I knifed a gk.o sentinel camping a tower with a gatsun's. twice. Once by climbing the 20 story ladder and knifing him. Then I crashed a DS into the roof and half killed him before his squad took me down- they were ready. Then I flew another DS to the roof, rammed their incoming reinforcement DS, landed on the roof, slashed the gatsun fatty twice and he ran off the roof and my final slash hit with us both in mid air as we went over. I fell next to his carcass for a bit then hit the inertia damp. It was mothe r **** iNG EPIC.

So...looking for some opinions from the peanut gallery.
Is it worth putting dampeners on fat suits? If so, how many for it to be useful? 1 seems like not enough, and 2 seems like a waste of low slots when there's so much tied up in low tank.
For amusement I've started branching out into all Minmatar suits to advanced (except logi, **** logi's) and have just put points into standard Minmando. Armour and shields don't seem worth it (1 high and 1 low), so trying to decide between a repper, kin cat or damp in lows (damage mod in high).
Already have the Minmatar sentinel to advanced with two fits for point defence and AV work (HMG with reppers and Forge with kin cat), so looking to do something a bit different, Assault CR and Massdriver maybe?

I missed a lot of barbershop apparently. Spademan's kudos to DS2. Jaceon is doing some skyrim is he? I was gone for the weekend so need some brief news in the form of TLDR
So I figured out how to take on a non-shotgun scout as a heavy. I was standing at the top of the stairs in my Mauler heavy. I had ran out of the Toxin SMG ammo and the forge ammo but he didn't know that. So I was at the top he was at the bottom. After a while I realized why he wouldn't come up the stairs.
So I stand just to the left of the top of the stairs and then for one second I turn my back on the door. I let that second pass then whip around and start beating the **** out of the Caldari light frame. He never even shot off a round before I was trying to melee him. It was really hard to land the hits though cuz he be faster yo, but in the end I got the assist on him.

Dear Llast, I've joined the Companions, like I was thinking about doing. I like Farkas... simple brute, but trustworthy. There's another, Aela. They call her 'Huntress.' She comes off as a ***** at first, but she's proving to be a very loyal Shield-sister. One of our Shield-brothers fell, recently - bit off more than he could chew. We avenged his death, but she wasn't satisfied. Frankly, neither am I. I feel... hungrier, lately. For battle, I mean. And she and I are of one blood, now.
So I've come to the Rift to pursue a lead on the group whose members killed Skjor. As soon as I entered Riften, I started to become aware of a deep corruption in this place, at the municipal level. This, in turn, brought to my attention a deal that had been struck to sell a horse. It turns out the horse being sold wasn't technically the seller's horse to sell. It belongs to his family. But the seller, he didn't want to cross the buyer, so he asked me to go steal the horse and its papers and deliver them...
But the buyer is kind of a jerk. And I have the horse and the ownership papers... and I'm tired of walking. 1000 gold is a lot to pay for horseflesh, but every stable seems adamant on that price.
My new horse's name is Frost. He's a pretty one. Now I'm off to look into this Silver Hand business.

Iono, I figure, no point trying to hide a heavy. But seeing on the other hand....an alt is a gal heavy. I take it out rarely so can't really say if it's effective or not, but I had no idea what to put in the single high - so I went L3 Precision Enhancement and I run around with an ADV profile enhancer on it. Protofits says that's a 44dB p.scan. Assaults and Logis have a 45dB profile *with* L5 dampening. So unless they run a dampener, I get to see them on passive.
Like I say I've not tried it, but that feels like it should be awesome :D

Dear Matti
Went off to a watch tower just outside the city with Irileth (sp) as they'd spotted a dragon. The tower had been wrecked, and after a couple of minutes searching around, the dragon appeared. There were about five of us attacking it, me from a distance with my bow (no I'm not a coward, but nobody else was using a bow so I thought it was a good tactical move on my part). We actually killed it...in fact, it seemed a little easy to kill.
I absorbed something from it when I went to loot it. Weird. Dayum this thing has expensive bones - they will make a pretty penny once I've lugged the things back to the city - they are heavvvy. I fast-travelled back to Whiterun - couldn't be arsed to run. As I went through the doors there was some sort of thunder that sounded like a voice in the sky. I have no idea what it was or what it said because some random townsperson was talking to me at that exact moment. Hope it wasn't important.
After I found somewhere to sell the dragon bones, I decided to go seek out this codpiece guy - the leader of The Companions. I had to run an errand for them, and they sent someone with me - Falkor I think his name was. We went in this dungeon, and I got caught in a booby trap where I was in a little room and a gate had locked me in there. Falkor made some comment about what I'd got myself into, and then suddenly there were about five humans closing around him to kill him. I couldn't get out to help him, I could only watch on helplessly as he turned into a farking werewolf and slew them all inside 2 seconds. Then he found out a way to release me.
He's a werewolf? WTF. Such a clich+¬. Anyway I'm not scared any more, this guy is OP.
So we return from this dungeon and he vouches for me during some ritualistic acceptance ceremony, and I am now one of the Companions. I wonder where Aela is.
Tomorrow I think I'm gonna find out more about this Wizard's College people keep mentioning. I could use some magic training...
Duncan

Even with the precision you're only going to see mediums that get within 15m, or 22m with an complex range amp Would like to see heavies and assaults able to get their scan range out to 30m or so with a single module. Once shared passived are gone, could really change up the fitting meta.

Well.. F skyrim. I'm doing Wasteland 2. it's much like Xcom in that you make a personalized squad. i've decided to make the core squad based on barbershop scouts. And as new followers and NPCs join our group, I will rename them to other scouts here. so people can die. I can tailor people with attributes and skills. and it is basically fallout 3. the real fallout 3.
August 4th, 2044
Finally. I found a notebook in the backpack of a corpse we found along the side of the road. Despite the grim origins, I can begin keeping a journal once again. I was really missing my almost nightly ritual of putting my thoughts to paper. Sorting my head on paper always helped me process the panic that greets you when you wake up each day. It's hard not knowing if today was going to be your last. This was two days past that we came upon the massacred caravan. It had been pretty much picked clean, and finding the satchel tucked under that poor woman seemed a miracle. It only had the notebook and sticks of charcoal, but it may as well have been gold to me. The only thing that could have been better was water. We thought we were somewhere in what was Arizona on the pre-war maps. The desert was scorching during the day and freezing at night. We had been out of water for the two whole days, and the unspoken thought was that we were going to die amongst the butchered in the ruin of the empty wagons.
The past month had been brutal, and I think Shotty and I were okay with going out like this. At least we were going out on our own terms. We had run out of ammo fighting roving gangs getting this far. We were at our last gasp. After all we had been through. The massive attack on Shotty and my settlement out East, the butchering of our families, our friends. A small group of us, about fifty managed to escape the slaughter. We watched from the hills as our homes burned. The bandits that attacked us were heavily armed and expertly trained. We figured ex military now gone rogue and organized under their own banner. It was impossible to fight back at this point. Our numbers too few, our supplies too low, and the list of reasons it would be folly to exact revenge now got far longer.
So we decided to make our way to California. We had heard all the legends. about the gold... the lost city that was spared from the war. We could make a new home. And Shotty and I agreed, when the time was right, we'd come back and take our real homes back. But as fate would have it, none of those dreams looked likely. there were only four of us left. Me, an army brat brought up by my parents in a bomb shelter until we ran out of food. I had the training to kill, and that's why I am still here. Then there was Shotty. He was an older guy, but he was the best damn doctor I have ever met. He knew his way around getting people back on their feet. Were it not for him none of us would be here. And then there's Llast Monk. We weren't sure how we fell in with him. Somewhere in the Midwaste, in some backwater settlement Shotty and I kind of went off the rails. Llast Monk was with us the next morning when we regained consciousness and he just stuck to us. It's okay though, he brews some of the best ale this side of the atlantic. And he can buy the shirt off the back of the shrewdest piker merchant. And then there's Cassapia. She's a hard hitter for sure. Shotty and I had found her back East nailed to a pole. Somehow she was alive, and Shotty worked his miracles on her. She lets out bits and pieces of her past from time to time in the depths of some monk juice bender. scrawling mismatched details on walls with charcoal.Mostly it was dark drawings. Sometimes unintelligible paragraphs with some words clear, others gibberish. Best I can tell she grew up in a gypsy tribe that ****** with the wrong people and they all paid for it. Cass was the only survivor, and she had to watch everyone she loved die horribly slow. She doesn't say much since they cut her tongue out, but her facial expressions have evolved to kill. She could also hit the flicking tongue off a gila lizard from a mile away if you gave her a rifle. I only say so because I saw her do it enough I'm not impressed anymore. Misery truly loves company.
So here us knuckleheads are, dying of thirst, wordlessly watching the buzzards eating the corpses surrounding us, when a squad of rangers came upon us. At first they saw all of our weapons and thought we had been the raiders who'd slaughtered these people. But then they realized how far gone we were, and figured we were survivors of the caravan. After a tense shuffle of being at gunpoint to getting generous gulps of precious beautiful cool water, Llast told them the gist of our circumstances. They had a radio! It actually worked too. They called someone far away and got the okay to bring us in.
What they didn't say, and what I should have known, is that nothing is for free. Not in this world. Our lives for some work. They said the rangers were always looking for recruits like us. So I guess this isn't the end of our road. And just maybe, this will be how we get back home. So we went and met their leader. We were going to have to prove ourselves. And the first thing that bastard does? Is gives us back to the wastes to find the killers of one of their own. If this is all we gotta do, well, let's just get it over with already. I'll write more tomorrow. I need some shut eye before we head out tonight.

Dark Souls 2 time with the Spade. Fresh souls, dug straight from the corpses of the fallen.
I descend into the gaping chasm before me by way of an elevator. As I reach the bottom I hear this...enchanting voice singing. Rather beautiful I must say. As I'm admiring the tune I spot something to the side. Dressed in robes that I can't help but recognise. Is this one of those Archdrakes from Lindelt I've heard stories about? Whatever it is, it's certainly not running at me and brandishing a mace to have a chat. A skilled fighter, but is cut down nonetheless. As I walk down a flooded path, I notice abominations lurking in the water. They've not approached me, but I can't take any risks. I dispose of them before they have a chance to catch me off guard. Curiously, even as I hit them, they do not react. No attempts to defend themselves whatsoever.
Continuing down the path, I enter a small hut. Inside was the source of the song, a woman, stopped now that I've arrived. I talk to her, she keeps speaking in plural, we and our, perhaps there is more further afield? She says they keep the beasts tame. Exiting the hut, more of those abominations rush me. I prepare for battle with the creatures. But then the singing starts once more, and these beasts seem to forget everything. What kind of blissful ignorance does that song lull them into? I am thankful, as it makes it that much easier to cut them down. I follow the submerged path an encounter 3 more archdrakes. After these I find a misty door into a tunnel. Having passed through it, I can no longer hear that wonderful song. A shame in it's own right, but it also means the abominations will attack me on sight.
I pass through the tunnel into another open submerged ruin. This time I am greeted by some sort of sorcerer, a former priestess perhaps? She surrounds herself with the abominations which attack as she casts. The creatures are of little consequence, but the magic hits fairly hard. As ever, I emerge victorious and press on. More sorcerers surrounding themselves with the creatures greet me. Each fall to my blade. I pass through a cavern and on the other side I spot a third hut, guarded by an ogre. As I approach I hear it, the singing started again from inside the hut. I can't get distracted though, not with the ogre here. It's clumsy punches fail to do any damage, and as it falls to the ground I manage to critically wound it. It takes a step back, but I charge the beast to finish the job. In side the hut I find another woman, but as I approach to speak to her she disappears in a golden glow.
I follow the stairs down to a large mist door. Behind it I find what at first glance appears to be a large frog, though as I approach a vile demon sprout forward out of the mouth. As I attack it retracts, using the outer shell as protection. I plan my assaults carefully, waiting out it's various onslaughts to follow up with my own. After much back and forth I greatly weaken the beast. It attacks once more, but as it charges so do I, piercing it's eye with my halberd. The demon is vanquished. A passageway behind it seems to lead to a crypt. That's my next destination.
But not now, I must rest now. I will do no good whilst fatigued.
