I use a Profile dampened , SHIELD tanked amarr assault with Scrambler rifles and SMG + Active scanner...
There are not many of these around...
But the profile damp,active scanner,and speed (since its not armor tanked i run around 7.15+ sprt, that its a lot for an amarr XD), make me feel like im using a slow but powerful scout.... |

Same right here. I have my assault Mk.0 but honestly it's like a last resort or easy/lazy mode button for me. I spend perhaps 90% or more time in my scout suit. I just don't like running my assault. When I do play my assault I use almost the exact same tactics as I do with my scout. I'm flanking on the outside to get in close with my side arms while the slayers on my team are making loud noises with their ARs.
Scout suits are where the real fun is.

Oswald, and fellow scouts. I fight for the Gallente (primarily) and Minmitar (25% of the time).
Additionally, I don't use AR's, Shotguns, MD's, or the other usual racial light weapons..... so I should have plenty of that stuff for sale. I got plenty of ISK so I plan to play faction warfare battles primarily. Happy to sell to fellow scouts! |

Another Q to my Minmatar brethren.... with about 130k in SP to burn on my alt, what do you recommend to be effective weapon-wise with this minimal SP?
I have sidearm L1, and will probably stick with sidearms. I'm tired of playing with the AR on a scout so I want to do something with this SP near-term.
Is SMG/NK or Flaylock/NK a better combo? Or something else.... like SMG/Flaylock, dual flaylocks, dual SMGs?
I've only got Minnie scout L2, Electronic/Engineering L2 so I can't fit a whole lot..... L1 biotics as well. I pissed away all my 9M SP on logi skills.... *facepalm*.
No scrambler pistols on this alt, I got that covered with this character. |

HAHA thanks for the compliment,but its not so much my game play,but mostly my Fitting skills... With a suit that is better prepared for more situations its actually a lot easier to stay alive....
XD Well a single Complex Profile dampener on my amarr assault works pretty well. Takes my Db down to 33 which is repectable for an assault unit. A Complex Reactive plates give me some armor plus regeneration while not taking away too much speed.(7 i think) and i shield tank with 2 Cx Shield ext.The thing about the Amarr suits is,they might not have slots,but they have CPU-PG of a freakn logi...so they can equip a LOT of Cx and ADV stuff where other suits cant.
Amarr ASsault-Scout XD For your delight (its only one of my 45 loadouts so...) Amarr A/1 Series GÖª 2x Cx Shield ext GÖª Cx reactive plates GÖª Cx Profile Dampener GÖª Duvolle Quantum Scanner GÖª ASV Scrambler rifle (my, ehem...best weapon next to SMG's...) GÖª Toxin SMG GÖª Locus grenade
Around 370 shields and 291 armor. (660 EHP) Speed 7 Stamina 210 (people forget amarr has scout level Stamina) Armor rep rate 2 per sec Shield regen rate: around 23.5 per sec
NOTE: I am known for having a LOT of suits and weapons but not much proto , but id DO however have a LOT of Passive skills at Lv 5 Making many ADV suits very powerful.(i am after all, an ADV level player with over 20 mill SP >.>)

I've been saving up for Biotics 5, so I can be a 'real' minmatar scout.
This morning, I found myself wiuth about 90k SP. Huh.
but.. I need 310k for biotics 5. and I'm pretty much at cap.
So, I could wait another full week of cap reset and grinding. Or...
hmmm.. (pokes around skilltree) I could unlock light weapons four, and.. (shotgun? naw, ybnrml?) PLASMA CANNON! We have a winnah!
So, i tried it out briefly. Umm... it's... umm... weird. It's really difficult to get a direct hit. it's clunky to fire It's frustrating to reload
It's.... strangely appealing. It makes big booms. It lobs big pretty shineysparkely things.

Not at all, it is just showing how inferior the Minmatar are. The Amarr are the best dual tankers in the game so they really have the best options. Amarr also have the most CPU/PG out of all the races. At ADV level, outperforming a scout isn't all that impressive. You have 80base HP higher than the Gallente Scout and 90 higher than the Minmatar. 7.42 base sprint speed against 7.63 (Gallente) and 7.91 (Minmatar) . You really aren't much slower. Also you are Amarr so you have more stamina than the other Assault suits, which makes you equal to a Scout.
It really just shows how there isn't enough difference in base stats between Light and Medium frames.
Assault ak.0 though is even better than the Minmatar scout because of the extra slot it has.
As far as poeple running faction warfare, the topic came up way back in early open beta if they'd give LP things. I said then that I'd be doing a lot more Caldari FW, because of the Rail Gun. That sniper rifle, now a rail rifle, I hope the railgun SMG comes out soon too. And Gallente for suits, and because I like Gallente. And Amarr, because I love the laser weapons. lol at the Minmatar. when FF is introduced I'll be AWOXing Minmatar as frequently and often as possible.

The nerf I would seek would be a gentle touch on the dispersion. Overall its not up to me to select which weapons get nailed but the numbers generated by the players. The reason for the nerf is to not make the SMG an obvious goto weapon should the AR be toned down or in other case the SCR which itself is also contributing to the very short TTK.
I love SMGs they're my favorite back up weapon and CQC, just with the short TTK annoying the crap out of everyone I am willing to see it toned for the sake of the game.

It's OKAY guys. He doesn't have a blue tag, so we should be fine. We are still running at full dampening, I just went and checked the generator behind the bar. Good to go here.
On the other hand, I'll be okay with a nerf to the SMG, ONLY if you nerf AR's and ScR's as well. Keep their relative power levels the same and just increase TTK.

They truly are But still they refuse to work after a few fast swipes and i think the issue is some Kind of overheat-machanic. Did anyone notice that they start to glow? If this is how it works we only need either some kind of heat-indicator (like LR and SR) or to have the overheat removed

Both officer-AR behave the same way - shoot too much and they will stop working for quite a few seconds while the barrel seems to indicate that the weapon is overheatet. Why else would CCP force an automatic weapon without overheat-mechanic to just stop shooting?

Last, I gave this a shot last night. I got L1 nova knives and L1 flaylock and that pretty much burned through my SP since I needed to take light weapons to L3 to get the flaylock.
I Have to say that the flaylock, at least at basic levels, seems to very much be a skillshot weapon now, which is definitely to my liking. Direct shots seems to do a good amount of damage but they are hard to get given the range and arc of the missiles, and the fact that there are only 3 rounds in the magazine.
The nova knives are a challenge but I did manage to get 3-4 kills which I'd classify as beginner luck kills. I got a few snipers and 2 caldari mediums in close combat with multiple swipes. The basic knives do such little damage!
Looking forward to honing my skills further!
PS - I'm such a firearm guy; I keep trying to reload my knives between kills!! |

1.4 was it? Playing with my toxin AR I noticed that, called it out to my corp immediately, and skilled into sharpshooter IV and Proficiency III
But I also love the Boundless Breach SMG, taking out proto suits from 50m away
