If you want it a bit more light assault ish put a damage mod in high and swap the damps for another ferro. Or a rep. Of just stack regular plates like other people. But yeah, I'm always damped, even my assault. Also had some fun matches with Void today, even though we weren't squadded haha. Got some sweet knife kills, including a shotgun scout who tried to ambush me. He chased me around a corner and got a knife in the face. And those two guys hanging out up in the snipers tower. I climbed up behind them, one turned and saw me as soon as I got up. After that it turned into a brawl with both of them desperately trying to get out, trapped in there with me. TL:DR didn't do too badly considering I've been gone several months. We'll bang, OK?

Personally I use a dampener instead of a cardiac, so it at least takes a good GA logi to ruin my fun. Alas the only true way to test knives..... is to only use knives. Other weapons give you a rather large margin for error. It masks the backpedal issues. Movement and aiming mechanics in this game are the worse I have ever experienced. Most games I can come back to and get the muscle memory back quickly; DUST, on the other hand takes me several days of consistent play without switching games to return to even a modicum of past performance. Which is exactly why I always use knives, it doesn't require as much muscle memory. Aeon, having two swipes is better IMO. It has allowed me to kill suits I would otherwise miss due to delay of swipe. It saves me more frequently then kills me. This is likely a bigger issue for non-bonus suits since they don't have the alpha with a single charge to kill a suit. Heavys need two charge swipes, assaults usually only needed one, scouts mostly needed uncharged swipes. As far as just "sprinting" back to your victim after missing. I think even sprinting is worse off. My only luck when sprinting back to your victim was when you could sprint charge. The knife animation takes too long and its nearly impossible to hit someone while they are backpedaling with a charge swipe. Not to mention they are usually hopping up and down like a rabbit. It wouldn't surprise me, though it might be hard to test and figure out what is what. I REALLY like the idea of taking a little bit longer for matchmaking. With as small a player base as Dust has, I would rather wait a little longer and get into a good match than quickly be stuck into a bad one. This one struck me as being really odd, considering I usually have to wait around a minute or two before I get matched into anything in Dust.
