since I'm gonna be using Cal assault sometimes, I gotta use Cal assault rail rifle to match!

Yeah. but that would underscore the issue of, "well how come the other suits can use it at all??". And we cant have anything detracting from logis being able to use cloaks. Get your priorities straight!!! (This excerpt was taken from a larger transcript, surreptitiously recorded from a CCP team meeting)

Caldari, IMO, is going to be the best Scout on the outside objectives in skirmish, best scout for ambush, and... well... domination is just a terrible game mode for KDR whores (like king babar).
I love my ScR, NK combo, but I think the Cadari is going ot be the best rifle using scout.

It would be like making the cloak the sidearm of Equipment. It's why Scouts get a dedicated slot for it, anyone with an EQ slots could fit it, and why Logistics don't get a fitting bonus towards it.

The refund would be enough to get level 5 in kin cats, along with another level in engineering, so i can probably fit dual complex extenders on my advanced fit...so yeah, **** it, goodbye assault, hello cores!
Might get enough from the sidearm event to start into the heavy anyways...

K thx I use pistols and shotty Cal is probably the way to go then. Just be aware of the limited lows, if you're running a dampener and range enhancer, that's all you've got.
On the plus side, with a range module, you should be able to see pretty much everything within pistol range.

Lv 5 Kin Cats and Engineering 5 are critical for fitting a minja scout. It's always far better to go all in on a specialization before you go wide
Edit: Lv 5 kin cats aren't as important as LV 5 Cardio Regs.

So!
Who is going to play around with the cloak IMMEDIATELY
Personal points of interest:
Melee attacking and breaking cloak- possibly first and foremost.
Tossing a flux nade from a cloaked state. Does that kill the cloak AND put your primary weapon in hand?
Switching to a primary weapon from a cloak- Literally, a knife might HAVE to be your LW slot. Is the switch tactically realistic in a fast paced encounter?
The effectiveness of camping without precision enhancers. How realistic is it to switch to cloak a bit too late when the calvary arrives unnoticed?
The effectiveness of being cloaked even though you were just successfully scanned.
Can I really run from one objective to another cloaked safely?

3. interesting never thought about that , feeling is that you will be left empty handed as with no RE
4. Already running that have been since i picked up Nova KnivesGǪ i am ready for this
5. this will be dependent on the Reds coming in
6. Depends on armaments of the reds (MD and Scanner )
7. depends on the map but many times yes

These two are my main interest. Particularly the swap to weapon. Its looking to be a good time to have proto knives and level 5 mini scout
