What I expected was an exploration game. Where you could travel the vast wastelands of earth, discovering what happened whilst fighting off the new, monstrous inhabitants of the land. I don't feel that I really got any of that.
Story: It started off promising, but then turned into "Generic SciFi stuff happens because space" Gameplay: Decent, nothing special. A bit too slow for me. Weapons: Some pretty interesting stuff, like the Fusion Rifle and Pulse Rifle. Only problem is Handcannon A is the same as Handcannon B, only B does more damage. There's almost no reason not to use the latest weapon you get. PvP: Don't bother. Seriously. Bad mode is bad. Bad level design is bad. Bad pvp is just bad.
Level cap is 8. Kinda disappointed at that, especially since I've found a bunch of stuff for level 10 and upwards. It doesn't feel like there's anything too explore. Everything's just there. There's no feeling of vastness, 10-ish people are just shoved into the same small instance. Maybe the full version will be better, I don't know, but I don't expect much to change in 2 months.
Final Verdict: 6/10. 80% Underwhelming, 20% as expected, 0% pleasantly surprised. I cannot justify spending any more then maybe Gé¼20 if I were to buy it. I did a bit of exploring on Destiny, and really all the areas seem kind of the same. It's this big open area with three or four sidequests available which revolve around kill stuff, go to a place and kill stuff and take stuff from the people you killed. It's all pretty much the same and gets dull really fast. There's no feeling of vastness when you can explore the available map in about 30 minutes.
And again, this doesn't feel like a beta, more like a glorified demo designed to attract attention and getnmore sales. If they really made this a beta, there'd be no silly level cap, all content would be accessible. How can we give feedback properly and make Destiny an avtual good game when 90% of the content is locked out?
Anyway, I'd be happy to have some friends to play with on the PS3, you can find me as NikodemosTheMan.

I have to admit I kind of like the feel in Destiny, to bad about the 6v6 pvp format and the 3 player pve squads ruining things...
I would love to be able to call in a jet bike like that in Dust.
For all the snide comments I make about Dust it is turning out to be really difficult to replace, damn I think I am getting my hope up again about Dust/Legion, everything else just seems lacking in one way or another.
In spite of Dusts poor execution of basically everything in it, it manages to keep me engaged.
Knifing in Destiny sucks, knifing in Dust is really fun!
I was running this fit before the Destiny Beta started.
Scout gk.0 2x Complex Shield Extender 1x Enhanced Cardiac Regulator 2x Complex Kinetic Catalyzer 1x Complex Profile Dampener 1x Prototype Cloak 1x Prototype Flux Uplink Ishukone Nova Knives
I gave up on trying to have a light weapon pretty quickly and fitted the Nova Knives in the light weapon slot. Then I gave up on having something in the sidearm slot because of poor responsiveness of the switch weapon controls on the mouse, I've tried out different mouses and the problem is with Dust... surprise...
Anyhow love knifing people now! :-)

Now that is a pro knifer move.
However, despite the poop switch mechanics- always toss a sidearm in if you can. it's better to have it and not need it vs. the alternative. I put GN-20 Specialist flaylocks in- 0 PG, and it can have multiple uses.
takes out enemy equipment well, can finish off badly wounded but now out of reach knife prey, can clear objectives in the event you run out of fluxes, and my favorite, can buy you time by rapid firing 3 shots at pursuers and running. The shock and awe of three explosion all around most people wig them out despite the tickles it gives them.

I run max speed and that means only NKs due to PG of KinCats. I was really looking forward to charlie for the PG changes but I think Ill try out this flaylock idea.

I hardly think so, since I've been able to comprehend sales I don't recall ever hearing or seeing the term "Black Friday" referencing anything outside of America. That whole day seems bizarre to me. Why on earth would you put all the sales on one day? That leaves no time to actually think about what you're doing or buying.
It's happening here in Blighty. Black Friday is now a thing. I already knew about it (the horror!) as my wife is American, but Amazon UK and others now do Black Friday sales, though they've yet to match the build-up you get in the States. So yeah, because of online sales.

[edit] Have to say it is a nostalgic time of year in the US around Thanksgiving, you know the hols are around the corner, you're seeing family, you're figuring out what you might get in the sales, though as technically a tourist, I probably have an optimistic experience of it. Though trying to travel is nuts and expensive.
Can't do pumpkin pie though - something not right about that :-o Well, like anything that's happening in England, I trust us Irish to resist it
How does it work though? I remember Asda up north trying a one day sale which resulted in it being barred from doing it again due to injuries.

I run a basic flaylock on my 3x kincat G-I fit. Coz nothing else fits like you say. I blew up a LAV with it today. Wooooh.
I think skilling into them a little more might be a smart move. Pyrex seems to make em work as a finisher in his vids.

haha.
I never go to the shops when there's sales on. Too many humans. The Interweb on the other hand....so I don't really know, but there's always stampedes in the queues at midnight openings and crazy crap like that on the news. I think in US they've started opening on Thanksgiving Day itself as it's becoming a safety issue.
