Just had a thought, the results of actual logistics might get complicated, but I wanted to run the basic idea past you first before even bothering with those aspects.
What if profile varied by tier?
Standard suits have less PG/CU and all around stuff than do Adv or Proto.
Perhaps the variance would only need to be 1 or 2 dB per tier.
My intention is to give lower tier suits a little more viability, given the increased strengthening of proto level equipment, while not necessarily wanting to make standard better options than higher tier suits.
I think this would also help out the NPE and those less skilled. Perhaps this would even give medium suits a more EWAR viability and versatility without overly infringing on scout roles.
As I say, this is a very rough draft type idea, and perhaps you can think of reasons that this would not be a good idea, or perhaps you can think of some changes that would make this more viable or less able to be abused.

Most are extremely squishy and entirely reliant upon their shield buffer; their lows are committed damps, kincats or codebreakers (seldom King HP). A hefty sig nerf to shield extenders would assuredly slam the MinScout, but again, the uparmored CalScout dodges the bullet. What care hath the CalScout for stealth when we need only wiggle when fired upon?
What to do ... what to do. You guys have any ideas?
(TPLAK) Random Idea: Tank mods reduce (by a percent) the amount of health mods of the opposite tank give. So say it was 5% per mod and you put 4 Shield extenders on a dropsuit armour mods would then only give 20% of their value.

Le sigh. I was in that match too! I was pleasantly surprised by the frame rate considering it was the Gallente Lag Facility. We got crushed though.

Sometimes there are days, like today, where things in dust just don't go well.
Just did ambush, adv min scout with knives, bottom of my team. 40+ mil skill points, played since closed beta, advanced suit, bottom of score board.
Then I played a match 16 vs 8, I was on the team of 16. Went 5/8, lost 6 proto suits (2 min scouts, 4 Amarr assaults), enemy were in advanced.
Didn't go well.
Sigh.... |

Part the second: Who thinks we should nerf precision? That's dumb. You nerf precision and you just push people to run shields instead. Or Damage Mods. Maybe even myos if they start giving bonuses unrelated to melee.

What to do ... what to do. You guys have any ideas?
(TPLAK) I've been playing FPS multiplayer since Half-Life 1 had multiplayer. Strafing out of someone's aim has always been a part of FPSs. It's bad enough that DUST 514 actually penalizes players that aim-down-sights because they suffer more recoil than hip-fire. Accuracy vs movement has always been the tradeoff. In DUST though, who the hell ever uses an AR or ACR or AScR in short to medium range aiming-down-sights? No one. THat's who. How many people have recorded their PC matches? dozens of person friends have from HS/TP/AE and you can watch them play with their rifles, none of them are aiming down sights in any game from 1.0 to present. The only way to deal with this hyper-accurate hip-fire is to be able to throw off someone's aim by strafing. It's a staple of FPS like I said. Only DUST is already a very slow game. Max Sprint is sluggish even on a Min-Scout with 3 kincats or Gal-Scout with 4 kincats. There is no bunny-hoping because of stamine (a good thing) but most games just cause a long air time when jumping to stop that, when DUST has issues getting over a door's threshold
The thing about the Cal-Scout is, If I run a Minmatar Scout with 3 complex ferros and 3 complex shield extenders vs Cal Scout with 4 shield enhancers and 2 ferros, I've got a high strafe speed than the cal scout and yet can't "wiggle," as you like to call it, enough to cause errors in hit-detection like the cal-scout can.
