Out of interest, how many pure scouts are still here? Ones that don't use the cloak field...the 'rare breed'. If i start playing dust again (personal issues ) i will definitely give my minja and ck.0 brawler scout a decent chance without the cloak field.
It is just i like CQC'ing with people and love knives but the minja is built for knifing and the caldari scout is the perfect tank...almost an assault with godly eWar, biotic statistics and regeneration statistcs.
My to-do list when i return to dust:
Logi my own way to an OB, and never use the cloak on my minja!
And have some ISK!

Dude, I alone could easily pull 5-8 of those a match.
I would save it...an OB is easy to get (warbage strike) if you actually are trying for points. I squadded up with a commando ak.0 that was using a combat rifle and mass driver...he scored 1500 with me above 3600! Funnest match! Of course I tried with my amarr sentinel but he sucked at logi lol These will be spammed none-the-less but at least some of us are smart enough to save our points...? I don't think the system works on saving points. I think it's just "Get X strike after X points" Then again, we've never had options. It may actually be a "Spending" system. Wait until tomorrow to find out.
You earn WP and spend it on Strikes

Saying that "pure scouts" don't use it just sounds silly.

I don't mean pure as in more skilled than cloak users...just scouts that don't use the cloak. It is a handy tool to have though :)

I've been thinking about this a little bit, and how, when someone is dead, their passives continue to be shared with their squad until their clone is terminated. If you are taking advantage of the fact that they couldn't see you on TACNET to kill a group of people, it only means one thing: that group of people are not on coms together. What I am trying to say is that having someone's shortest scan broadcasted to TACNET after they die, revealing your position to the rest of her/his squad, is basically the same as trying to take out an organized squad with coms. When you kill one, they will all turn around whether you are on TACNET or not. You have to embrace this as an added difficulty but also a NECESSARY one if you ever hope to up your game and face PC level opponents. I am guilty of taking advantage of my target's silence hundreds of times. That will soon change, but hopefully will prepare me for a much higher caliber of opponent. you would be surprised how many times even in squads you can nk kill 1-3 of 4-6 them before they turn to kill you because you were fully damped even knowing a nk user is there they have no clue where since I was not on they tacnet but with this the dead members tacnet is STILL shared with his squad as long as he is not clone killed. even then as long as he don't hit the button to start to respawn it is still shared so guess what I am spotted.
so anyone notice that a 4 complex damp gall scout with proto cloak can not hide in the short range of 3 complex precision assault? |

I stopped using the cloak the last time I played because it was too aggravating to work around.
I know the previous removal of the decloak animation was supposed to be a hack, but I found that a much smoother mechanic than what is currently in place. Especially considering how it affects having cloak equipped but not active.

Early Impressions: Combat
The frequency of Scouts (in Ambush at least) appears unchanged. Heavily armored GalScouts seem more common than other Scouts. Backpedal Speed, Breach AR, and HMG Heavies remain imbalanced
The suicide f*cktards should be programatically removed from battle after X number of suicides. It is nothing for these guys to suicide 20x per match, and there's usually more than one of 'em. Out of 12 matches, matchmaking has put the "SUICIDE FOREVER" squad on my team 8 times. |

Yeah, after getting kicked out of the State War Academy, I wandered for a bit trying to figure out what to do from there. Couldn't go back to my family, they thought I was a disgrace.
Ran into some Vherokior while crashing at a pub. Got into a fight with some Amarr who tried to strongarm me into joining the Amarr Militia (Claiming that they were "Rescuing me from the company of these barbarians")
Sure enough, after I threw the man down trying to manhandle me, the Amarr with him looked ready for a fight, then backed down and left. Turned around and half the freaking cantina was standing up ready to fight as well.
They were willing to stand up for me when nobody else would. Ran with them for a bit, and found out that they are better family than anyone else I've ever had.
After hearing tales of their oppression at the hands of the Amarr, I decided to officially join the militia. NOBODY messes with my family.

took off the cloak, forget how much space that thing takes up, two regs , a kincat, and full shield for example.
And can fit full weapons, proto REs, K2s, and if I'm lucky a nade. Depending on the fit.
By the way 2 regulators is just evil.

Glad to hear that Minjas are not UP yet.
I bet it will take some playing around though before we really see where the new meta is going. It is still so early and I bet there will be some respecs purchased in the coming days.
It is a good sign though that somehow shotgunners are affected by the scan radius, but not knifing yet.
I have tomorrow and Thursday off and will spend some time on testing it out. The amount depends on how much fun/frustration I am having.
