You can definitely still only get 1 swing to work on moving targets. Also I'm fairly sure the hitbox for both swings is the same, so it's normal for both to connect if you're both stationary. In otherwords, I doubt the knives actually do both right heavy and left heavy hitboxes differently (I could be wrong).

The vehicle kill assist mission is so obviously broken. CCP clearly intended for it to be about the "vehicle kill assists" you get when someone in your vehicle gets a kill. Somebody got confused when implementing the idea and made it normal kill assists using a turret.
I hope they fix it.
Speaking of fixing stuff, anyone know if reactive plates, energisers, regulators and kirin's damage mods are fixed yet? Are ferroscales broken too? |

It has been my experience that you only get that warning, if the scanner precision is vaguely close to the scout profile. If, however they are way below it.. you dont see a margin error. No, not really an example. Rail rifle range compared to other weapons was a problem - especially in regards to how maps are designed. Much like myo's being a thing that was heavily exploitable due to things not having balance considerations towards them, rail range was problematic as it allowed a lot of fire across ground that traditionally would have been available as cover. My disagreement with you came from your statement (summarized) that "a rifle should not perform equally as well throughout its whole range", that they should have other diminishing factors whether it be poor handling or just straight damage nerfs at 'non-intended' (but still inside optimal) ranges. Anyways I'd like to drop it there.
As far as bioshock, no I haven't read atlas shrugged.

Fair enough, Mina :-) As for Atlas Shrugged ... an interesting read to say the least; seems to have inspired parts of Bioshock's story line. Would recommend the book; the movie version is quite bad.

The key? 2 Kincats and Knives as your primary. It makes running Knives 1000x more fun and exciting! I genuinely can't believe how much of a difference in enjoyability it has made.

I can't remember the last time i had over 87 armor on a min scout....or didn't have 2 kincats on it that is what they are built for
I know a fit that you will defientaly enjoy if you rather speed over Hp...i used it and outstrafed everyone i 1v1'd (they didn't land a shot)

Seriously though, if they're running GalLogi scans in Ambush (which is typical for stompers), you're going to be scanned constantly. Even if you do manage to run away, you aren't going to be able to do anything else but run away.
The way I see it, you have two options as a Scout in that scenario. Either leave battle or die and respawn as a double damped GalScout.

1st deployment - Partially completed stomp. 2nd deployment - Officer stomp above. 3rd deployment - Different group; yet another stomp. Left battle. 4th deployment match - Returned to #3, now w/13 clones remaining to the stompers' 49. 5th match - Officer stomp. Same group as in #2.
Done for the day. No desire to try again tomorrow.

You need to change it up. Last night I actually had some really fun battles in Skirmish. Kind of surprised me. Some good fights and fairly close battles.
Here is what i do. Login, try one Skirmish, if it seems good keep at it. Otherwise go to FW and slowly earn some LP. Seems to work fairly well for me if i can get into a FW.

I suspect that the bulk of Rattati's time and resources are committed to PC 2.0, but I'm also hopeful.

Yeah my forays coming back after a month have been a mix of good fights and bad fights, mostly bad. One match I was put into showed me a lovely Victory screen instantly - didn't even get to see the map.
Another match me and four other mercs in a 5 vs 10+ battle fought a varied clutch of Nyan San and others...total stomp but kinda fun sneaking around killing the odd one before the rest of them descended on me. No chance of winning the battle though - I stayed for the ~300K ISK payout and the chance to cost them some ISK themselves, not that I think stompers give a monkey's about ISK.
They really do need to change something, but I sense they don't think anything is wrong. I don't agree with splitting the playerbase to casuals / soloists right now if ever - that just does not seem like a good solution to stomping.
Would much rather see changes along the lines of your first suggestion. Incentivizing fighting is by far the best way in my opinion. Not only will it solve the problem of players leaving (though I'm not sure that was the problem in the battles I mention above) but it may also reduce the desire to stomp in the first place. That and surely the bloody variable squad sizes need to be put into place asap.
Perhaps this new powercores business will help too - it will bring STD and ADV closer to proto.
[edit] OHHH and meant to suggest the current event may well be bringing out the stompers of the stompers, seeing as the daily mission numbers are ricockulously high (150 kills!! damn that's probably 15 battles for me) |
