As a short timer in the scout department, how are you guys finding the current battlefield post Charlie as oppose to pre ?
I have found, atm, that I haven't had to run more than one complex damper and cloak due to the majority of peeps being med frame or above. I know that will change in time. Also most scouts I have seen have been Minmatar !!!!

Also most scouts I have seen have been Minmatar !!!! I'm finding it to be an absolute blast. I haven't bothered dampening most of my fits honestly, I've just been running around in pubs with double kincats and a cardiac reg and knifing everything I see.
Only using the Min adv suit atm so I'm running kinkat and codebreaker until some one tries to scan then I'll drop a damp on. Where possible I am only trying to use the cloak to get into position don't want to be to reliant on it. Still having wtf moments knifing but it is so rewarding when the kill comes up on the feed. It's been a blast so far, so much so that I haven't been running my logi.

Because I can't be arsed to trawl through and find out, by how much would you guys think about reducing back peddle ?
Are you thinking percentage or specifics for each suit type ?

Thanks for the replies.
How did you arrive at this figure and why do you think it is fair and reasonable ?
It's like twenty questions tonight : )

I suppose the logic should be that the person back peddling should still be able to have a chance to fight back whilst rewarding the stealth of the scout to get into a position to get the kill. Meaning that the scout needs to time the attack perfectly if they want to get out in one piece, I still **** that up sometimes so much so that I ought to record it.
An interesting aside to this would be it may encourage people to fit precision scanners etc to give them a slightly better chance to pick up anybody trying to flank them. Although the majority of people still don't seem to like to do anything but fit tank.
I have both profited from back peddle and lost out to it I honestly find the speed strafing more annoying tbh. I certainly get the frustration of doing everything right to suddenly find that my target has spun round and is shooting the crap out of me. At that point it is either continue with the NK kill, burn off or pull out a secondary. None of which tend to be ideal in a 300 HP suit !!!

Spademan wrote:Hawkings Greenback wrote:I suppose the logic should be that the person back peddling should still be able to have a chance to fight back Not to disregard the rest of what you posted, but here's a problem I think. Certainly they should be able to fight back, but it should be a choice. Fight or flight, at the moment with 100% backpedal players can do both at the same time.
I maybe should've been clearer I meant after the change. Then if you don't get a clean kill then that's the chance for the other person to fight back, or run away. To be fair most will still try to back peddle and mow you down
But yes I agree it should be about choices.

I got into a knife fight the other day ( very rare to find one atm )and we danced around a bit, both must have just caught each other as we both had a little armour left. So the other dude pulled out his pistol & shot me -_-
Had the same thing happen the other day. Saw a scout with knives so i fired my flaylock over his head because he was running away. Proceeded to pull out my knives & got shot again -_-
Another time i got into a knife fight with a redberry and another red berry came around the corner & shot me -_-
I'm starting to see a pattern. So if someone wants to fight me with knives they are going to have to initiate it or i'm shooting there ass. Anyway it cant have been me as I'm a terrible NK scout : )

Pseudogenesis wrote:Knife duels are fun but over way too fast. Plasma cannon duels, on the other hand, are what dreams are made of. I once had a duel with a mass driver user against my PLC that lasted about 45 seconds, and ended with us direct impact killing each other simultaneously at a distance of about 10 meters good times
Quietly contemplating the plasma cannon, got a load from a strongbox ( I think ) the other day when I actually got a key. Go me. Anyway it's either flaylock 5 or dump a load of points into plasma cannons and make a crazy Min Ass cannoneer fit.

Got 6 last time I looked, got 4 from daily missions the other night. Still prolly end up with a frontline suit though. Might just hang on and let everyone else test it out first before I waste the keys.

Mhrmmmm. I would point out that this affects non-boosting players as well. As a PR tip, maybe point out that actually you have a comprehensive set of fixes for plenty of non-AUR based issues as well? Otherwise it's depressingly easy for bittervets like me to prey on your posts. What you do or write is up to you, just stay inside forum rules. I am not listening though.
So is it your intention to not listen to people because they feel so strongly about some thing ? or is it just the way it is presented to you that you disagree with ?
On that note you yourself have a great deal of respect from the community with what you have achieved over the last year. Maybe burying your head in the sand & saying you are not listening is not the best thing to say despite what is being said. You come across as disengenious, where as you are more than likely a little upset/annoyed at the reception Warlords is getting from certain quarters.
Regardless of what is being said people are still playing & paying in DUST.

There are quite a few things that can be done.
One, instead of character WP throwing you out, account WP should throw you out.
Multiple heavies in LAVs redlining newbs, constantly.
I will share more soon.
Everyone should start an alt and start from scratch occassionally. It lends a little balance to how you see the game.
Props to you for doing this.

Spademan wrote:Why do ya'll be hating on Dom? All skirmish is is a consistently one sided mode that takes far too long to get to any kind of action.
I like skirmish for the fact I can run around the outside points generally being a pain In the arse hacking everything in sight whilst dropping links behind the lines along with RE's. Even if it is one sided. Dom becomes a run around after stragglers or camp the single objective from on high. Not that that doesn't happen on skirm, just that I feel I have more options open on skirm to play how I enjoy playing.
Dom is better, for me, in squads. Whereas I can solo in skirm and ambush.
Anybody think we could do with another game mode ?

Vitantur Nothus wrote:Too much to list, Murt! It is all archived here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=1775Would recommend getting your boots on the ground and seeing things firsthand :-) Some things to look out for: Suits* Assaults received massive buffs and are presently most popular suit; MN Assault is FoTM.* Scouts were nerfed a few times and are (thank goodness) no longer FoTM. * Heavies can still insta-spin and HMGs are push-button wins against untanked Scouts (so bring REs). * Commandos are still the worst suit; Logis (especially Gal) are better than Logis are willing to admit.* Grenades are now 2 instead of 3.
I hate that Min Assault is FOTM, that suit is going to get a whack eventually & unfortunately. Fun suit though especially with a Complex Damp & RE's
I think every Logi that has a Gal Logi knows that they are a very powerful asset & I rarely use mine as I feel a little dirty afterwards . My biggest concern with this suit atm is its use in a very good team, they can pretty much permascan everything. So even older & newer players struggle against that. I was requested to use it in a PC because of the number of scouts etc etc & as long as I could stay alive we pretty much shut down that game, the only balance if any is my proto gal perma scan suit costs 220k isk. Still is dirty though just my opinion.
