That will also save on confusion when there is an actual minja BPO... unless it's a Quafe minja BPO in which case we're back to square one, but it'll be a very vibrant square one It has been, and remains, a goal of mine to get full racial and role BPO parity. It seems only fair to the player base, and more potential income for Dust is a good thing so win-win. Except, you know, for my wallet, which already cries silent tears Still need Templar Commando- Commando's existed when the templar sets were released and is unjust that we don't have them And need Templar Scout- for completion's sake. Which should also be given to the people that bought the 10 year pack.

Honestly dude, that is secondary to where the game is going. There is no reason to put any money into a game that has no future ya know?
I think anyone would tell you that those of us who funded them originally would begin to do so with a proper road map delivered that included console players.

2x Merc Pack v1, Merc Pack v2, Vet Pack, and $20 of AUR. I invested that money because I thought the game was going to grow. I was waiting for 10 months to get my cloak. Where's the deployable shield that supposed to come with it? Where's the player market? Why the **** are we dealing with 9 maps over 3 years.
I'll invest in the game again when I get twice the map, ones that don't like like an idiot designed them or specifically to spite a certain role, when the player market exists, and when deployable shields exist.

Cross.. Can i throw something out there.. And I know it might not be popular, but bear with me...
Can you talk CCP into delaying 1.9 with the goal of broadening the breadth of the update. To the point they could call it 2.0?
Like if they could open up discussions and work on adding more?
Reintroducing vehicles they took out with the design that hotfixes could easily help balance them based on what they've learned with CCP Ratattti. Variants of things.. from flux flaylocks to spec ops cloaks vs normal cloaks, etc. Perhaps more equipment, variants of dropsuits based on specializations, mm.. player trading? itams for itams/isk etc?
And then just commit to PS4? PS4 is x86 now.. war thunder has PC vs PS4 and it is golden man. They could do the same exact thing.. they already have the backend done.
Just **** I am hoping they are thinking about.

I think its more a matter of time and materials. Keep in mind we don't have proper patch notes on what's going into it, just a broad general idea.

Can you do me a favor and expound a little bit on that?
Time, yes. Which the point is to extend. materials? You talking polygon paint or... shrug. anyway..
Proper patch notes are provided upon completion and delivery of said patch. They are that only.
I am talking about expanding the general idea before it gets certified and we get patch notes.
Hopefully, that explains my thought process a bit better.

There's no way most of that's gonna happen without tons more people working on the game, months of effort or both. The smaller stuff is nice but we can wait an update. All in all I'd say it's not worth it.

Porting to PS4 doesn't require lots of extra people? The rest I'll give you, but porting a game is not a 2 or 3 person affair, especially if you want to do it in a few months.
Reintroducing vehicles is no easy feat (assuming you want them balanced), variants are nice but they can wait, and again, if you want them balanced it's gonna take a lot of effort. Player trading needs UI, meaning more dev resources + QA.
And really, you call THAT being a negative nancy? That's being realistic. Software development takes much longer than the layman thinks it does, especially when you're running a skeleton crew like we have now. I didn't say that none of this could happen, just that it could wait. We need more maps, better performance and NPC trading NOW. The opportunity cost of putting that off just so you can have a bigger, flashier update with a shiny 2.0 slapped onto it is just not worth it.

Look man.. that is dated. Many game engines allow you to code once, and port it.
It's not as much work as you'd think.
PS3 to PC? yes. huge issues.
PS4 to PC and vice versa along with both connecting to their backend.. no problem.
Everything code and dev wise has long ago started to converge, and this si the first generation of code coming about that takes advantage of it. A lot of the work is already done to boot.

IMHO that is shortsighted given the communicated lack of financial resources- which is the real crux of the issue. Meaning it has been implied that fees to sony for client updates are a barrier.

Except CCP posted that it costs them nothing to do a client update.
They simply didn't have the staff to run client updates. Rattati has been going for the 'low hanging fruits' in the form of hotfixes before now, but it seems he's managed to put together a larger update.

It's not as much work as you'd think.
We already know that DUST already runs a modified UE3 that, I would imagine has architecture dependent optimizations which would need to be removed along with the ported engine changes they make would need to be tested. On top of this, parts of the game are scripted with Stackless Python, which would need to be ported and tested. The scripts would need to be tested for all of the stupid bugs from using a dynamic language that is used on multiple platforms.
Ideally, as to think for the future, they would want to port to UE4 in the process as everything would look far better and likely run better.
CCP has proven time and time again that instead of doing things the right way they would rather do it the easy/fast way that makes things in the future a pain in the ass.
