That's... incredibly strong. Kind of breaks the whole ISK dynamic of the game. I don't like it at all. Some of the price tags I'm seeing are pretty high. At 70k+ with two slots filled by CPU and PG chips, I'd rather just run a 45k advanced frame. I hadn't considered that. I guess it's not as bad as I'd thought. (Although I'm sure the forums will find a way to break it within a week)

My initial impression -- which Jolly will not doubt prove wrong -- is that these won't make for very good frisbees. Their blast is tighter than a thukker, and they toss fast and far ... I suspect placement and timing will be too tough to pull off reliably.
Just be like most the adv and up assaults. Why would I change the cloak?
In all honesty, all I would do to the Tiger scout is give him a basic ACR, swap out the damps for proto and give him some more shields (If possible)
I need to play with it. I'll probably plug in and update dust later today.

The only sense i've found that you really "get more" out of it, is in the case of caldari, where std bpo only gives you 1 low slot, but APEX lets you get 2, with finagling. because of the power.
oh. I just found one use where it is fully better. I had a C-1 BPO fit that was for range. but it only gets 1 range extender.
I can now fit TWO range extenders in there wit the apex. But of course, I have to spend more money than my C-1 fit. So... Seems fair to me

Remember though the apex suits get the racial roles where as the other bpo suits don't to my knowledge. That in its self is a pretty big bonus.

Maybe you want an adv cloak? Or whatever. The point is its a weird way of doing it such that the scout can not really change one item in the same way any other suit can. I don't like it when it's like that as a general rule.

Another thing to consider is you can deploy more equipment, again due to the stupid way bandwidth changes for different tiers. All in all there are a number of differences that make me think it's now worth getting one.

The flipside to that, is that by doing that, they are creating a fairly weak, yet expensive suit. You'd be better off running full proto probably.
I am enjoying the fits I can put together with Militia-Adv modules however. Too, now I can tweak some of the APEX suits to be how I'd really like them instead of being 'almost' just right.
I 'might' say that maybe APEX suits need to be restricted to Basic level LP store items. Am I missing something? I thought you could only swap items of the same type, like a regular rail rifle for an assault one. What can you really do with them? I had a reply typed up, but what Ares said, he beat me to the punch :P I now plan on getting one. Although I'm a bit sad to hear your stuck with a std cloak. Anyone have any thoughts on the min scout vs gal scout apex suit?
Unless something changed you are not stuck with the std cloak, you might need to adjust some fittings to be able to fit the Adv cloak though.
Gal scout is good if you want to skirmish with it, and it's easier to hide with, which I like.
Min scout is good for getting out early and hacking points, and hey, free knife suit. It's really good for anti scout stuff. I'm still working on seeing if I can make a decent 3x Comp Myo fit with it.
It's a bit slower, but the Amarr scout is just a beast with the Scr Rifle, but I really don't use it as much. |

Day 21 - Mixing Up My Routine
Extract:
Oh me, oh my! After repeatedly getting my teeth kicked in in Skirm, I thought, '**** it: it can't get much worse than this', and went and queued Dom.
Now, recently, I said that I hated Dom, and that it's bad for Minjas, but I think I'm going to have to retract this statement. I had a blast playing three Doms today! It was so exciting! I'd been in a rut for a little while now, but I believe this came from the monotony of running the saaaaaaame fit in the saaaaaaaame game mode, over and over, for no less than 20 days (except for trying Acq once it came out). Running Dom was like a breath of fresh air. In the first one, I went 29/1.
Knifing was fun again!
