Void is one of the only people I see in corp chat so it'll be weird seeing the place empty. I'm just back and hanging out for the new 1.0. See how that goes and then make a decision on the game.

At some point being involved with Dust feels like the Concorde Fallacy. When do you stop putting time in to grind out skills and things you want for a game you're going to leave anyway?

And when playing it's so jarring just visually, occasionally certain angles will cause the aliasing to get all messed up. It wasn't a great looking game by PS3 standards any way.

As for match making. We're still lazor focussed on PS3 apparently and it has all but been confirmed that PvE cannot happen on PS3 so unfortunately your options for avoiding stomp squads consist of not playing the game (especially when said stomp squads head out onto different servers to not have to fight each other, *cough*cough*Nyan San)

The crazy silence on Legion is concerning though. And the fact that many EvE players thought Dust actually got shut down back at FF. Which is a reasonable conclusion given what was put out for press releases.

I'm actually kind of saddened that people can file a support ticket though. Misses the point.

I really think they want the game to fail because they are doing nothing at all to keep new players and we are only losing old players to better games. The only ones really staying are the proto b.itches that are rich because they cheated PC payouts.

I have been wanting to learn how to use Nova Knives properly for a while, so last week I took them to proto.

I have been running them on my Gal scout. I know this is unorthodox but I believe it can still work.

I am familiar with using a SG and I am a good shot with it so I am used to getting in close etc but knives are a different animal.

There have been several times when I was sure I had a kill but somehow missed. Am I getting too close? Is that even possible?

Results have not been great. I have trouble with moving targets and catching mercs from behind. I am running 2 Kin cats but you can't sprint while charging. I know about the sprint/jump/charge technique but *sigh*

I haven't been clacked up either. Is this bad too? Am I doing it all wrong?

Can anyone point me to resources to help me get better? youtube, a thread, etc or offer any wisdom.?

I am determined to become proficient with cutlery before DUST gets turned off.

I would suggest using weaker NKs at first to practice, use a cloak often, and learn to pick off the strays.

I'm mediocre with them when they do grace my hands for combat, and I started out with the Militia Nova Knives, Militia Caldari Light Frame, and a Militia Shotgun. I slowly upgraded to ADV and now am working on PRO.

Also, I suggest facing reds from behind while they are engaged in combat, camping, or waiting for the RDV. (Free vehicles anyone?)

Nah, GA scout is totally fine with knives.

Haerr and myself were using knives on GA and MN assaults (with kincats). That was unorthodox but to our suprise it worked out quite well and lots of fun was had.

I think the easiest way to start using NKs is to run towards the enemy red line, cloaked, and then try to stab as many people in the back on your way back towards the middle of the map, then repeat.

Within the next few days I'll have my 2nd proto suit on my J0LLY R0G3R character. This long and finally getting a 2nd suit to proto lol.

Honestly I don't think it's worth it to put too many points into the plasma cannon if you're expecting performance out of leveling Operation. Unless something changed when it was buffed, plasma cannons barely scale up in quality from STD to PRO. Level 1 in operation is pretty much enough to get a feel for them.

The difference between a standard placon and a fully specced Galmando allotek is vast and glorious.
Neither of them can kill a Gunnlogi unless it's bad though.
