Yeah, I've only ever seen a red's RE on Tacnet through someone else's active scan, and even then it's rare.
Perhaps more advanced tiers pick them up, but basic doesn't.
And I've yet to catch one on passives, even when looking at it. That means it's impossible to pick up on passives.

As others say, the Magsec lacks outright killing potential because of a few mechanics meant to balance it. Charge-Up, recoil, low DPS because of ROF and sidearm-level damage per shot, bad range for a rail weapon, no sights, etc. Not to mention that the BP sight supposed to belong to the Magsec.
BP range > Magsec Range
Bad anti-strafe effectiveness, and so terrible at shields that it can't down a Minja. And the anti-armor SMG is better at that!

That aside, (caution - public shaming) found Patr1ck Burns sniping at the redline of Manus Peak in a C-GFW session. He was in everyone's favorite troll suit, the 'Quafe' gk.0, and probably with some sort of PRO sniper rifle. I assume he was bricked up to the max, but that should be irrelevant, since I had my TAC sniper lined up to his cranium from 10 meters away.
I pulled the trigger...
...and he survived!
Got the headshot the moment after, but I was confounded. A scout, even a bricked one, shouldn't be able to tank a headshot from ANY sniper rifle. Was there decreased effectiveness of the sniper round because of the 10 meter distance? A bug? Or was it just a ludicrous and broken mechanic?
Please buff my Magsex. It doesn't hit hard enough...

It was unlikely to be the range factor. That's what I thought in the first place. And yes, I was only with the STD TACSR, but still, seriously?

Once, I was a lone passenger in someone's Viper, and the ship tilted on its side. As I exited/ejected from the upper side, I found myself falling about a meter and being caught on the roof of said dropship. It was just too bad that the terribad pilot had to scrap the DS to lay some uplinks.
But there's an idea.

I personally love running Minja. Moreso than the former FOTM calscout. It's because of the speed/stamina bonuses, and very useful bonuses. Coupled with the right combination of mods and an Ishy knife, and it's deadly.
Calscout can't be anything more than a CR/RR/SG platform, and a bad one at that.
Galscout is #1 because of regen, hP, dampening bonus, versatility, and being the easiest to fit a cloak on. Also best SG platform.

Got it. I was under the impression that people traded codes with eachother. It is called the "Code" Bazaar and if you look on the Dust 514 website there is a place where you can enter in a code.

Cowardliness on par with scouts. Actually, I know a few scouts who'd take on mercs head on instead of fleeing when spotted.
Think this way, if you're about to kill a Proto suit, wouldn't you be disappointed if the "spirit" jumps out of his body and runs off (actually, that's according to lore), but the death doesn't count, and you get +25 WP instead of +50/60?

Got into the first knife duel in months. Against a fellow Minscout, too! Except I can't really give him honor points for being a wannabe barber.
Started at the Northern enemy homepoint on trainmap, where their CRU, Supply Depot, and Missile Install. were. Caught him flanking clumsily at the corner of my FOV as I hacked. Backed up to gun him down (he had shot at me twice before, I killed him both times  ). This time, he has a RR, and apparently lacks gun game. I almost finish him, and he "cops" out by flashing knives. I think, "ok", and charge at him with my own. The ensuing fight lasts over two minutes.
We scaled up and down the incline towards Bravo. I take the high ground 80% of the time, and use the edge's cover to avoid his RR shots (yes, he really was a scrub). He would come up to take potshots, me dodging with a Matrix-strafe, while I tried to make my away around to stab his backside. In fact, I stabbed him twice uncharged, and meleed him once (I'm using M-I with ZN-28's, max Prof.). Dayum, he wouldn't go down. He never landed a knife hit on me (shots are another matter).
Eventually, an mk.0 with an ACR in the shadows took me down. I couldn't finish the fight fast enough, I guess. But really, what a scrub. Dampened my enthusiasm for knifing.

Depends how you see it. I tested with Flaylock and BrSG. The clip drops by two, the recoil feels like 2 successive shots. But the animation shows only 1 pellet/projectile fired. Damage dealt in one impact with double the damage.

I feel for ya. Though I don't keep track of my opponents' locations, and more often it's just a frozen frame and then a kill assist or death for me.
Playing on low resolution does not help substantially. I know, I tried. Also have only 1 non-core chat, ans voice always off.
Turns out, it's shrinking the number of your loadouts that helps.

It lets me click on the yellow items... but it doesnt show the usual "replace/blah/blah" stuff. It just goes straight into assets...
and then when I click on a different item.. it shows the cpu/power usage change.. but the item does not actually change!! ?? !

You can't ever edit them. There was a glitch when the APEX were introduced where people could fit them with anything, despite the obvious intention of preventing that. Good lord. They were obviously fixed.

Setting up a duel between PARKOUR PRACTIONER and Crimson Shield sometime this coming weekend. Squad invite.
We que for MFW, and the two will duel for 2-3 rounds. Knives the first time, melee the second, and back to knives at the tiebreaker. Victor gets to buy my rare 'Syndicate' SMG BPO for 20 mill ISK.
Of course, any spectators are welcome, but the duel for the BPO is reserved to those two.

TK. There isn't much of a penalty as long as the victim doesn't report. Automatic boot is based on amount of damage dealt, and scouts don't have enough hP to warrant this.
I don't have patience to que up on both sides. I know neither of you are interested in Amarr LP. And we can do it away from blueberry/redberry interference (in the redline, for example).

I do. Regen is everything about the suit. Only approach objectives when necessary, and fight from longer ranges with the RR, provided you have nearby cover. It's easy to be overwhelmed, but that should not be a problem if you flank.

Doing your duels will make your team more likely to lose. I'm assuming you don't want the Republic to lose. As such, you should do your duel in AFW.
I guess we could do AFW and back out once the deed is done.
Usually the MFW teams steamroll, but I see your point should the occasional sync come around.

For the time being, most people accept paying ISK first. ISK isn't exactly bought with currency, and the margin of potential grief there is diminished. Sellers are fewer than buyers, and can be identified and investigated more easily.

In my case, it took Prof. 3 to become viable. It works best on a Forge Gunner Caldari Sentinel (full racial outfit FTW!)
Stick with allies and hopefully nag the kill in suppression fire, or defend yourself against scout ambushes. The range on the Magsec vs Minmatar SMG has really stood out, on a positive note. It has AR range.

I don't have the SP to put into myos, saving for lazy gallogi 5 to do PC in and scanners, but I have another general question. How good is the SL-4 Assault Rail Rifle? I have ARR to 2, and for general purposes, should I take it to 4?
Depends on what you're looking for. The ARR is pretty good from the hip, and performs well in close-to-mid range combat. I find it to be less reliable than other Rifles down range due to significant kick when aiming-down-sights.
SL-4 is pretty good, but Op. 5 and >Prof. 2 makes it stand out.
It doesn't have vanilla RR range in ADS, but I've made some kills at a speed I thought impossible at great distances. Op. 5 kick reduction allows more shots fired in ADS before kick kicks in.

Well, look at what happened. This same exact thing happened to both my DS3 controllers at the beginning of the year. Had to tolerate it - what a handicap - until I got the DS4. Feels good to be wrecking again.
It seemed to be the controllers' fault. I wasn't especially careful with them. And navigational malfunctions were evident even on PS Home.

I run three enh shields on a competitive Minscout, and I'm feeling more resilient. Haven't seen any benefit out of my damage mods.
There's Myros, but I have a separate fit for that.

MinAss is a real problem. SG can't beat the strafe, anti-armor weapons stand no chance against it if the Min stacked shields (which they always do, or is it just that Min Shields are harder than Cal shields, WTF?). I'm supposed to be afraid of AmAss and Scramblers more, but nope.

The one thing that I feel is off is that you should've gone down within a second each time a hostile saw - and fired - at you. Especially when running across the bridge where the red blob is waiting? Not a good idea. I saw them fire at you, but either it was only 1 with a terribad gun, or they had stormtrooper aim.
So, were they running standard gear. I swear I have a much more conservative playstyle, but I get seen and knocked down more often. Perhaps in my case my opponents are more experienced, have greater gun-game, and packed greater firepower?

I could go 1/5 or 9/6 and still get 180K in both cases. So why even try?

If not your performance, then it is most likely the opposition's awareness. I can get away with 15+ stabs a game with clueless berries, or go negative with experienced vets, even in standard gear.
