Any advice for someone running knives on a non-Minmatar suit? More specifically Amarr? Because the suit has such a crappy base walk speed I generally can't get people without doing a jump-charge. I already have been running two KinCats and it helps a lot.

Them's the breaks for those amar pussies.
Yeah that's what I've been starting to get. Can't really run them as a primary and rely on my other weapon as backup. However it does fit nice with an ACR or AScR. Thanks though!

I wonder what you guys think of the sniper rifles and what should happen those?
Also how are scouts holding up after alpha so far? If you want opinions on sniper rifles, I'm sure you'd find the majority of people would agree with Moody's video
The Amarr scout bonus is like the old Amarr sentinel bonus. No one needed 25% reduction to overheat damage on a heavy;_;

That will just make people not use sniper rifles. The sole problems are with the fact you have to crouch to be even slightly effective with them which forces people to want to just camp.
What's the best place to camp? Obviously a place that the enemy team can't shoot at you.

Pretty similar to how I already fit it.
2x Complex precision
Viziam Scrambler Rifle M209 Assault SMG
F/45's ARN
Complex KinCat Complex Damp Complex Repair Complex Fero
Only difference to my current 'all purpose' fit is the damp normally is a range amplifier. Generally in PC I like to keep three fits on hand. The one already stated if they happen to have a lot of heavies/logis. If the match is a complex roflstomp, I just run two complex fero and two complex repair with 2 complex precision. If they are running a lot of scouts I'll double damp with a fero and a rep.

Precision on the Amarr, at least in pubs, is freaking hilarious.
Lol look it's a Caldari scout behind the wall! *Pew pew pew pew*
Oh god! A cloaked Gallente scout? *Pew pew pew pew pew*
Hardly anyone runs damps in pubs, and when you double damp with precision it completely knocks Caldari scouts over, their crutch can't save them! Muahahaha

It doesn't make enough of a difference from where I'm standing because I run 3x Complex Precision Enhancers on my Scout C-I. The 5% bonus from the ARN doesn't make a difference Because lolpubs. Most Caldari scouts only run one precision and a lot don't even run one. Very similar reason to why I see cloaked Gallente scouts in my Amarr scout all the time in pubs.

The cloak dampening bonus was never useful. If I can be scanned at all, cloaked or not then it doesn't matter to me.
If anything the cloak should have a negative profile bonus.

Thats what i was thinking before 1.8 come out. I didn't think being invisible to both scan and sight was balanced. but then again when moving we are not really that invisible and being visible to scan puts a pointer over our head. 9/10ths of people who play DUST are either blind or mentally unable to piece together what their eyes are seeing.
That's why it works so well.

Unless they get me from behind in which case the cloak didn't matter - or shot me down because they didn't use a cloak in the first place
My only frustrations are when they pop me while cloaked around corners. Either way it's not that big of a deal.

I've pretty much done it all, and the PVP is pretty bad IMO. Yeah, I'm pretty much out of stuff to do. I'm hoping that there will be some additional content after the reset, considering the amount of level 10 stuff poping up and the story mission on the moon that can't be selected. Will have to see I guess. Just grinding for advantage doesn't seem worth it, as they haven't announced if Beta progress carries over yet. Yeah, with the amount of time put into grinding now, you'll find much better gear when the game releases just progressing through the levels.

mollerz wrote:Look man.. that is dated. Many game engines allow you to code once, and port it.
It's not as much work as you'd think.
We already know that DUST already runs a modified UE3 that, I would imagine has architecture dependent optimizations which would need to be removed along with the ported engine changes they make would need to be tested. On top of this, parts of the game are scripted with Stackless Python, which would need to be ported and tested. The scripts would need to be tested for all of the stupid bugs from using a dynamic language that is used on multiple platforms.
Ideally, as to think for the future, they would want to port to UE4 in the process as everything would look far better and likely run better.
CCP has proven time and time again that instead of doing things the right way they would rather do it the easy/fast way that makes things in the future a pain in the ass.

How would you guys feel about completely removing headshot damage from heavies?
Whenever I've run them I get more headshots from not, which is pretty stupid considering that you pretty much just have to aim in their general direction.

Whenever I've run them I get more headshots from not, which is pretty stupid considering that you pretty much just have to aim in their general direction. The only way a sniper can kill a heavy is to hit it in the head. If the heavy must keep its gargantuan HP and explosive resistances, it should be slower to turn, and it should take increased damage when hit from behind. But I may have misunderstood. If you're asking if headshot damage should be removed from HMGs, yes. Kinda like how Core Locus Grenades were dealing headshot damage if your head was within the blast radius. . . which it alwasy was, the HMG pretty much launches a few dozen at the head. Boundless is all about spray-and-pray, and those Sentinels must be very pious, for their prayers are answered often. But the way he wrote that looks like THUNDERGROOVE wants an even easier time with a 1.7k armor tanked Sentinel Oh yeah, I meant from the HMG. I don't run heavies unless I'm using my FG.

It's because you phrased it, "When I run them" instead of "When I run into them."
[/quote] Well starting out in uprising I specced fully into heavies. Got bored of it and specced out when 1.8 dropped and we got dropsuit SP refunded. I keep a proto basic frame for forge gunning and the occasional HMG run because I still have nearly max HMG skills.
I absolutely hate being in a heavy suit though. I feel more dirty than when I roam Minmatar space, the sky boxes make me feel icky.

Not enough to make it worth your time.
How does anyone think this is going to work? There's too many things in this game that are so useless at STD level you might as well not use.

When I have a different tool that I've been working on, on and off, I plan on making a frontend similar to protofits just for my own purposes.
If you are a little more tech savy you could use it in it's current state, but for now it's just a simple raw JSON server and command line tool. SDETool2
