I don't know what my problem is with Active Scanners. I have them on an increasing number of fits, but have yet to use them. Not because I dislike them, but because I completely forget about them. I often wonder how much ISK I have thrown away by just having them on my fits, or how much easier some situations would have been had I actually used it. Thunderbolt. verb and noun. Cal scouts are the new cal logis, bonuses to worthless equipment. It's hard to say hives are worthless, but they arenot worth the isk for how long they last on the field. Have you considered a career in costumed aggression?

My passive inner ring has spared me many a death by NK Scout; guys who had me dead to rights. My middle ring, on the other hand, has been giving me trouble lately; seems an increased number of Assaults have been ducking my CalScout's midrange scans. I'm considering running a precision enhancer to boost my middle ring to 29 dB; if the Assaults are single damped (30dB) it'll pick 'em up as ably as proto active scans (28dB). They nerfed the RR enough I think. I used it for awhile, but fighting from a distance was never my thing. I think that person was just whining. RA took scan radius to 52m give or take, up from 45 or so. i thought that 7m might be worth the slot. Start with a headshot, watch them jump, then finish them off as they spin around to counter. So nice. Seems to me like the cal scout is too squishy to take advantage of thier bonus. I've almost completely stopped using cloaks, precision mods or range amps since 1.9 dropped. Dmg mods & kincats don't lure you into a false sense of security like trusting tacnet does. I can outrun someones scans if needs be & i noticed 2 complex kincats seems to take away any terrain issues. Have you considered a career in costumed aggression?

Direct Hits that is all you can do with it With two Enhanced Damage Mods (might be one basic and one enhanced can't remember the fit I used exactly) I can stand in front of a wall and shoot itGÇª the splash does not kill my basic Minja. But if I recall correctly it does more direct damage than the Core Flaylock. MOAR Ladders

Tell them to go pick up any other FPS and tell you which has the scout role as only knives/shotgun CqC only. I have never played one that did not have the scout role as the medium/long range precision/sniper weapon class with a pistol or knife sidearm. If it has a scope I will use it and In Dust514 I will use everything else too. If you can't kill them scan them. Meta 13 Proto Stomp G-I Scout

Isn't that what it's for? I've said it before but for a long time I would've described my play style as "Flanker Wank3r" going so far as to actually have suit builds named this. But the RR was getting some really nasty nerfs last time I played and I felt myself getting forced into using something else. Has the RR improved? It was damn near useless last time. ARR was somewhat OK. We'll bang, OK?
