I joke around alot but sometimes it is like I am not allowed to be serious. I go up to a cpm member (wont say who) and I have serious ideas and want to have a serious discussion and they act like 12 year olds and try to troll me. like wtf? I had to repeat like 6 times in a span of 20 minutes to stop talking about my genitals or whatever they were trying to troll me about... and go back to the topic of dust. I can take a joke, but 20 minutes of trying to be serious and give my input is complete immature B.S. that does not belong in a cpm position. Make the joke and move along!! I knew right away who was worth my time and who wasn't when I wanted to get serious. I also realize that my threads have a habit of becoming trollbait, so I post alot of my serious ideas on alts which seem to gather much more serious responses. Like you, I have learned to dismiss things entirely but I just go with the flow.

When I click that link I see the vast majority of people behaving in an articulate, cordial manner. Then one person waltzes in and acts douchey and you throw up your hands and say "Okay that's it, it's all over." That's not the kind of scenario that should make a person want to hold a grudge, especially not a grudge of the "I want this whole place burned down and the earth beneath it salted" variety. I had a positive attitude towards you for a long time, but taking such a black and white stance towards entire communities is a huge issue in my book, especially when community interaction is your job. People are going to disagree with you, Aeon. That doesn't automatically make them trolls and it certainly doesn't warrant your ignoring their input as players, especially now that you're CPM. When you're wrong, you need to know that you're wrong and why you're wrong. Whether you realize it or not, you are very often wrong. Whether you realize it or not, you need us -- the community -- to help keep your facts straight, and we shouldn't have to walk on eggshells when doing it. It isn't personal. It's about making the game better. If you make it personal and react to fact checking and/or reasoned arguments with volatile outbursts, you will fail at your job. If you dismiss as "trolls" and ignore anyone and everyone who disagrees with you, you will fail at your job. If you lose the ego, open your mind, check your temper and try to be more like Cross, you'll prove an effective CPM. You'll be happy, we'll be happy. Cross still comes here and I couldn't think of a better person to converse with and bring up any ideas to the CPM and CCP. I wouldn't be surprised if another member or two stopped in on occasion but if not I am not too concerned in that regard. It will be interesting to see how certain people react with that white tag attached to their name and all the extra attention they get as a result. There has always been hostility towards some members of the CPM, and whom do you think may be on the receiving end this year? It won't be IWS or Soroya this round. I think Apidem needs to remember that, just like everyone, Barbershop posters aren't always right, and don't always behave in the best way. There is mistrust, slander and general hatred against the barbershop, and sometimes scouts in general, that can rear it's ugly head from the wider community. I will always try to defend us from this. It's easier if barbershop posters don't **** people off with arrogance. My 2 isk. I know I don't post here much so I hope I'm not out of line. Long live the barbershop!
