I'm proud to say that I survived 1.3 with a 1.4 k/d. Coincidence? I think not. I hope that for 1.5 I don't just end with a 1.6 k/d. It's all about the cool kills that matter to me. It's about the rush, it's about thos cqc moments that feel long. It's about the sharphooting snipers. I hope the game starts to reward clever players for their tactics. I'm ready for a game, I have died too many times to game mechanics, about 90% of the time. I want to see us rise and kill more effectively.
Everytime I play, it's like I'm directing my own ninja, spy-movie. I hope you do too! It's almost too intense to play sometimes. My heart races, I get frustrated at the stupid deaths. I get super happy when I do the unthinkable though. My corpmate txtd me saying "niuvo ftw!!" when he saw me infiltrate, hack and defend "A" on dom. I was solo so, was he. He was sniping on our side watching me lol. Later I found that he was in game. After I got the hack, he defended it beautifully with a charged SR.
What helps me alot get into that scout/ninja movie mode is by putting music on my ps3. I flow with the music. I hope the scout gets better and better bros. |

Things in 1.4 that make me happy: -Audio cue of breaking glass when shields get hit. Makes fight/flight response kick-in! -Audio cue of scout grunting when armor gets hit. Humanizes the clone and me sad when he dies. -Footsteps, footsteps everywhere! -Tacnet is blank unless you active scan....then laugh as your entire team orients to their position in unison -NOBODY sees you coming, although random sniper rounds are still annoying -Starmap planet skins give a sense of awe and wonder -My M1s are deadlier as a pre-emptive attack just prior to SG flank. Airburst ftw!
Things in 1.4 that make me sad: -EVERYTHING seems to hit harder at medium and CQC...except SG. -My ability to speed through an enemy squad now results in death more often than not -Ambush queue puts me in domination matches -Jerky framerate issues have returned -SMG no longer the killing machine it was yesterday

The first is what I was expecting - no more darting between tiny pieces of cover to avoid a hail of proto AR death I guess :(
The second bit though...did I miss something in the patch notes or is it something attributed to the other changes they made?
I'm getting impatient - the train home is taking far too long to arrive... |

DS3 w/ auto-aim ~= uncapped mouse.

In a game I had a neg k/d with 12 deaths_not bad for a scout lol It sucks how wea re trying to break the mold and be different, but we are being punished/over-looked. REs are better, I got me about 6 kills so far. I haven't seen if they still fizzle. I'll be logging in for the bonus. I'll run suicide missions. I encountered ruz0r on the field and we began to dance with knives, I tried to kill him and so did he. blues came to kill him and disturbed our dance, he evaded. I gave chase and a blue and I fell to his RE trap. Well done ruz0r. I get too excited during knife fights. |

So the new maps are good, goes without saying well done on that.
I have mixed feelings about the TacNet changes, but I'm leaning more positive on that so far. Using active scanners has become almost a must for me, and along with the attempted scans I've denied it's helped push me towards feeling a little more "scouty". Since I use scanners more now I've dropped my nanohives so now I have to rely on other people to resupply my MD, which although kind of lame, I guess helps push the game to be more team oriented which would better in the long run I guess.
The base scan radius on the scout is a definite issue though.
I'm not sure if it's the aim assist or the removed rotation cap but running past enemies to escape is less feasible. And even with multiple shield extenders every stray bullet seems to hurt a a lot more. |

I suspect this may be why we're being mowed faster. Off-target shots are hitting us (whereas before, only off-target shots behind our player model would hit us). |

After playing around tonight on my own I came to the following personal opinions about 1.4
PROS:
- Scanning is fun and useful
- No shared profiles on the mini map ensure my stealth play is more successful
- New map is a nice change of pace
CONS:
- Scanning still doesn't give me a WP reward as an incentive to use them
- Aim assist is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the top, especially for us Scouts who now die even easier than before
- Shotgun hit detection is god awful broken (first hit never registers damage)
- Nova Knife hit detection is almost as bad as the Shotgun
- Matchmaking is god awful broken: set my options to Skirmish only and got funneled into ambush and domination matches. Also, got put into matches where there were not full teams on each side.
- AFK'ers are even more prolific than before and I show not sign of them being kicked as promised. Some seem to be running against the MCC walls... probably using a rubber band on their controller I would assume.
- Latency issues are back
Overall, i'm not very impressed with the update. Hopefully, some of the bugs will be fixed in the coming week or so. Regardless, I think i'm nearing the end of my ropes. Not sure how much longer I will continue on with this game at this rate. Going to play around for another day or so and see if I run into other issues or if things get fixed. Then I will be deciding if I will continue to play or if I will quit playing the game completely until Scouts get some love and just rack up some Passive SP while I play other games. |

Also: devs confirmed they knew scouts are having trouble and are pretty much putting any fixes on the backburner for the foreseeable future then introduced aim assist back into the game a mechanic that makes it easier to track and kill your target.

So, first day of the patch I got landed in a 1v11 Domination on a new map. I was the 1. Ended up destroying 2 tanks, 2 installations, 1 dropship, 3 LAV's, killing 4 infantry, hacking 3 CRU's, 2 Depot's and about 4 installations. Took 3 deaths. Not a bad day. |

AR's are the worst of the bunch, GEK's and Duvolles - blink and its over.
CCP need to reduce their range a bit if they are going to be that deadly.
Thanks for all the analysis on the skills. I have cut off my precision at Lv3 and wont invest in dampening since I only have two low slots. Much respect to Ivan Avogadro who always advocated staying away from it. I may continue to add to my range amplification when I have SP to spare.
Had no real issues with tacnet, if you squad it seems fine and thats a good thing. I also had fun with people trying to scan me (lets me know they might be close). A group were trying to enter the facility and scanned three times before they entered that allowed me to alert the heavy hitters to get there and massacre them.

Well my mass driver can't drop what I'm shooting at fast enough contend with the impossible aim of the AR/SCR, especially in a minja suit.
My SMG though is rocking dudes sacks may have to use that as a primary and the mass driver to finish guys off lol.
Also I may be broke soon because I'm getting thrashed out there I went 11/9 the other day in a domination, if I went anywhere or did anything on my own I was dead before I realized I was being shot at |

Well my SMG kills a lot better, Passive scanning actually works(only if in range). Overall i like the patch and they said they fix the match making. also i love the new outpost an maps they really are the best yet. Scouts are now officially the most under powered suit in the game. |

I was really reluctant to drop my nanohives from my MD fit, but the active scanner is really helpful for getting behind the enemy so you don't go down in a second. |
