But he ran on a platform stating as such. He didn't want to participate in the debates. He refused to actually openly discuss ideas.

I just watched a player go 32/0 in a std logi suit with RE's.
It was the Gal lag facility and because of it he could just walk through without taking damage and players couldn't get away from him. We could all see him coming and try to kill him but it didn't matter.
It was pathetic. Even as an avid RE user you need to have to actually set the RE. Other wise it's just the new core locus spam. It was really disgusting. If it keeps up I'll actually start supporting the RE nerfs.
I was about to complete the necessary missions to get 6 keys but I'm not even going to bother now.

Got tired of fighting with my cloak and trying to hack stuff on Ashland, but getting picked off because the map is so small and I was seen so easily.
The worst part is that on my hacking fit, it doesn't matter if I am invisible because I can't fit damps. It seems kind of counterproductive, especially considering I am already giving up HP and any visibility with the cloak.

Fundamentally untrue, and malicious. When that happens, I simply stop listening. I think the problem is that the Dust community is a little... well, "spoiled" when it comes to Dust's monetization (for lack of a better word). For years there was next to no iteration on Dust's monetization, and so that's what we're used to. We got new features/content and that's it. That, frankly, is a ridiculous way to run a free to play game and I'm shocked that Dust higher ups didn't try to implement more stuff sooner.
Now that we're getting tons of monetization options in a short amount of time, and especially considering that most of the new content doesn't come on the form of weapons or maps, it's easy to see how that makes vets a little uneasy.
That not so say that the new stuff is perfect, mind. Warbarges definitely need tweaking and the key/strongbox ratio really ought to be adjusted, but I think most of the complaining about monetization is just culture shock and it'll die down as time goes on.

And peasants will believe what they want if they're idiots or rumour-mongers.
Nobody is going to spend their time policing the forums for misinformation. Nor should they. Every now and then (as seen here), maybe. It's forums - everything should be taken with a pinch of salt. Pics or it didn't happen. Quote a blue-tag if you know it's true and not conjecture. Otherwise, don't believe a word anyone says lol.

Warbarges are not real content, just a pretty menu where you farm components and upgrade stuff. It's basically one of those freemium mobile games, and like a mobile game, it's not fun, and heavily monetized to the point of being obnoxious. Wait an unreasonable amount of time to get what you want, or spend a lot of money and speed things up, and to even claim some items created by a subsystem costs even more time/money. People paying money to get access to the damage bonus (while everyone else lags behind, and can't be comparatively competitive) is straying into serious P2W territory.
I was fine with the instant boosting, booster stacking, respecs, BPOs returning to the market, Apex suits (though colors are gaudy and unfashionable). I didn't like strongboxes because they manipulatively prey on human psychological susceptibilities regarding the addictive nature of unknown rewards, and the rarity of keys under normal circumstances was excessive, but ultimately I could tolerate strongboxes. Warbarges cross a line, and frankly I find it insulting that this is the central content of an "expansion".

While I don't feel as strongly as others that the recent monetization efforts are over the top (I'm not calling it P2W). My eyebrows have been raised at some of the things going on.
Also... Could you imagine paying for a key and then discovering it was for a skill book you already had???
Now somebody (I think it was Pseudo) mentioned culture shock. And they're right. When people called Dust P2W in the past I genuinely laughed out loud and gave them **** for it. Aurum was for SP boosters, BPO's and maybe a weapon you wanted to test before skilling
But... We're getting to a point where so many of these new things are tied to Aurum it gets a little concerning.
I have to put my hand up an say... While I have them and they are nice to have. BPO's, The Market Agent and extra ISK from loyaltyrank all need to be tossed out on their ass. Because they're harming our chances of a true economic meta game.

Bayeth Mal wrote:The Market Agent and extra ISK from loyaltyrank all need to be tossed out on their ass. Because they're harming our chances of a true economic meta game. The possibility for an economic meta game (of sorts ) was more likely lost when PC 1.0 flooded the market with billions and billions of Isk without mechanism for reclamation.
"Too much money chasing too few goods" is supposed to result in inflation; typically, as currency supply grows, currency devalues as the costs of goods increase (often steeply). In Dust's case, currency supply grew, but both the value of currency and cost of goods remained fixed; 100k Isk will fetch you roughly the same bundle of goods today as it would in Uprising 1.0. There was suddenly alot of money in circulation, and there was no where for the money to go. So most of it remains in the coffers of the super-rich.
Elevated currency supply has greatly altered the state of day-to-day play and is most to blame for our lack of any economic meta game. The super-rich can quite literally afford to stomp about in proto gear constantly and indefinitely, so many do just that. To have decent odds of winning a fight against these super-rich, the opposition must in turn field decent gear (rich or not). Those who oppose the super rich successfully often do so at significant, relative loss. We're left with no option but to dispense even more Isk else the non-super-rich will go broke. And quit.
The Future There's a chance that Warbarge Fleet Command and/or PC 2.0's "Conquest Model" will be designed in a way which sponges up a portion of the excess Isk in circulation. This may not be a bad idea. If super-rich corps can buy a headstart over the competition, they absolutely will. And when one corp does, most others will follow. The more PC 1.0 Isk we reclaim, the more likely we'll be able to right the economy with PC 2.0. So why not take the ISK route rather than the AUR route? Let the super-rich PC crowd "get more faster" with their Isk; the rest of us will eventually catch up, and in the mean time we just might eliminate some of the more long-standing economic problems.
Thoughts?
Shoot scout with yes.
