Just to check it out, I threw down three months into eve. Foud out they nerfed my crow But the worst part was getting the game to work right proper out the launch gate.. but got that down. so I jumped into my claw and heading to jita. Funny. I now have an all new perspectiv eon eve cause of dust. I'm going to see if I can go kill soem people.

I kind of see the jag/wolf as the mk.0, and the M/1 as the rifter.

Thoughts? Are plated scouts really that much of an issue? I personally find Caldari scouts to be infinitely more annoying than any other scout.
The current speed penalty is enough to make any plated scout a really easy target.

Yes; brick is our biggest issue. Have a look at the next Nyain San "scout" you bump into. 500+ armor on a scout suit should come with steep penalty. If you want to be a medframe, run a f*cking medframe.
Shields are far less an issue than armor, but we're likely still going to have problem with CalScout "slayers" post Charlie. We will see a shift in their ranks from precision hunters toward heavily shielded, hit-and-run brawlers. Though there isn't anything inherently imbalanced about this; they'll be insta-gibbed by SG, AR, ScR, HMG and flux+anything.
The problem with the CalScout isn't its shields, the problem CalScouts is that HD isn't keeping up with strafe speed and acceleration (which we should push to fix in Delta).

It just comes down to the issue of too many bonuses. While I don't think adding the Damps would be absurdly OP (I actually suggested it back when Rattati was here asking questions), let the proposed Charlie changes go through and then re-assess from there.

I tend to agree...surely the min scout can't have it all? I thought Charlie was gonna give all scouts the possibility to stay off any scan by fitting the right mods, plus cloak (except Gal) depending on the scan strength. If Minnie can stay off p.scan innately, what should the other scouts get to compensate? It probably wouldn't matter, coz everyone would play Minja....wouldn't they?
Back to the same old problem - all scouts should be off *all* p.scans - there should be no precision bonuses (which removes the need for dampening bonuses). Being scanned is scout death, so how can you make a suit that innately gets to see others and then solve the balance issue?
Ditch precision + dampening bonuses, and figure out what the hell Amarr, Cal and Gal are supposed to be :-o Are there enough bonuses to go around?
- nova knives (situationally farking awesome) - hack speed (skirmish mastery) - stamina (meh unless Appia :) ) - range bonus (applies to non-light-frame innate 50dB minimum only)
Heavies can't see anything Assaults can't see logis or scouts Logis can't see scouts Scouts can't see scouts
By the way, no point being dampened when hacking if you're hacking a letter. Just like a good computer hacker, you can even tell what the suit is by measuring the time-to-hack ;-)

As someone that's been running a plated scout since. . . forever ago, I'm going to disagree with you. I made my case why I need 500EHP for CQC combat. It's a hallmark of Gallente to be fast, high damage, high HP
Shotty, I think you're progressed from "not making scouts a target of nerfs" to hampering alternative playstyles here.
Taking away the static bonuses and making them module dependent is all you need.
We don;t need to take punitive actions because people aren't playing scouts the way you want them to.

You need dampening to get too the point to hack it first through. And because you can be off to the side, unless an M8 packed or Core Locus is tossed your way being invisible while you're pushed to one side can be a great advantage to finish off the hack before they kill you.

As far as the minja- am I understanding the directional push is to make a minja undetectable with lv 5 dampening skill, 1 c damp, and an active cloak? When the cloak isn't active other scouts can pick him up, however?
