I'm all about using a ish smg an a boundless smg, duv quantum scanner, basic CPU , complex kin, 2x complex shield, an a basic damage mod.
Last night I was gettin 15 plus kills an just flanking an hunting, I just have to make a similar fit with toxins an basic gear an hope it packs the same punch for a much cheaper cost |

Mines at proficiency 3 since June, but I haven't used it in forever, then about a month ago I seen a rnd minmatar assault go dual cores with damage mods an walk away with a 26/2 game so I tried it my next game got 17 kills, still viable I think if you have the damage up like I do plus a complex damage mod, an flux. But I would never skill it if I didn't have points in it, not much can compare to a proficient smg! |

How does the "follower" part work for you? I'm having a tough time picturing it. Use the smg, and when they run away switch to flaylock? that cant be right, its short-range, isnt it?
So... ? ? ? ? ?

Crossed the same bridge last week ... compared the two and found the following:
1) The Flaylock's fire rate is capped at roughly 2 rounds per second. Its initial damage output is substantially higher than the SMG's, but the SMG quickly takes and keeps the DPS lead somewhere between the FP's 1st and 2nd shot.
2) The Flaylock is more situational. It's great for finishing off the hopping, strafing or backpedaling medium or dropping a wounded heavy. It is useless if your target elevated. The SMG is a slightly less effective finisher of wounded, but it is the more versatile of the two weapons.
3) The Flaylock is restricted in its "Finisher" role and is arguably ineffective as a stand-alone weapon. I'm comfortable defending myself with an SMG when running Swarms; the same cannot be said for the Flaylock.
4) The Flaylock better suited for CQC acrobatics, but the SMG has higher headshot potential. I aim for the face more often than I jump about, but this is strictly a matter of preference.
^ That said, I'll offer caveat in that I compared the two weapons from the standpoint of a Shotgunner. As tactics likely differ, I'd encourage folks to draw their own conclusions. Both are good weapons, but I've decided to stick with the SMG.

I wondered the same. Figured it was a combination of Magic and Respec. Glad you asked before I did :-) |

We have been toying around with this idea. Not too much support behind it though. I know that Me and Doubletap are game. Maybe getting someone like Shotty or Marauder to actually endorse the thing would get more people into it |

The Breach Holy **** what a challenge sometimes, especially the first time using it. But then I got pistol skills and I discovered what a rewarding pistol. OHK'in snipers, Powerhousing heavies, being straight up unexpected. Marauder I emplore you to buy a hundred and don't stop using it until you've gone through all 100.
The Burst The pistol that is the most fun to use. It is UP in terms of Clip size and ammunition but even if you land just 2/3 of the shots as headshots, they are going down. Headshot master of the headshot weapon. It seems to have a little better range too, or at least it's better at longer ranges.
The Tactical OK I used it extensively today and I would not recommend it as a Bread & Butter pistol but it's certainly a weird flavor. It has less damage and is practically like the Assault except for CPU/PG strain. However, it's got a longer range and 2x ADS zoom. Pretty good for lining up better headshots because the gun is less in the way of aiming due to zoom. |

I just love running up to someone, pumping 3 pistol shots to the chest and then melee'ing them to death afterwards.

I have finally decided that i should carry a gun Tried the Breach fired some test shots while alone and was.... crap this thing is slow, not sure about this.... But then i run into a backpeddling assault dancing his AR at me.... then I BLEW him in half with two shots I love the Breach Still gotta try the Tactical though. |

Always inspiring folks to rock the lesser used weapons - nice! I veered away from pistols in Uprising and have been loving the SMG for pure "get the **** out of my face" hot lead spitting anger. (Still digging the breach, BTW!)
But, I have to say the pistols rock.... I couldn't get into the burst previously, but I did favor the breach over the standard and the assault. It hits like a mac truck....
Isn't it beautiful when someone sees a scout at 20M and is like "I got this chump" and then you unload one of those puppies... after the first hit they panic, **** their pants, and get ready to lie down in a shallow grave..... God help them if it's a headshot.

Yeah I had like 100 of these, down to 50 now, don't use em anymore, was only using them on my proto AR suit before 1.4 dropped.
Tried the ADS with it and I think I just never figured out how to ADS with a pistol lol - perhaps I was doing it wrong and fighting at the wrong range with it.
I just use the basic pistol now - for dire moments. If I don't headshot-kill you with a pistol, I'm dead, so the basic is fine. |
