It's easy right now to want to switch to assault/logi, but I know the scout class is vital when they get it just right. I made one mlt med gal suit where I tank armor and it's fun to experiment your playstyle.
I'm no logi but I'm goin to spec into pro equip. I really hope we get that second equip slot! If not I'll have to create new suits with dif. equip. I hope to be a quick scout that aids the team directly.
Django: The role specific suits cost a lot less! I'm sure ya'll knew this.
It's just great seeing the scout roster increasing. So we are collecting TEARS I see  I wonder how many bullets I've dodged!
I wish there was a function that tells you how much isk you took from the enemy when you killed him. Accuracy rating would be fun too. Keep this thread going. I'll be in the dingy bar sipping a brew and looking at my knifes.

I feel a little left out not being a knifer but it's just not my style.
I was looking at the actual scout suit and thinking that the 5k I'd save over my basics would be quite nice, especially since complex damage mods add about 8k to my suit cost now. However, I've decided to spec up my swarms next, just to advanced level I think. Then maybe I'll go scout proper but we'll see if something else might catch my eye first... I do still need to get my last 3 levels in SMG prof and reload speed for that and my pistols... hmm... |

Wow - this literally NEVER happens to me. I got stomped into the ground during my games earlier today! The best I had was a 5/6 and I was overjoyed to get that! I guess Wednesdays/Thursdays are corp pub-stomp days? Everyone trying to cap out..... I never knew that. I thought I just sucked extra bad on those days....

Color me a 13M scrub then too.... sad part is aside from the scout suit (L4), and the L2 in AR/SMG (operation only), everything else is core skills... and I still do below average in most games.

I had some awesome actually balanced doms last night. Thursday night is "game night" for our small clan and we had a blast. Of course like our name we were "baked n loaded" so good time regardless. My shotgun seemed to be on more then normal so it was kill city. Active scanner ftw. Can't believe I wasn't using it since 1.2. But I'm glad I have it back. Only a million sp to proto scan lol |

Well, I kinda use it as an Assault Scout class. I'm all business at medium range with the AR, and I ditch the AR and pull out these knives at close range.
I still use the SMG when I play on maps where I will never leave the compound, but on some of the larger maps, I pull of the AR, because It will really suit me better.

As a scout i do this kind of stuff daily i remember one time i went 22/1 but i didn't lose my suit causes i got pick up so really i went 22/0. 75% of my games i either go even or positive using either my basic or Adv set up.
Also if your a great sniper, Meaning 80% of your shots hit please help me |

Hey Ghost! I increased the bounty to 1 million (provided assassin posts proof of bounty). Opted for a small bounty on a per-kill basis rather than a large bounty on a first-kill basis. This all but guarantees more tears from Fang.
Can't wait for the photos and videos .
One of the guys said they saw Fang rolling around inside a militia tank yesterday ... LOL!

Hi Spademan,
That's alot of SP! If you're a Scout Sniper, check in with Keeriam or Decasor and disregard the following advice.
On Jet Fighers:
Fighter planes are likely a long, long way out. When we do eventually get them, there's also a good chance they'll be an integral part of the Dust/Eve link (and flown by Eve pilots). With that said, I'd spend that pile of SP as you'll make it all back before CCP starts talking VTOLs.
On Proto Suits:
Can't speak for Minmatar, but the Gallente proto suit was a pretty big letdown. Big investment for negligible return...more PG/CPU and a different slot config is about all you'll get. Under AR-fire, a proto scout dies just as fast as any other. Also, CPM has mentioned possibility of a future respec after all suit variations are introduced. So I'd spend the SP on something else, wait for the possible respec, or skill into proto suits once you've skilled into everything else.
Selfless Approach (not recommended):
Odds are your corp isn't overflowing with Scouts, so you may want to check in with command first. They'll likely ask you to spend all your SP on Uplinks. If you're OK performing a non-combat role, a Scout with proto uplinks can be a big asset in PC. You won't be able to fit much else of value on your suit, so you'll be on uplink duty (dropping friendly ULs and hunting hostile ULs). No fun in my book. If you're running pubs 90% of the time, I'd spend the SP on something other than Uplinks.
Selfish Approach (recommended):
There's a distinct possibility that 1.4 will be another kick in the pants for Scouts. Hedging against this possibility, I weighed all options and converted to the darkside a couple days back. With 2M SP, you can do the same! Tired of bad hit detection? Tired of dying even when you get the drop on the bad guy? Try Core Locus Nades! You still have to play smart, but you'll be death incarnate next time you sneak up behind a pile of entrenched red-dots. Enemy running LLAVs again? Swap out to your Lai Dais, taunt that taxi troll, and collect his salty tears. Bottom line, Proto Nades make for a deadly Scout.
So that's my two cents. Happy Hunting. o7

I specced all the way into Proto Gallente Scout right after the respec. It works well, not excedingly so but still. Recently I've been running the following.

What does work well however is the following:

This suit only costs ~13k if you have a BPO Suit and Shotgun ( 'Daemon', 'Dren' or 'Militia' )
Maybe I'll be playing more scout once the TacNet fix has been implemented... |

I've been noticing a hilarious trend starting to pop up. Twice yesterday, I ran into some assaults running around with knives. They even sought me out and started a knife fight with me....
C'mon guys assault suits are not going to last any longer in a knife fight than a scout suit. It's just silly.
Some people just need every percieved edge or crutch possible
