useless.
I think the regular smg was better when I had 0 SP in it and proto with prof 2 in magses. that was a month ago when i respeced and put no SP in smg
I hate all charge to fire weapons anyway because with the cloak delay I don't need another delay that likes to get bugged out of cloak and not charge or fire.
If you can't kill them scan them.

I have used it regularly since its release with at least prof 2. I find it does very well in its intended ranges, but isn't going to compete with a fine rifle within the optimals. Now I haven't used it in PC so I can't speak to its viability there, but in pub matches I am able to get kills with it.
I would agree it could use a slight buff, but not sure what would be most appropriate. Either slight damage buff or slight ROF buff would possibly bring it in line with other sidearms. I don't think the kick should be touched to avoid the cqc spray and pray that the SMG is made for.

I think it suffers from the same problem as the Burst Assault Rifle.
That is, it isn't a bad weapon, it just seems to lack the ability to outright kill someone.
I get crazy amount of assists with both of those weapons. Once I got 50+ with the BuAR

As others say, the Magsec lacks outright killing potential because of a few mechanics meant to balance it. Charge-Up, recoil, low DPS because of ROF and sidearm-level damage per shot, bad range for a rail weapon, no sights, etc. Not to mention that the BP sight supposed to belong to the Magsec.
BP range > Magsec Range
Bad anti-strafe effectiveness, and so terrible at shields that it can't down a Minja. And the anti-armor SMG is better at that!
Please buff my Magsex. It doesn't hit hard enough...
