Personally, I find HMG's to be the worst, I always try to avoid heavy's with them. Second would be AR due to the sheer number of users, third would be MD, for the same reason as the AR. Anything else I don't really get killed by, except snipers when I do something stupid |

Shotty GoBang wrote:Scouts by KDR Level (Present) http://imageshack.com/a/img203/8206/dzo4.pngSummary: All 164 of us, grouped into a histogram by KDR interval. Nerd Notes: A histogram is a statistical tool used for testing for a normal or near-normal distribution. Google "Histogram" and "Normal Distribution" if your recollection of statistics is rusty. Given the sample size at hand, one would expect to see a Normal Distribution - in short, a bell curve roughly centered around a median/mode value. The reason you aren't seeing a Normal Distribution is that Figure A contains disparate (albeit related) datasets. Ranged Scouts perform substantially better than CQC Scouts, experienced Scouts perform substantially better than inexperienced Scouts, and recent converts to Scout generally have higher KDRs than long-standing Scouts. So piling them all together screws up normalcy; regardless, its a fun visualization for you to checkout.
Scout KDR Timeline by Experience Level (July 1st to Present) http://imageshack.com/a/img850/2493/qu8t.pngSummary: The 86 Scouts I've been tracking since Uprising 1.2, grouped and averaged by current killcount. Nerd Notes: Here we've broken the Scout Community down by kill count, and plotted the average of each experience level over the 45 or so days since Uprising 1.2. This is a good look at our community's health at various levels of experience. As you've likely observed on the KillBoard, average KDR is directly related experience level. A declining average KDR at a given experience level is concerning. A holding KDR is unexpected but less concerning. An inclining KDR is expected.
Explanation: DoubleTap asked for a breakdown of everyone's KDRs so you guys could see how you were trending over time. I thought this a better way to address his analysis request without disclosing individual performance histories (as some have requested that I not do so). As always, let me know if you guys have any questions or would like to see other analysis scenarios. Happy Hunting, Shotty GoBang

I've found HMGs to tear me apart if they get a good lock on me, or if I run out of stamina and the stupid stamina delay stops me from sprinting.
Mass Drivers also stop any attempt I make to strafe around them due to their splash.
Assault Scrambler Rifles are pretty annoying too. |

I would say yes to the valor because it gets the gallente scout bonuses. makes for a good free suit and full free fitting if you also have all the milita blueprint mods to go with it. |

Yeah void is right.
I wouldn-¦t by it either. I also only spend money on booster or more correct on merc packs. You get free stuff!!!
Now all my chars have Dragonfly Light and Medium suits and those nice smg-¦s.
I would try to run isk sufficient on basic or advance suits, because they don-¦t cost a leg. Fall back on militia if you need more training. Or just add me ingame and I donate you a few mill xD
For me. I just run Dragonfly scout as I-¦m still waiting for the amarr scout. Hope dies at last. |

i killed today some of these ****** fukkers ;-) my general tactic is, when i'm going around the corner and suddenly a heavy pops up (which happens way too often <.<) i run & jump over his head or shoulders and fukk his back with my "blow-dryer" aka marshmellow-shooter aka shotgun.. i can get 2 shots most times before he's able to turn around (thx to the heavies slower turning speed)... |

I waste real money to save isk, only thing i haven't bought is the elite pack and i'm always in a 'Neo' Suit. A look at it as a paying customer has more right to complain about the game than a non paying customer. I also want to help support the game if I play and enjoy it.
Less money then I would spend going to the bar. so it saves me money in real life too. |

To me there is nothing worth spending isk on (as an infantry player). Once you have built up a war chest you can splurge some and then go back to advance suits for a bit if you start cutting into your millions
Why use real money to save fake money that has no real value in game??? But thats just me.
All that being said I would probably buy blueprint suits if I could customize their appearance for individuality so who am I to question your motives.
Only other point - the business model is F2P so spending money or not shouldnt be a factor in people complaining about the product. A valid complaint, expressed politely should be addressed. |

Thanks for the input guys. I am tempted to buy it and then not. I find it expensive so I'm waiting for a sale maybe once the scouts get fix (scout 2.0 lol) I don't know if these suits get bonuses. Dragonfly is still gallente right? I have enough aur to buy a 30-day passive sp booster. I wish they brought the old merc pack back, maybe i missed the boat.
Sidenote, try zerging the enemy when they are all around an objective. Today I spawned on B and was directly behind the pack of heavis, assault, MDs. I got a 5 killfeed with the ishu.NKs some guy was revivng the ppl that fell right infront of me so I killed them again. Finally, the MD stopped me in cqc, like always. I was with knight solaire, he was rocking the bsc shotgun and novaknives I also saw him with bsc pistol which is boss.
I'm still wanted guys 100k isk if you kill me. P.52 for details lol |

Anything else I don't really get killed by, except snipers when I do something stupid You can take out heavies with accurate shots from the smg! MDs kill me in cqc and med range. The AR, however, kills me in cqc, med and long range. Shortest kill was 0m and longest kill was 68m, I was trying to run away. I think theres neends to be a major difference in accuracy when you fire standing and crouched, do ya'll agree. There needs to be better cover. You can't play that tactful right now because the game is unfinished, we try though right? Shotty, I hope I'm not spamming your mail, but I have alot to say to the scouotly ranks. |

Hiya Scouts! I'm assembling a framework for better trend tracking for 1.4, and I need your input. In summary, if you're a Scout Sniper you'll be grouped in a chart with other Scout Snipers. The Killboard won't be affected at all, this is simply an attempt to make better sense when analyzing everyone's statistics and measuring how mechanical changes affect different roles.
That said, I have huge respect for you guys. Dang near every sniper in the game runs 2-3x your HP in a medium frame and still has room to stack damage amplifiers. You have mastered the art of being unseen.
I've picked through our thread and analyzed performance patterns to produce the following list. Please let me know if I included or excluded you in error:
Scout Snipers (alphabetically) Admonishment Decasor JieXi Bao Jugger Nuttz Keeriam Miray Kodho Samantha Hunyz Tyjus Vacca voidfaction
Thanks a bunch, guys. As always, let me know if you have any questions.

For now, we will have two groups: Snipers and Non-Snipers. Folks who snipe on occasion will be grouped with the non-snipers. Folks who generally snipe will be grouped with the Snipers.
Django Quik wrote: How about grouping people by other categories too like shotty scouts, sidearm scouts, etc?
This is a good idea, but a difficult one to implement as many of us routinely switch category/role (even within the same match).
Further breakdown is something we can do eventually -- like putting a (G) or (M) next to your name on the killboard -- and running reports by race. These are things we can consider down the road.
For now, we'll focus on Snipers and Non-Snipers to better track how the upcoming changes to game mechanics affect the primary subsets of our Community. Our snipers have a distinct performance pattern, a different set of challenges, and a unique relationship with certain game mechanics. Changes to squad-sight (unconfirmed) and aim-assist (confirmed) are going to affect us all, albeit in different ways. Our Snipers are a small group, but certainly worth monitoring separately so we can better measure the impact of 1.4.

Just added the above "Health Metrics" in preparation for 1.4. We're now better equipped to track Scout performance at all experience levels in our primary combat roles (snipers and non-snipers). We'll know within days what affect 1.4's mechanical changes has had on the Community.
The last two graphs are incomplete, as we've added a dozen or so newcomers since 1.3 was released. The 1.4 dataset and graphs will include you guys.
All indications suggest 1.4's gonna be big. What we suspect so far is a 'bit of a mixed bag:
- Aiming Improvements
- Armor Buffs
- Super Fatties
- Strafe Speed Nerfs
- Weapon Rebalance
- Vehicle Collision
- Squad Sight Changes
Seems unlikely they'll be able to cram all these tweaks into one update, but we'll know soon enough! All that to say, if Scouts get boned again we'll know right away. I'll be updating our stats and graphs regularly.
Thanks again to each of you guys for all of your participation and support in bringing this Community together. I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
I'll quit Dust before I give up on my Scout Suit or the Scout Community.

I panic when I see a shotgunner coming at me. I don't get into many knife fights with scouts, but the SG scares me in cqc. Plenty of times I've been dealt a killing blow by SGners. Does the hit detection act up when shooting at enemy's back? Because when I get hit from the front I die, rightly so. Sadly the only way to counter this is to back-peddle. I think to counter this, is to switch to sidearm and then when you have enemy where you want them, take out the SG again. |
