Gotta be the Scrambler Rifle. It just works so well. After that would be the Flaylock (I just loved it from day 1) and the SMG.
Why do Amarr and Minmatar have the most badass weapons?
I am part shovel, part man, full scout, and a little bit special.

ACR is hard to get used to, but it has more range and similar DPS.
Hipfire is more accurate, but you have less overall damage in the clip.
You need to get sharpshooter to 3 at least, and ammo to 3 to stop you from running out of ammo 24/7.
Hope that helps!

To be honest, all of the rifles are pretty good when properly skilled and from the right range, so best bet is to use what you like. CR works for me because the burst fire handles in a lot of ways like the scrambler pistol (distinct aimed shots) and it fits the range I like to engage from, but I quite enjoy the AR too.
That said, the Assault CR is a beast

My favorite is the Shotty, but it sucks when you want to cap someone long distance.
I've always been more of a distance fighter in games (And yes I do believe that is the technical term ) I've tried the Shotty and Noki's (Am I the only one that calls them that?) back in Chromosome but I just never got into them, don't like being close to the enemy, exception is mlt shotgun on a heavy suit of course.

Awww man I love it! I love being up close and personal but when I'm far away... I'm at the biggest disadvantage. No matter what if I run I always get MERKED. The only time I can really run away is when I have a few objects in between which also puts me in a godo advantage especially if me and the enemy are circling like a container or something... because then I can run fast enough to get behind him or her and blow them away with a shotty.
I get such a thrill from it, but the problem again lies in far ranges. In far ranges I tend to Deploy with a Rail Rifle which I know its considered overpowered. So sometimes I've been thinking about switch and honestly I don't think I could ever do Nova Knives.. My hats off to anyone that pulls off NK really well.

With the pistol releases/changes in 1.8, shotty with one of them might be viable. You'll still be out ranged by the rifles, but you'll be effective out to 40-50m, and have the shotty for close work.
I'm terrible with the NK (think I got about 30 kills total for the Shinobi event) but the thrill from them is very much what you describe with the shotgun. Got a really nice kill last night with them, and it makes all the deaths and fuckups worthwhile

I thought about trying the Fraylock Pistol as everyone says it's the best pistols right now... but I don't know. I try to have a Sub Machine gun as a side arm but I might as well use my shotgun if I'm already that close. lol

If we're talking about thrill here then I'd have to go with flaylock. Nothing is more satisfying than gibbing three guys with a round the bursts at it's max range.

I enjoy a good trap, also I like to try for distance, interesting trajectories (particular favourites are sending people off the sides of bridges, or when people hit walls and get stuck hanging) More shenanigans makes for more fun

NO.
NOT EVEN CLOSE.
It doesn't do enough damage, and is hard to use effectively.
I love the gun cause it's a blast to use, but I seriously do not reccomend using it without proto'ing it out to Proficiency III.

ROF was the problem. It simply killed to fast (And easily due to splash radius).
Fine rifles kill far faster than it does now, and the damage it deals is underwhelming.

Well, radius is fixed now.
So at least gimme my direct damage back. I want that thing to have it's old 230 direct damage so I can hit armor tanks in the chest for 330 damage.
Increase splash by a tiny bit (150,165,180) and leave radius and ROF alone.
Deal?

So I got to looking at the market eve side on how popular various things are currently.
Caldari are far and above the most purchased dropsuit.....like 5x more.
Nano hives and active scanners are most bought equipment,
There are very very few focused scanners bought....talking probably less than 500 all time.
The shotgun is the least skilled weapon. (Almost no fitting operation books purchased)
The game continues to lag in player retention. Very few skill books are being bought....at least the core skills. :(
