Say you got a Combat Rifle. Decent range weapon. Now say you come up behind someone. At like 70m, you're doing decent damage but not as much as you could be. Oh ****, he has a rail rifle and is doing full damage. All he needs to do to beat you is walk backwards and shoot.

But wait, you got the drop on him, why should he win that shootout? He shouldn't, but he does. Because he can move backwards just as fast as you can forwards. You try to sprint to get closer and do more damage, you get brapped.

On strafing. I whole heartedly agree. It's a pile of crap and I've mentioned it every time backpedal has been mentioned. But I haven't delved into is because that's not what the discussion is about

But why would I have brought it up you ask? In the vain hope that someone notices it and decides to make a discussion about it.

I certainly get the frustration of doing everything right to suddenly find that my target has spun round and is shooting the crap out of me. In the case of rifles I would not engage at 70m with a combat rifle without cover beside me to dodge behind cloak and then close the distance from a point I have the advantage. That is the point. I have stealth to engage when and where and run and cloak when needed if not insta killed anyway because I have less HP. A NK scout does not have to engage a target that is in a position to backpedal away. in tight spaces and around corners just sounds so much smarter so if the target does turn and see them they still have a corner to run around cloak and escape (I see it everyday and do it when I am cought in CqC range). the scout has speed and stealth for attack and escape the non scout has only HP and hoping they can turn quick enough before the scout gets them. They have no run and hide only turn and hope they see the scout before they are dead, I know this is not about strafe but they are one in the same. backpedal is a way for evading the same as strafing. I agree with backpedal nerf just for the reason it should be the slowest direction of movement but not if the faster person engaging can dodge bullets Matrix style while I am gimped running backwards trying to save myself. I would make strafing 75% and backpedal 50% just because it is logical a person move slower side to side and slowest in reverse. If you can't kill them scan them. Meta 13 Proto Stomp G-I Scout

I believe I heard a member of two of CPM1 say that if Legion gets canceled they'd tell us immediately [citation needed] / resign / something or other, and based on what the CPM have been saying it's still under development. That's not to say that everything's peachy, but it's at the very least still on the table. There are also gonna be lots of dust bunny representatives going to Fanfest 2015 to participate in the pubcrawls and roundtables, so I'm gonna wait until after that until I make my judgements. That said, until we get more news about Legion - even so much as a "It's still being worked on!" would do - I won't spend a penny on Dust. I love the work that Rattati has been doing and really want to support the game but this level of communication is absolutely unacceptable, even for CCP Shanghai.
