Cannon is the best 12k SP I've ever spent. SOOOO much fun with the cannon.

Overall, I don't feel like its "Wasted". I have options. So I make a LOT of fits that utilize these options. Not much use in PC per se, but in pubs, the versatility is amazing.

I may borrow a page from this book, sir. I wish I had another rifle, the shotgun, knives and perhaps the flaylock all to prof II. And I'd probably still have SP left over if I hadn't spent it all getting every ScP skill to Level V. Damn that OCD!!

Normally only around a week of grind (214k SP) I use these to test the weapons. Basic gives you the "Feel" of the weapon, but ADV shows the strengths. If you really enjoy using the ADV variant, get it to Pro (only a bit more SP after that). If you find it on all of your fits all of a sudden, get the extra skills. You can also read my Guide to Minmatar weaponry on NN for more info on weapons! Nothing says "F**K YOU!" like a direct Flaylock to the face. I've got 3k likes, I'll double post if I want to dammit!

I basically haven't used those since 1.5 other than when I've said "I haven't used the flaylock in a while," and put it on my suits. I also hate how I'm skilling into Cal-Commando, but it is pretty much the only choice available for sniping and i do have prof 3 in RR. I'll still have a scout-sniper build for each scout I have. I have to toss out all the non-PC fits when I join a PC because it bogs down your gameplay, so I'm glad I do that. If there were an optimal position, it would change every time the Devs tweaked aiming / HD mechanics. In the past a shooter need only try to aim to instagib an unarmored Scout, regardless of speed. Brick was a necessity. Then the Devs dialed back aim-assist in 1.7, and speed became slightly more effective. Brick is presently an option. With Fine Rifle TTK being addressed in 1.8, we may see more Scouts shedding pounds for speed. Brick may be balanced or eclipsed by Speed. IMHO, Speed vs HP comes down to personal preference, playstyle and the task at hand. What works one build may not the next, so there can be no right or wrong. Unless said Scout is in a HAV, in which case he is being a f*cking sissy coward.

I might go to level III in minmitar scout as that works pretty well as an alternative with only a million SP investment. Cal-sentinel because 1sec shield recharge.
