It really cheeses my onions when people spout the same recycled fecal fetus arguments about our so called choices. Many people skilled swarms and minmando for the sole purpose of fire and forget av abilities. Thats an easy 6/9 mill sp investment for one role. Yes md is now a (maybe) viable av option. But is it the swarm? No. Its a grenade launcher which acts very differently to swarms.
Now every little bit of sp matters. You have to optimize your roles to be affective and flexible in the ever changing (lol not really) battlefield.
So lets break it down. You have swarms and minmando. To be optimal with a minmando you now need to skill a new weapon. To be optimal with the swams you now need to skill up a new suit.
Both are heavy investments that are not the fault of the player. These are changes in our sandbox by a outside source (ocp) who now made a optimal build into a suboptimal build.
Now not giving a sp refund is fine to me but dont try make out as its our fault. Our choices matter is now again be proven to be our choices matter till ocp go naaaaah.

Yes, but then you'll be optimal with the mass driver and the swarm launcher. Skill refunds in these situations would be good though. |

That was a friendly rant in the same vein of calling vahzz a man boob. This was not a explosion of any kind and im apologize if it came off that way. It was not even aimed at you dude. More so a general grumble at choices.

Is the MinMando rendered useless because it no longer has a bonus to Swarm Launchers, though? You're still able to use it, just not with the bonus.
No of course it's not useless - I only said the SP in the SL tree would be rendered useless. Is my role in-game min/maxed and optimised the way I chose for it to be? No. Do I have SP invested in something I no longer use? Yes. Is that because I made a mistake? No.

Speaking of Heavies... One thing I'm going to be watching like a hawk is how the Gal Assault changes affect Heavy usage. That RoF buff might catapault the Gal Assault into the preferred means of CQC fighting, which is good, but if it's DPS starts to exceed that of the HMG we might have a problem.
The AHMG is also something I'm looking at because its reliable damage application over longer ranges seems to have overshadowed the vanilla HMG. Wondering how we can fix that creatively.

How do you folks feel about myos for combat usage?
I've found them to be extraordinarily effective at increasing my survivability. On an Amarr assault with SCR (boo, hiss, etc) I fit triple reps, dual plates, and triple myos.
In mid-fight I would jump, find that the damage I was taking was suddenly drastically lower, and I'd recover a significant amount of HP before hitting the ground.
@Adipem - Applying this to the future Calassault, hm... I think it's worth noting that it weakens the tank of the Calassault to fit triple myos. The kind of Calassault I'd run in this scenario would be green bottle, three blue bottles, shield extender, shield recharger, and two shield regulators.
That would bring the recharge delay down to a second which may (more testing needed, previous snipe tests on a Calsent implied this) lead to perma-regen at a rate of 70 HP/s. The tank would be weak, at something like 400 HP? Numbers off the top of my head.
I think that if you attempted to shotgun such an opponent either you would manage to alpha them off field instantly or you would lose the fight. Actually, I think shotguns are well-suited to the task of fighting such a fit because you really do need to alpha kill them.
Green bottles allow a lot more jumping than 5 or 8 even now, IIRC. These are -drastic- increases in stamina and the time spent in the air is sufficient to allow the drastically increased regen rate to kick in. I don't think it's feasible to wait out a green bottled jumper - they won't run out of stamina.

Still curious about interplay between myofibs and new delays; feels like I'm airborne longer than 1 sec when running 3x blues. To answer your question, yes, I've found them to be particularly useful when making escapes. Need 2-3 though to get any real return. That's a hefty investment for a Scout.
You've got me thinking about another angle, though. Jumps aren't on the Speed-HP Curve.

Couldn't hurt. I've sat on two million SP for over a year now in the hopes that one day I might have a new specialization to dump it all into.
EDIT: And... really? 10% extra damage is a -HUGE- impact? Fit a complex damage mod and upgrade your warbarge if it's really that big a deal, lol. Or, I dunno, run Caldari Commando. My sympathy is starting to steadily drain the more this is talked about.

Actually, jumps are on the Speed-HP curve. The higher your HP the less, generally speaking, height you can get from a jump. I have a video showing a few examples.
But one thing I think you're forgetting about your airborne shield regen theory is that fall damage has no been changed and typical three complex myo jumps, depending on the suit, will incur fall damage. But if we're seeing shield tanking Cal Assaults that are outfitting regulators instead of plates I'd say mission accomplished since their EHP will already be extremely low due to fitting three myos in the first place, lol.

Cal Logi GA Assault gonna be OP when hotfix drops.
With options! Dual Tanked - OP Damage Amp'd - OP Also wondering about how the new shield recharge delays are gonna pair with Myofibs. You Shotgun a CA Assault in the back. He hops. By the time he lands, is he already recovering? And how many consecutive hops can he pull off in a row with one of those new Green Pills? 5? 8? Myofibs + Shorter Delays = Free Pass from Shotgun? How to fix? Should they fix? Mario MDs FTW?
Shotty. Gal Assault is not going to OP. It is going to be an unholy abomination with a OP TacAR/BurstAR. Cal Logi will be OP, but not broken. Gal Assault is going to be broken.
