Doubt it. Bethesda (maker of new) and Interplay (maker of old) are supposedly fighting over rights to the franchise. I can't imagine Bethesda rolling out an Interplay-esque version. But it'd be pretty dang funny if they did.

The original Fallout were really good. Honestly the main reason they won't do a remake is just because the newer Fallout have wider appeal.
But there was a Fallout remake released not that long ago.
It's called Wasteland 2.

They are in the process of converting their code into untiy 5. The game is going to get a large visual facelift sometime this fall. It is also supposedly then on its way to xbone/ps4.
Brian Fargo, the OG creator of fallout, ran the development from Kickstarter to launch. Cool dude.

So I've found out a few more details about the new XCOM. 5 new classes (only 4 of which are currently announced. Ranger aka sworddude, grenadier, sharpshooter, specialist), there's a loot system from down aliens now too.
The last alien show was actually a sectoid... they've started incorporating human DNA and apparently exist to wreck your ****.
A lot of people are trying to figure out what 'canon'/ending this follows... Firaxis has basically said "Well, the canon difficulty of xcom is ironman impossible".
