If ISK payouts are still broken, I might just go full proto to make sure I can dampen. Otherwise I will have to run my adv suit.

FTFY and my guess will be something crazy like significant fitting penalties for plates on scouts. Meaning not only an increased speed penalty but also increased CPU and pg costs and decreased efficacy of all plates on scouts.

TL;DR 1.9 is not worth it.
Even though I played FF14ARR and played DUST.
Even though I played through the ME Trilogy and still played DUST.
Those were apparently significantly different enough that I didn't feel the need to compare them.
Going from 14 to DUST and back was very easy, one was on PC the other PS3. I could even play both at the same time! (Yeah, basically I was doing a planetary conquest match or I was afk'ing during that period)
Going from ME to DUST was a little more difficult. They were both shooters, but 3rd person vs 1st person.
I think I'll stick to single-played JRPGs for the next year or so, because I'm pretty bored with Destiny, though I log in to do daily grind for materials.
The single biggest reason that I don't give a **** about DUST anymore is the Sniper Rifle.
**** this game. The circle reticle on the tactical is a piece of ****. I keep trying to go to my favorite spots and forget that the range was nerfed on all three. "Oh my, I see some uplinks on a rooftop, and people are just standing there, mmm free WPs."
Then I go for the shot only for them to be at 470m away. Do I get closer? No, I can't because getting closer means I have to descend where I then lose line of sight on the rooftop.
The stupid plasma-cannon-esque reticle is terrible. Even with the lines across the screen now the dot is so small you can't even see it in mild-brigtness instead of losing it in the very bright areas as before.
The circle, that must have been the idea of someone mentally deficient that's never used the weapon before, gives false positives on when you've got your target in your sights.
I'll admit I've been spoiled. DUST 514 was my first console FPS, well other than borderlands but there's no PVP and AI is predictable and easy to game. I didn't know in EVERY OTHER SHOOTER EXCEPT dust, they used a constant velocity for aiming. I got a taste of what it was like to play without aim-acceleration.
I see the errors of my way, and understand why people think it is absolutely the dumbest way to build a shooter when precision aiming with the left analogue is unusable.
These aren't really problems I'd have to deal with if the original reticle was in place. The difficulty of looking for something so small on my screen that disappears every few meters because of the light changes, and the need for absolute certainty of my target being inside the circle instead of the edge or partially covered just because it turned red. It causes too many movements of the right stick to make sure you know where it is at, and the aim acceleration coupled with aim friction is just a pain in the ass when you mix all 3.
Onto notable things that I don't care for.
Item 1: the Caldari Production Facility. OMG, it really is just abother "take the rooftops" map.
I played it on three different maps: Spine Crescent, Skim Junction, and Impact Ridge.
Kinda silly, an ADS can go in there and in Public Contracts when you have no guaranteed dedicated AV they can wreak havoc. Of course, a much better way to do that is to take the 2 sides of the roof with uplinks and jump down onto other surfaces that are under cover from orbitals/ADSs but lack any way to get up there without coming from the roof.
It's also basically a MD haven. Goodness, there are so many ramps there that completely block off your line of sight but a MD with its arc could shoot you from.
The Draw-Distance is crap. Seriously, I was running around in my Min-Logi suit which is one of the slowest suits I use and I'd round a corner and the guy that was less than 10m away from me hadn't rendered yet, nor half the interior along with him.
Item 2:
$11USD for a BPO? No thanks. I'd be willing to pay its ISK cost in AUR for a BPO, but nothing more than that.
$19USD for skill reset? I deffer to Iggy's comment on that.
$9USD for 15% more ISK from selling your stuff? LOL, whoever pays that needs to be euthanized for their stupidity.
CCP asking 20 bucks for a skill reset just convinced me to spend my own money on Destiny's expansion. At first I thought that Bungie asking $20USD for 1 raid, 4* strikes*, 3 missions and 2 levels but the prices that CCP triest to milk from the community make Bungie's prices look like they're taking a loss on giving out so much content for that amount.
* conflicting numbers exist. 1+1 sony exclusive, 1+3 sony exclusives, 3+1 sony exclusive are all things good sources have said.
Crackers are fancy when they have patterns on them, poppy seeds, and come in a pretty box.

Before Dust, I'd drop $20 on a used game without blinking an eye. If it wasn't complete sh!t, I'd keep it and play it for a week or two. Rinse, repeat. Week after week. This adds up to far more than I've spent on Dust over the past couple years. And I've bought lots of goodies.
I agree that $20 is relative, but to keep things in perspective, we must compare entertainment expenses with like kind (i.e. not food, gas, clothing or beer). |
