I have the same train of thought about survival of the fittest vs smartest. Now i don't believe in anything Darwin says with the little ive read, doesn't make sense to me, but i will quote from prison break from memory,
'Theres a reason why they have a 12 inch pipe here Darwin, people can't fit through it.'
Now a healthy balance of smarts & fit through, thats OP. If you're too smart, think sheldon cooper especially in earlier seasons, no freakin way would he be useful outside of working on data in some post-apocoliptic basement with people physically having to protect him 24/7, he might think he'd survive but no freakin way.
Why i like engineering, combination of fit and smarts. Also why i like specialization in improvisation, gets me away from my stereotypical HFA guy thats smart but has no physical fitness whatsoever. Maybe you & me overthink & overanylize everything which is why we may THINK were stupid, but not. As far as kids vs intelligence though, im the youngest of five, mom is no way stupid, none of us are.
