Bit late for a response, but I didn't find this post until today. Anyway, here goes:
mollerz wrote:I just played a match with canaan in his squad. All he does is spam uplinks and ammo and sits atop a tower in a heavy suit with a forge. he never covered me and there were enemy tanks everywhere, so fuk if i know what he actually does. You can't assume that sitting atop a tower with a forge gun is all I do after only witnessing it once. However, I do use the forge gun more often than the HMG, but that's only because the latter is underpowered, and that's going to change in 1.4. Also, I can only deploy two uplinks and one nanohive at a time, which is hardly spam.
There's only so much a forge gunner can do to cover teammates at extreme ranges, especially with an assault forge gun. I can weaken or kill enemies for you, but they are difficult to spot and keep track of at long ranges. As for tanks, it's not always possible to destroy them. Sometimes the best I can do is keep them suppressed. If they're out of range or under cover, I can't do anything about them, but my presence does serve a purpose.
I remember the match you're referring to, and it wasn't one of my best. Sometimes I can't do my job because there's a sniper watching my every move, and I'm pretty sure that's why I couldn't do anything about the tanks.
Quote:before i left his squad i left a note letting him know scouts were considering putting a bounty on him Unfortunately, I didn't notice your message until after you left the squad. I think I sent you a message after the battle, but you never replied. On a side note, I was in OZAROW's squad yesterday, but I don't think he noticed. |

Nice place you got here. :) Wish there was something like this for heavies. On the subject of 1.4, it seems like you guys are effectively getting a buff with the TacNet changes. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. |

I have a growing list of corp and alliance-related channels, so I had to make a few sacrifices, but now I'm tempted to come back. :) Haven't spent any points on dropships though. Hopefully 1.4 will allow me to make my MLT fits more durable. |

Most of my deaths so far have been caused by ARs and scrambler rifles. Seems like the aim assist changes have made it far too easy to kill scouts. |

KDR went from 4.00 to 3.89 since I started playing scout. I don't die very often, but I don't get a lot of kills either. Still have some work to do on that front. |

btw i'm regreting that i didnt spec into racial minmatar scout suit... the profile damping bonus would be really handy nowadays (back then it wasnt that necessary).... well i got all the way to proto and i'm using my proto suit never -.- waste of SP... as well as wasting my Sp into Nova Knives which i dont use ... oh and the flaylocks which i stopped using too...
sad scout is a sad scout (Q.Q) I skilled into nova knives and flaylocks too, but I rarely use them. Working on the racial Minmatar suit as we speak. Fortunately, I didn't level up the Minmatar Scout Dropsuits skill past III. |

I use heavy suits more often than scout suits, so I should probably be removed from this list for the time being. Truth be told, I'm having some difficulty adjusting to the scout class. It might take me a while to get good enough. |

Shotty, I'm thinking of making a similar thread for heavies. Got any advice for me?
P.S. We should squad up for Gallente FW again. I haven't had much success playing solo, as you can imagine. :) |

Shotty GoBang wrote:Hard mode has always been associated with a low KDR, even in previous builds when we had a speed advantage. Many great Scouts have low KDRs ...some have asked that i not publish KDR by individual. i respect their wishes. I'm probably going to do the same thing. I think that showing each player's KDR would cause too many issues. |

I can see REs with active scanners, but they don't show up on passive scans. Is this working as intended? |

Is this working as intended? depends on the precision of each scan I presume I have Precision Enhancement Level 5 and at least one complex precision enhancer on most of my fits, but REs never show up on the minimap for me, even in close range. My scan precision is 17.5 for close, 35 for medium and 45.5 for far. |

So I made a BPO scout fit and have been playing around with it for the past few days. I never really gave the class a chance, probably because I was too afraid of losing ISK, but I'm getting better with it now that I don't have to worry about that. It's a lot of fun once you figure out how to take advantage of the suit's strengths. I might start using better gear soon, if I can spare the SP. |

IAmDuncanIdaho II wrote:Hey! It *is* fun, my favourite is the Minja, I'm average at best, but it is hella fun when you go 18-5-6 in skirmish, most of those are NK kills in the city, and clone the reds in a tight game with the last kill in the feed reading [your name here] [dead red name here] Ishukone Nova Knives. I'm a Min scout as well. I don't use knives often though, but I did get a pretty nice kill with standard NKs recently. |

If you are new to them, it is probably best to use them less regularly. Mostly with stationary targets like hackers or snipers or just people unaware.
Std are REALLY hard to get kills with considering all the tanking. That's what I was trying to do. The guy I killed was hacking an objective, so I hit him with a charged swipe. When he began to move away from me, I sidestepped a few feet to the right, charged up again and killed him instantly. I thought he had gotten away after the first swipe, so I was totally surprised to see +50 on my screen.
I'll try using regular swipes like you suggested though. As a heavy, I get targeted by NK scouts all the time, so I can attest to their effectiveness. :) |
