I can't for the life of me understand how this is even a question. Nearly EVERY other game gets it, I can't even think of another game than Dust that treats backwards/forwards movement the same.
Back Pedal = Forward Walk makes about as much sense as Strafe = Forward Walk or Jump = 0 Stamina.
They are all broken movement mechanics, so why does one get special treatment? I asked around today, apparantly we used to have lower speed, and everyone complained all the time and rejoiced forever when we increased it. So, do we do that merry go round again? No. It's fine. You can let this one go.

Do you manage for ewar or around ewar? I see no reason to run damps, amps, cloaks or precision mods with this update. Tacnet has become unreliable at any range. Active scanner is fittable only because it nets wp.
Anyone feel me, or am i out on a limb here?

Yup, looking awesome indeed. I hope the bonuses are to support & not directly to battle. I die fast enough, don't need mobile offices providing additional damage.
It's great having things to look forward too. The feeling of hope around Dust was quashed pretty hard after the rouge wedding, but they seem to be suprising me here & there.
When i see QQ posts & habe nothing to say, i troll/whine about being bored in my quarters. Since holo-honey & I don't feel confortable making eye contact anymore, opening the doors to a new space is going to be sweet!
Adding value to my corp beside just a tax fund source is pretty cool too. I may be a tool, but i get sad when I'm not useful.

I sure wish I could word things like you do. I hate that I can not express myself the way most of you do here. I was never good in english. Had to take english 9, 10, and 11 all year my junior year of high school. Good thing for me I lived in Kentucky that year and passed English with a's and b's only to return to Indiana and pass English 12 with a d-
I can fix about anything but don't make me write about it. The best thing you can do to improve how you express yourself is to read. Even if it is news/entertainment. I wasn't good at English in HS either, mostly because of bad teachers and some notion that those good at math can't be good at English. Somewhere along the line, I started to improve, and I always found that the more I read, the better I could express my thoughts. That could very well help. I only read programming or other how to books and that just teaches me to be direct and to the point. I can not remember ever reading a actual story book. Really love the Game of Thrones and thought about reading the books A Song of Ice and Fire to get ahead of the series. Thank you for the idea. Communication in any for is an asset. I was once told "if you can't dazzle them with diagrams, then baffle them with bullsh*t".
Sad, but it works.

C-1 w/ complex range amp & 3 complex precision mods. Ganked @ 27m by an adv min assault that never popped up on tacnet.
Think i'll stick to dampening, scans are too unreliable.

I think either one by itself is no good. Anyone who has ever sat through a presentation with too much jargon knows what I am talking about. You can get lost in the details, and then its no good. At the same time, too much BS will result in wasted time and/or poor consequences. Alan Alda actually funds a science program at a college out west somewhere (heard it on Science Friday, but can't remember the name of the program or college) that teaches people involved in STEM (the epitome of jargon and info) how to better communicate ideas so that people don't get lost with too much technicality or get bored by poor presentation. Essentially that is what you want, for there to be the right mix of knowledge presented in a clear and concise manner. I remember Alan Alda hosted a challenge - explain fire to a child. The goal was to be able to explain complex concepts in general terms and achieve understanding from your audience.
Work like this is sorely needed!
I never heard so many bs concepts in my work, it's the sad ones that seem to stick. Maybe because i can mentally recall the physical pain associated with it (facepalm).

At Adv, I barely notice the decreased hack time. Though, to be honest, my concentration is on listening & tacnet. Does not surprise me they are not more widely used.

Just recently i have been running proto here & there just to use it, otherwise basic fits wprk just fine. Only use advanced to my logi, basic cal logi is sh*t & proto is way too expensive.

Would anyone like to contribute nuggets of wisdom targeted at brand new players regarding the Galscout? Hands down the best scout in the game. With the majority of ewar/biotic modules being low slot & the fact that dampening trumps precision, gal scout is the king of scouts.
This is coming from a die-hard caldari who ran gal scouts out of necessity until racial parity. Just now skilling back into it.

Who else here runs RR's. I got some hate mail for my fit the other day & it kind of suprised me. Seems like the standard scout light weapon i notice on the killfeed is still SG's. Not sure if they were trying to call me out for fotm or scrub fits.
Only thing that would make my standard scout fit more caldari would be if it automatically sent invoices for the rounds it took to kill someone to the victim.
My response was "would you prefer i went back to using the ScR?"

I switched all my assault suits to the ARR, but i prefer the standard variant when i have the ability to get the drop on someone. Start with a headshot, watch them jump, then finish them off as they spin around to counter. So nice.
Seems to me like the cal scout is too squishy to take advantage of thier bonus. I've almost completely stopped using cloaks, precision mods or range amps since 1.9 dropped. Dmg mods & kincats don't lure you into a false sense of security like trusting tacnet does. I can outrun someones scans if needs be & i noticed 2 complex kincats seems to take away any terrain issues.

/me nopes out Yep, the idea is to improve Scouts if they are in fact underperforming. Thinking 10% to 15% RoF for Gallente and Caldari weaponry (respectively) in exchange for dropping the GA/CA profile bonus. Would encourage glass-cannon play and make it more viable. Your going to push me to buy a turbo fire controler, lol My dead numb trigger finger can't even fire the tac ar at it present RoF Don't worry, this isn't going to fly. Only Jolly and I like it so far :-) Yeah, dropping the profile bonus from CA while increasing the RoF without increasing RR accuracy would not help address the proliferation of galscouts.
Calscouts running RR's would slay at all ranges, even without increasec accuracy, and the RR would be nerfed again.
Caldari as a race are in a bad spot & scout bonuses should not be weapon based IMHO. Mins can have their knife bonus if they with, but any rifle/sidearm bonuses should be tabled.
TLDR: 2Berries walked in to a conversation already in progress & only slightly knows what's going on.

Reworking or eliminating an entire classes bonus in order to make 1 less attractive then the rest doesn't seem like the best path to success. I don't want the gal scout to end up to be the next cal logi. On the other hand, i want relevant bonuses again.

Damn, sorry True.
I limit my chats, but have kept every email. Lag is most noticable when there is tons of equipment on field. Match yesterday went pretty well until 4 tanks kept circling the objective, prompting every blueberry close to a supply depot to start laying out mines. Then the problem wasn't the tanks, but that once you came within 200m of the mines the framerate would drop to a point of being unplayable.

I thought TAC AR, but leads back towards me and longer TTK. So, SCR. Get in, charge HS with follwup, get out. Charge shot s loud though, but hits like a truck. Plus ill be a good distance away.
Haven't field tested it yet, just wondering what you think. Switch out the ScR for a RR & the ferroscale for cardio. With the range of the RR, by the time reds find where you are firing from you will have enough time to run off & reposition.

I might go spelunking through forum post history after my classes are over though I can confirm he posted that they were changing the assault and logi speeds. Don't remember where though. I remember it was definitely one of the ideas he was tossing around a while back as a possibility, but I think he recently mentioned that it was probably going to happen. Whether or not he actually said that is another question entirely Was it in the biomassed podcast? I remenber ratatti saying something flipping assault/logi movement speeds amomst some other ideas he was throwing about. I hear hs voice when i think of it, which makes me think it was spoken aloud vs forum text. I could be crazy though, i do play dust after all.

We hammered out a suggestion a few weeks ago that I thought was a good inter-scout balancing. I can't remember all the details, but we took the dampening bonus from the Gal, and made it a class bonus (though I don't remember if we discussed a specific number), gave Amarr the biotics bonus, and I *think* gave Gal the range bonus. I can't remember what we gave up for the additional class bonus, maybe the cloak fitting bonus, but I can't remember anything beyond this. How about we give cal scouts a resistance to fall damage?

Best AI management I've seen: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Gambits
For those who didn't play FF XII ... These "gambits" behaved like nested if / then statements. Once unlocked, you could initially stack 5 or so conditions on each follower; the stack grew substantially with upgrades/investment to 20 or so. The "conditionals" could be found/purchased throughout the game; some were pretty specific, and it was fun to program followers to play off of one another. Example: Follower 1 - If enemy:difficulty = tough, cast oil Follower 2 - If enemy:status = oil, cast fire And so on ... Combat could be paused and planned but flowed real-time (rather than the usual FF turn-base). FF XII didn't get glowing reviews, but I found it to be very well designed and executed. Definitely my favorite of all the final fantasy releases on PS2 or PS3. Impressive amount of content and quality of content for a PS2 game. I love FFXII SO FRAKING MUCH OMG The last great final fantasy of the new generation. Great game & the gambit system was so sweet. Got soooo pissed when i messed up my gambits (healer tossing potions at everone over 25% hp instread of under 25%), but an archer can't get mad at it's arrow for missing it's target.

EMP Grenade - Briefly disables electronics within a blast radius. Jammer EQ - Deployable equipment (discreet; size of proxy-mine) which jams electronics of hostile units within range. For those following campaigns, who do you guys like? I'm currently leaning toward:
#1 - Cross (Logi) #2 - Zaria (Logi) #3 - Pokey (Commando) #4 - Talos (Assault) #5 - Demens (Assault) #6 - Ripley (Assault) #7 - Delt -or- Dennie (undecided)
1. I really like the idea of Bamm, but I'm concerned about the potential for absenteeism. Do you think my concerns are misplaced?
2. Also, the list above feels pretty MedFrame heavy. Barring Delt and possibly Cross, I don't know that any of these players can speak competently on the subject of Scouts or EWAR interplay/balance as it relates to Scouts. That said, these are all bright individuals who (unlike a few other candidates) I believe are able and willing to be affected by informed feedback from others.
3. And as a final concern, could electing a panel of bright non-Scouts potentially do Scouts undue harm? Assume for the sake of illustration that Aeon, Tesfa and Kirk were all elected to CPM. After months of Scout under-performance, Rattati opines that it's time to either rethink EWAR or buff the Scout class. Aeon, Tesfa and Kirk are confused and outraged. They join in ardent objection and put their heads together in hopes of finding good reasons why not. Ultimately, Rattati is not swayed. Shocker. But pick any three above, assume ill intent, and set their minds upon common goal; is it not possible that Rattati might then be swayed? See Zatara circa December 2014.
Scratch 3. An underdeveloped and probably stupid thought. A panel of clever CPM is superior to the alternative, regardless of what may or may not come. Swap 5 & 7 for Bamm & Aeon.
I can see your concerns with Bamm, but he does have a good vision for the game and can facilitate conversations from wishy/washy rhetoric to consrtuctive talks focused on results (with & without the tinfoil). I agree with many of his views & can see him as an asset to the community & the devs who will be working with the CPM.
Aeon could serve well. Another candidate with a good vision, although the interpersonal skills and self management may be an issue. In a resent podcast he spoke of the steps he is taking to address these issues, which is commendable and should be nurtured. The CPM may be hard hard test for him but, pass or fail, the opportunity to serve the community and himself could be a boon for all. I share many points of view with Aeon.
Spot on with the rest of the list.

I would like to point out that this is going to be true of pretty much every candidate. Few people devotedly stick to and use one class - in a lot of cases, it's hard to tell what they actually main if you look hard enough.
As an example, I know Talos may indeed mostly run assault now but previously I know he was a logi, and I believe he's also got ADS experience.
Very few candidates restrict their experience to one role. I imagine that the 'omni' classification applies to most of them. Kind of concerned that this is the only way you guys are looking at this not to mention that all of the candidates have put forwards the same regurgitated bullshit thus far to 'secure the vote of the common man'. Not a single CPM actually stands out this time around which is concerning. Leaving me personally ambivalent about the whole thing and simply voting based on who I like the most. I don't think it is the ONLY thing being considered. If it was Shotty's list wouldn't have so many medium frames and so no scouts. I think there is plenty to go on, especially since I know you have been around the forums awhile. I certainly haven't read any campaign posts as they all end up the same, but will base my opinions on past experiences, like when I watched you and Pokey discuss tanks several months back. It doesn't take much to discern those who are able to bilaterally communicate in a reasonable manner and show some creative ability. Yes but what does suit frame have to do with ones capacity to lead, their ability to communicate ideas, accept new ideas, etc. Nothing. Considering them as a real factor in the election is asinine. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I like to believe the devs are nose to the grindstone researching lag issues & defining objectives/requirements for porting to the PS4.
I also like to believe GMC is going to remake the '69 cadillac eldorado, updating the features while maintaining the original body style.
Off to cry now...

I hate you right now, you know that? Why would you say such a thing? I am a huge car guy, my favorite of course is a '69 Shelby GT500, which I think is everyone's fav. But dammit, the Cadillac Eldorado was style man, almost as much as the Bel Air. You are breaking my heart berry, YOU ARE BREAKING MY HEART! Good, misery loves company. The worlds greatest drinking buddy & his brother just came back from Hot August Nights in Reno. I would have gone too, but i was forced to choose between a 4-day bender in Reno & a week long family vacation to Montana.
There is no right answer, but it feels like i chose wrong. (Watched 07 MB CLK go for $7,500, never buying off a lot again)
Been a cadillac man since the day a bought my 73 coupe de ville, henceforth know as "the first wife".

I was too until I played Dust. Here's my old BF3 stats, I pretty much only played Recon with DMR's and Bolt actions. I came here to Dust and was appalled by the sniper action here. It has bad hit detection, horrible application, and nowhere near enough power until proto (Against anything but idiots. Thankfully, headshot damage is through the freaking roof and MLT sniper can easily OHK people with a headshot). So I stopped. I only do it for fun now in my Calmando (And love every last hatemail for it), but you have to be god-tier sniper to not be considered a waste of a player spot. Any good reason why not to increase movement speed while crouched? Always aimed with two sticks when sniping in every other shooter I've played. Why not (1) reduce sniper rifle sway while crouched and (2) increase movement speed while crouched? I can see this being plausible for scout snipers (maybe even assaults), but not commando or sentinals. If it already takes 2 shots to drop you sitting in the hills then you don't need a movement buff. 210ehp, different story. If you think twitching between sniper rounds will help in that situation, have at it.
We do need more snipers in this game. Not enough people willingly get in to execution position (on knees, facing away) & wait for death.

Not enough people willingly get in to execution position (on knees, facing away) & wait for death. I wasn't thinking about faster movement while squatting in terms of evasion; I was thinking it'd make it easier to acquire and track scoped targets if you could use both sticks to do so. Like in other shooters. Current Sniping MechanicsLeft stick (legs): unused Right stick (arms): all aiming adjustment Proposed Sniping MechanicsLeft stick (legs): major aiming adjustment Right stick (arms): minor aiming adjustment * While squatting: To prevent an increase in quick-scoping. We basically have that now. Left stick does move you while crouched, but moving it resets scope sway & you have to wait for it to relax before your accuracy returns. I read your post as removing the sway reset so your not fighting sway while making small adjustments when crouched.

Left stick movement will equate to evasion, which is why i would like to see some sort of differential to movement/sway by suit weight. A commando/sentinal who can tank 2 shots should not be able to side step a shot as well, while a scout/assault who is OHK fodder should have some level of mobility with accuracy while ads.
