Appia is right about exercise it helps.
I find my mind is always active and this contributes to my inability to sleep. If I breath in the same pattern I that I breath while sleeping i fall asleep faster. Concentrating on my breathing helps clear my mind.

I swear, if the idiots on this forum get Rattati to add a sprint charge to knives, I will so murderously sprint charge so many people, that they have to nerf it.

I don't care what Appia's agenda is, she gets my vote because scouts, popularity contest ftw.

Seriously though, I'm interested to see how the election will turn out, guess I'll look into the candidates a bit more even.

I thought making nova knives more viable was something we wanted? Maken always wanted to see improvements....is this not one of them? Or has my sarcasm detector failed?

We do! But we don't want sprint charge. It'd be OP, and it'd take alot of the skill out of knifing. No good.

We've proposed more reasonable alternatives:

* widen swing arc and/or extend blade length
* increase movement speed when equipped
* rework PG and damage progressions

I'm not sure whether or not Maken Tosch supported sprint charge. If he did, I'd like to here his reasoning (and whether or not it has changed since 1.8).

I'd actually vote against for that reason, "x is a champion for cause y." We need people who are looking out for all aspects or the game not just the one suit/armor type, handful of weapons, and tank or ADS that they're familiar or is popular and leaving everything else out to rot. Hence, why I'd never vote for Judge and after looking at the list many of the candidates.

yeah I lol'd when they mentioned turning on aiming aim assist..I mean aim adhesion for knives.

Rattati has spoken of several possible changes. Like Shotty was saying, swing arc widen/lengthen, was a part of it, as was aim assist.

In my opinion, sprint charge takes some of the skill out of the weapon. It is something that can already be done with the charge jump, but the charge jump takes a lot of practice and skill.

My personal favorite, but we are unsure if it is possible, is a reduction to back up speed.

I would also be ok with a little aim assist for those sudden sideways movements, so long as it is not very strong. That is something that could also be easily overdone.

PS: Unlocked NK Proficiency 5 today :-). Running IshNoks + AR on GalScouts (Shields + Damps + KinCats).

Nova Knives are viable. Standards easily kill anything that isn't a heavy or super-tanked Logi in one charged swipe (provided both knives connect).

ZN-28's kill that tanked logi and some heavies.

IshNoks kill proto heavies in one charged swipe plus one uncharged followup more often than not.

CCP adds sprint-charge to the knives, they suddenly become OP, they suddenly become FOTM, you'll see asshats in Minmatar heavies running around with them or something else stupid like that. And then CCP will nerf the living **** out of them and that disturbance in the force you'll feel? That'll be the death cry of the playstyle of a goodly number of scouts crying out in pain for one instant before being extinguished forever. Then we'll all have to be cloaked shotgun scrubs.

We want our knives to remain the territory of stealthy, difficult gameplay. We want our kills to signify our talent as hunters, killers and lone point defenders. When three guys in fat suits are hacking the same point and they all die one after the other in the space of 2.8 seconds, without the need for a remote explosive to be tossed...

They remember your bloody name and they fear it. They look for it on the leaderboard at the beginning of a match. If they see it, they change their behavior. Everyone knows who mr musturd is. Ghost Kaiser. Llast326. I could go on. There're a few who have sent me hatemail after and during a match for my knife work. They'll never forget my name. I've had corpmates comment on my spamming the killfeed with Ishukone Nova Knives for brief spurts (nothing like the streaks I've seen Ghost go on, mind)... my tank-driving, dropship-flying squadmates' saying "Nice, Jace!" when I take down that forge gunner they can't hit. When they see the name of that hostile Thale's sniper inside the redline show up in the killfeed, the one you can't effectively countersnipe because he's in a proto Sentinel suit. The guy manning the railgun installation inside the redline. They all remember the knifer who shredded their dropsuit. They all know that the sound of the knives slashing means they're already dead.

Add a sprint-charge to the knives, we'll all just be "another nk scrub". It won't be special.

Yeah I am not asking for OP anything, let alone knives. But viable is what I thought they have never been. Things change, I've not been around for a few months - didn't realise the idea of sprint-charge had been poo-poo'd. So yeah. I've seen Jolly's vids, and had some fun with knives myself pre-1.8 with min scout.

I wasn't advocating for a specific improvement, just asking about a specific one. Clearly others here think it could do with improvement. I didn't realise they were feared these days. But thanks for the chill down my spine with your story ;-)
